love how soft my hair is, but scent is pretty strong in this product
if you are someone who is sensitive to fragrance, note that the smell of this shampoo is pretty strong. I gave this four stars instead of five for this reason, the smell is strong and does linger. I was thinking maybe because this shampoo was made for sensitive skin it would only be lightly scented, but the smell in this product is pretty heavy. As someone who avoids fragrance as much as possible it is a little bit too scented for my preference. That being said, if you don’t mind fragranced products this seems like a really great shampoo! My hair is super soft and hydrated still over 24 hours later. I have frizzy, dry curly hair and finding products that give my hair true hydration and reduces frizz has always been a struggle. My hair feels as soft as it does after you go get a haircut at a salon and truly I have never found a shampoo or any hair product to give my hair this kind of softness just after one use. also it comes in a huge pump style bottle which is a great bang for your buck. One bottle should definitely last you awhile. If there was a scent-less verison of this product I would 100% convert to making that shampoo the one I use from now on. This is definitely a great shampoo, especially if you don’t mind fragrance in your products. Sadly for me I will have to use this product sparingly as the scent is too much for me personally, but I really love this shampoo otherwise and find it to be very effective in managing my unruly frizzy hair

Lightly scented, clean hair without irritation
I’ve been using this shampoo about two weeks now. It has a light, clean vanilla scent. It isn’t overwhelming at all. I don’t think you need to be sensitive to scents to appreciate a shampoo that does not have a heavy scent to do it. My hair smelled clean, but not perfumed. I have an oily scalp, especially in summer with all the heat and humidity, and this got my hair clean without drying it out or making it feel stripped. I like that there are other products with the same scent, even though the bottles are nearly identical. I’m sure other farsighted people like myself would appreciate them putting “shampoo” in bold or something. No complaints. It is a good shampoo, nice lather even in hard water, got my oily hair clean, and didn’t leave a heavy scent.

“Clean” ingredients and good performance: the perfect pair
I’m someone who cares deeply about the products I put in and on my body, so I really appreciate that Native lists out all of the ingredients on the side of the bottle and also explains WHY they’re there. I independently researched each of them and truly none of them are harmful; the only threats they pose is for allergic reactions, which can happen with even the most natural of ingredients and is simply unavoidable. The only thing I wish they would do is be more transparent about the fragrance and what exactly that is.The shampoo provides a nice lather and really feels like it gets my oily hair clean without also drying it out. The pump has no issues so it’s easy to use. My hair is left feeling soft and not greasy. The vanilla scent is light and luxurious without being overpowering or smelling artificial. It truly smells like vanilla beans and the scent lightly lingers even after showering. I highly recommend pairing it with the matching conditioner.I think that given its “clean” ingredients, this shampoo is a solid value for the money even if it’s pricier than most drugstore shampoo products. Sometimes it’s worth paying more for quality and to preserve your health, and this shampoo is one example of that.

Fantastic shampoo with muted, but beautiful scent!
This Balancing Shampoo for Oily Hair in Bare Vanilla Scent is wonderfully gentle, with a rich warm vanilla scent. The consistency of the shampoo is thick and creamy, and produces a good amount of lather, without needing to use much product. The scent is mild and calming, and has the perfect amount of warm, cozy vanilla, without being overwhelming. The pump bottle is easy to operate, and I appreciate the narrow shape, as it fits perfectly on my corner ledge. It does not feel greasy or sticky, it cleans effectively, and it rinses off easily and completely, leaving behind a subtle, delicious hint of vanilla. This did not cause any adverse skin reactions to my sensitive skin, and in fact, left it feeling moisturized and clean. Overall, this shampoo is wonderfully gentle, and creates an aromatherapy effect in the shower! I love this and can’t wait to try some of these other scents!!

Cleans without weighing down
This shampoo has a nice lather so it feels like it’s cleaning my scalp well. The scent seemed to me more like cocoa butter than vanilla and it’s a pretty strong scent. It took a bit more rinsing than usual but when my hair dried, it wasn’t weighed down. It did not strip my hair color, which most clean rinsing shampoos do. My hair is left soft and with some volume, but not flyaway or frizzy. I haven’t noticed any difference in my scalp yet, beyond being cleansed of greasiness immediately after washing, so it’s not an instant cure for an oily scalp but it has not irritated my scalp at all. I will use the entire bottle before I decide for sure if it’s worth sticking with. At this point, I will say it’s promising.

Long lasting scent
Native is a well-established and respected brand, but I’d never used it before. I decided to give it a try since it’s labeled hypoallergenic and has good ingredients. The scent is fresh and clean and reminds me of something you’d smell in a salon. I washed my hair in the early afternoon and could still smell it the next morning. A little goes a long way. It definitely cleans your hair without stripping it. I used about a quarter-size amount and had plenty of suds, and it cleaned my hair effectively. It left my hair and scalp feeling clean without feeling dry, and I was able to style my hair with minimal product afterward. I also really like the bottle since it’s easy to pump. Great value and definitely recommend!

Smells really bad
I am a big fan of Native products, but this one misses the mark, and I do not recommend it.It is called “Bare Vanilla”, but the scent is not vanilla at all. If anything, it smells like a “Wet Cardboard scented Candle”. For real, this stuff stinks… Like wet cardboard. And the stink is strong! It is heavily scented.How on Earth did the people at Native think this is a good smell? And how did they call it “Bare Vanilla”? Shouldn’t it smell like Vanilla? There is no vanilla scent at all.As a shampoo, it does a great job. It lathers up well, and you only need to use a little bit. It washes out nicely and leaves my hair feeling good. However, it makes my hair stink… Like wet cardboard
