    Multiple heat settings, quick to warm up, and efficiently straightens hair

    I have been straightening my hair for what seems like decades, and it can be very time consuming because of how long and thick my curly hair is. This NITION LCD ceramic hot hair comb is extremely convenient and cuts my straightening time in half. The reason it is able to straighten so well is because it has settings that go as high as 450 degrees Fahrenheit, just like the salon straighteners. To turn on and adjust the temperature is easy – it is a very intuitive nob at the base of the brush handle that you twist clockwise, and watch the temperature register on the small digital screen. The comb heats up in a matter of seconds and the unit itself is lightweight.The comb comes with a convenient heat resistant carrier bag for storing and travelling, as well as, heat resistant gloves you may choose to use during use. Another great addition that was included are clips, to make sectioning and straightening your hair so much easier – no more holding parts of your hair in your mouth, which believe me every woman with long/thick hair has had to do. Overall, this hot hair comb is convenient and efficient – I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a more efficient hair straightening option.

    Amazingly fast straightening with a broad heat range

    Hot combs are such a step up from flat irons for faster straightening, though with caveats. This NITION hot comb makes it clear that you need some length in order to safely hold your hair to provide tension as you’re pulling the comb through. Flat irons don’t have this restriction due to the ability to sandwich the hair between their plates.The NITION hot comb heat settings are dialed with a twist of the base and the current temperature is clearly displayed on handle. The temperature range for this comb is amazing, ranging from 265F up to 450F, in 6 fixed increments of about 35-45F each. The ceramic heating element provides even heat rather quickly. Maybe it’s just this device’s heating element, but In terms of negative ions the ceramic tourmaline coating only seems to generate ions at the higher temperature settings. This means if you’re using the lower settings you may still notice some static and fly away. Thicker hair texture that may require gentler heating due to highlighting or other treatments may not get the same benefits as this comb would normally provide. NITION suggests using higher heat for thicker hair, which would in fact provide amazing results. If you’re fresh out of the shower on wash day and have an ionic hair dryer, drying first with that before following up with the hot comb will make it possible to get fab results even on the lower heat settings of the comb. But if you’re looking to just get ready in the morning and quickly fix your bed head, it may prove a bit challenging (see video).But that specific situation aside, this is a GREAT device and really can cut straightening time down drastically. Highly recommended.

    Nition LCD ceramic tourmaline hair straightening brush

    ​You​This is a fine hair straightener and it looks exactly as pictured. The quality of the straightener itself is nice and heavy duty. It seems to be well made for the most part. I like that this one has a dial as opposed to a push button because you won’t accidentally turn it off or change the heat setting. You can turn it to multiple temperatures and it heats up quickly. It has everything you need with it including the comb the hot glove which you don’t actually really need and clips for sectioning off your hair. It also has a very nice storage bag to keep it in with a Velcro closure for the cord. My only problem with this item is that you really have to push your hair into this. Generally, when thinking of a brush, you should generally just be able to brush your hair with it and your hair will go into it. I have used others where this is the case. You basically brush your hair and it goes between the slats in this brush. You can actually brush your hair with this and barely even touch your hair. You have to purposely put your hair between the slats. This isn’t difficult, but I’ve used one that I didn’t have to do this with and so I know there are better ones out there. It’s unfortunate because this is perfect in every other way. It is a very good straightener and probably had I not used other products, I wouldn’t know that this was a problem. But as is shown in the picture the women are pulling their hair into it and that’s exactly what you have to do. It’s not unlike a normal flat straightener in this regard you’d still put your hair inside of it. That said this did straighten my hair relatively quickly.

    Awesome hair tool

    I was skeptical, especially when it arrived because I was expecting more of a brush and it looked odd. The first time I used it, it was awkward. But the next two times I used it, I think it’s easier than my original straightener. I have thicker, long hair that wants to be half curly and half frizz. I have to hold the section of hair taught to brush it through, but it feels easier and almost faster to use than my original flat iron. I usually end up missing a section in the back, but I don’t have that issue with this. You have to make sure your hair doesn’t have any tangles so you can smoothly brush it through. It takes a little longer to heat up than I’m used to, but it’s not too long. I really like the end result and will continue to use this!

    Not for everyone

    This was an interesting hair tool to use. It heats up quickly and easily glides through the hair which is nice, but I did have difficulty with it straightening the ends of my hair. There is nothing that helps keep your ends in the brush besides the glove which I didn’t really want to use. I do think using a regular hair straightener is easier for me, but I could understand this may be easier for someone who has much thicker or curlier hair than I do. I only have very slight waves and it’s very thin too so it was a bit difficult with my particular type of hair. I would still recommend it, just not for anyone with slightly wavy, thin hair.

    Detangle First!

    I have very curly hair, about chin length. I love that this comes with a small comb for detangling, but there is no way that little thing is making it through my hair. I suggest combing or brushing your hair thoroughly (whichever you normally do) beforehand, because this straightening brush will not work well without doing so. Whereas a flat iron will just kind of tug over a tangle, this brush will just kind of stop.This package comes with a comb, some clips, and a much needed glove to avoid burning your hand while brushing this through. For about $60, I’d say it’s priced adequately. Heats up quick and works about as well as a flat iron.A regular flat iron is easier for doing the ends of the hair – this straightening brush was not much help at the ends of my hair, when there’s nothing left to pull it taut. I find a flatiron pulls more, whereas the brush glides better. A the end of the day, I’ll probably use a combination of the two whenever I straighten my hair at home, but for travel I’ll take a flatiron because it gets the ends better.
