    Nice cuticle oil

So this is pricey, Im just starting to get into doing my nails with hand made press ons/gel polish. Because of this, I’ve experienced some nail bed damage and my cuticles have never looked the best as I just don’t properly care for them. My nail beds were extremely dehydrated, peeling, and thin after months of using press ons and ripping them off- i know, horrible. After only a couple uses of this oil I noticed my nail beds looking more hydrated, the peeling was far less noticeable and while they are still on the thinner side they aren’t nearly as bad. My cuticles also showed some slight improvement but I think with continued and consistent use it there would be far better results. Now, I’ve only used cheap cuticle oil in the past and you can definitely see and feel the difference but I don’t have any comparison to cuticle oil that costs more than a $1-3. I can’t say if this is any better than a mid range cuticle oil but I can say I think its a good product. I also enjoy the smell. It isn’t too strong but has essential oil type of scents to it. The bottle is small, frosted glass, and it’s applied with a roller ball. It can take a few seconds of rolling to get the product to start to come out which can be a little inconvenient but otherwise I enjoy it.

    Buyer Beware

I’m going to have to pay more attention to product sizes. This $39 bottle of stuff is TINY. I mean miniscule. It’s only .15 ounces!!! If I had known I never would have bought it. My nails better shoot out of my fingertips over night 😠

Hydrates the Nails and Cuticles as Described; The Rollerball is a Nice Feature!

I’ve been using this nail oil on a regular basis for the last one month, and I like how it hydrates my nails, and it seems to strengthen them too. It comes in a very small bottle and is dispensed through a roller ball, which I especially like because it allows me to better control how much I use. It doesn’t feel overly greasy to me and absorbs quickly. I also like the faint scent, which to me smells a bit like lemon grass. Because not much comes out at one time, I think it will last for a while, and my nails will continue to benefit. I would gladly purchase future bottles of this oil if it weren’t so costly, and it’s hard for me to justify the price even though it works well on my nails.

Effective, but a poor value for the cost

I’m pretty conflicted about this nail oil. On the one hand, it works well, smells good, and is very portable which makes it easy to use. I like that my cuticles feel softer with use and that my nails seem healthy. However, I cannot get over the lack of value here. This is roughly the size of a lip balm, but at an astronomically luxury price. I simply don’t think the value makes sense here, and therefore I cannot really recommend it, since I think any regular vitamin e oil or jojoba oil would work similarly well.

    Works great

This is a great product! It is very easy to use and moisturizes well without leaving a greasy feeling. It smells nice and is super easy to store in my purse for quick application. Big fan!

  6. SuperShopper

Nicely made, but little effect for steep price

I’m just going to shoot straight with you: at $55 for 0.15fl oz of imported vegan Japanese nail oil, I want to see it perform miracles. I want to see the dry, white cracked ragged edges of my nails transform into supple, moisturized, non-irritated flesh-colored edges. I want them to be healed and invisible. I want “the soft and beautiful hands of sake brewers”, who I didn’t even know existed before today. And, of course, I want it now. I don’t want to wait for weeks of application. Heck, even 4-5 business days. For $55 worth of cuticle oil, I want instant gratification.Sadly for me, I was not transformed. I’m still very much a dry and white cuticled American, without the nourished graceful hands of a seasoned Japanese sake maker. I didn’t see much difference between my fingers before and after applying the oil. I posted pictures, so maybe you can? Truth be told, I only saw a little improvement after slathering on my favorite hand cream. I imagine this is one of those “Rome wasn’t built in a day” kind of things, and repeated applications would be needed to see results from the cuticle oil. But at the risk of repeating myself, at $55 I was expecting some progress today. It’s not all bad though- there are some really positive things going for it which is what made me want to try it in the first place:1. First and foremost, Japanese products are globally recognized for exceptional quality, reliability, and precision, rooted in their cultural dedication to continuous improvement (kaizen) and meticulous craftsmanship. Asian skincare is top notch, and I assumed (perhaps mistakenly) that nail oil would follow the same beauty standards.2. It’s vegan, and not just claiming to be vegan, it’s certified.3. The formula is gentle for sensitive skin, which is great because it doesn’t burn even on broken skin, papercuts, and torn cuticles. Ask me how I know.4. It’s made without silicones, parabens and mineral oils5. It’s lightweight, non-greasy and quickly absorbs into your skin. If you get the sensory ick with other lotions and oils, trust me when I say you won’t with this. It melts into you really quickly.6. The scent is natural and herb-y. Not herbally because this isn’t a shampoo or tea, ok? It smells green. Earthy. Some people think citronella, but it’s more vague than that. Also, it’s faint and won’t give you a headache.7. Last, but certainly not least, my favorite part of the whole shebang- the applicator. It’s a mini rollerball and when I tell you that I love that delivery method.. it’s ingenious! Not too much product is applied (shoot, now that I think about it, maybe that’s the problem??) so you’re not spilling oil everywhere. And let’s be honest, at $55, you want every drop of those zero point one five ounces. In conclusion, if you have money to burn, the patience of a saint, and enjoy your cuticles slightly shiny and smelling like unidentifiable herbs, then this is your opportunity to become a sake maker hand model.

Tiny, insanely overpriced at $366 per ounce

This is ridiculously overpriced for a cuticle oil. Nihonsakari is a sake company based in Japan. In an effort to diversify their offerings they created a cosmetics line inspired by the “smooth hands of the sake technicians”. Instead of selling cuticle oil themselves it looks like it’s only being sold on amazon, which is an interesting choice.Ingredients? olive oil, jojoba oil, squalene, castor oil, and about 55 other things, mostly fragrance. There’s nothing in this that is unique in any way to this being a product made by a sake company (yes there is a small amount of “rice ferment filtrate”, but that isn’t worth $55).I do not find this to be moisturizing at all, despite having so many different standard cuticle oil ingredients. I suspect it isn’t very moisturizing due to the number of fragrance additives, which are typically drying. In addition to all of the fragrance this also contains citronella oil, so it smelly strongly of bug spray mixed with fragrance, which is unpleasant. So now I have dry cuticles that smell like mosquito spray. For the bargain price of $55 for .15oz (that is $366 per ounce).

Luxe Nail Care Experience in a Bottle

Nihonsakari is a rice based moisturing cuticle care oil advertised to be made with Japanese rice, fermentation extracts, and seasonal botanicals. The product and packaging are 100% vegan. The packaging, vial, and applicator are very luxurious. Everything about the design of this product is very intentional. The rollerball applicator was a very nice surprise, but it does take a minute to get going to distribute the product. I found that it applied more neatly than my typical oil and was not greasy at all. The smell was light and flowery. The company advertises this as “natural beauty from sake treasures”, with this cuticle oil having ingredients made with or similar to some byproducts of the sake-making process. Apparently, people who make sake have really nice hands.Winter and repeated handwashing have dried out the skin on my hands, especially around my nails. This has helped a good bit, but I have never been good at consistently using cuticle oil before. I’ve made a little skincare ritual for my hands, and this is a key feature. The smell, the application, and the results feel so posh. I would recommend this for someone looking to level up their nail care into more of a skincare routine or products with a super high-end experience feel.
