Expensive but super moisturizing, smell is either a love it or hate it

This is definitely a luxury hand lotion. The bottle is lovely and classy and looks really nice out, you don’t have to tuck this in a nightstand. The fragrance might not for everyone. I like it it, but it’s rather strong when you first put it on. It reminds me of some of the higher priced lotions I’ve tried in fancy/expensive gift shops. I’m not a fan of that first few minutes, but then it relaxes into a lighter softer fragrance that I do enjoy. And if I put it on before bed, I can still smell it faintly in the morning. As for the moisturizing effect, I’m impressed. It’s a thicker lotion and a little goes a long way. It soaks in nicely and leaves a really soft, velvety feel to my hands. After a minute or two it isn’t wet or sticky at all. I don’t tend to use it during the day if I’m going to be washing my hands a lot, but putting some on at night after dishes and watching tv it works well to moisturize my hands. I put a little more on before bedtime and I’ve seen a difference. I wish it wasn’t so expensive and the smell was a little lighter, but I’ll fully enjoy this bottle.

Quiet, Sophisticated Hand Balm That Feels as Beautiful as It Looks

I’ve used Oak Essentials products for years, so I had fairly high expectations for this hand balm. Their products tend to feel thoughtfully formulated rather than complicated for the sake of being complicated, and this one is very much in keeping with that philosophy.First, despite being called a balm, I find the consistency much closer to a luxurious lotion. It dispenses readily from the pump, spreads beautifully and absorbs without leaving my hands feeling greasy or coated. I use a full pump for both hands and carry the excess up over my wrists. My skin is left noticeably softer and comfortable, but I can go about whatever I’m doing without waiting for something heavy to sink in.The Cashmere Musk fragrance surprised me, especially because I’m very sensitive to scent. I first pick up a gentle waft of vetiver, grassy, herbal and grounding. This is followed by soothing lavender before it settles into a subtle warmth of soft musk.And this is worth clarifying: don’t read “musk” and think of the heavy musk fragrances of decades ago. This isn’t that at all. Oak Essentials doesn’t use animal musk, this is synthetic musk. The musk here is soft, warm and restrained. There is very little carry beyond my immediate personal space, although I can continue to detect it lightly on my skin afterward. I actually found the fragrance much gentler than I expected.The formula includes mango butter, coconut probiotic and vitamin B5. The mango isn’t part of the fragrance, so don’t expect this to smell fruity or tropical. The scent remains decidedly herbal, woodsy and warm.I’ve been applying it after washing my hands, although I don’t find that I need it after every wash. I’ve generally been using it about twice a day because both the moisturized feeling and that very soft fragrance linger. At approximately one full pump per application, an 11-ounce bottle should last me quite a while.Then there’s that smoked glass bottle. This is one of those rare products I don’t want to tuck into a drawer. It looks beautiful sitting beside the sink on my vanity. In fact, I liked it enough that I purchased another for our guest bathroom. Family members have already commented on how pretty it is, and I love having little extras like this available for guests. Something as simple as beautiful hand balm beside the sink can make someone feel a little pampered and cared for while they’re in my home.The fragrance is understated, the lotion-like balm feels lovely on my hands, and the presentation is gorgeous. Absolutely love this for dry hands

I’m very impressed with this hand balm so far. I have tried a handful of other oak essentials products and unfortunately I’ve been impressed every time. I say unfortunately because generally these products are out of my budget, and I always hope that I won’t like them so that I can feel better about not being able to afford expensive skincare, but I usually end up really impressed and wishing I could get more of it.. that being said, I was skeptical that this hand balm would do anything more than the average drug store hand lotion, but I’ve been proven wrong. After applying this lotion, my hands felt noticeably softer and more velvety. I asked my husband to start using it, because he has recently had a pretty terrible dermatitis outbreak on his hands. Combination of a lot of manual yardwork and being a father to a two year-old has led him to over-washing his hands very frequently, and our poor water quality has led to him having horribly dry and cracked skin and patches of red irritated scabs all over his hands. He applies a variety of different hand lotions daily, but the condition of his hands hasn’t improved until he started using this a few days ago.I’m not kidding when I say that after just a couple of days of using this throughout the day, the dry scabs on his hands have softened and a lot of the inflammation has decreased. his hands haven’t fully returned to normal yet, but they are absolutely beginning to feel softer and less dry and cracked. Whatever combination of ingredients are in this must be the right ones for his skin.As for the smell: yes, it is heavily fragrance. He keeps it on his desk in his office and every time he applies the lotion, I can smell it from down the hall. Thankfully, it is a fragrance I’m a huge fan of. I love warm musky smells. It smells really luxurious to me, almost like a boutique, hotel lobby, but I can absolutely see how some people would hate it. This is going to be a totally subjective part, but I will just say that the fragrance is very strong and it lingers so if you’re sensitive to that you might not enjoy this.It comes in a generous sized and premium looking (and heavy) glass bottle. Yes it is expensive for hand lotion, but I have been impressed with the results so far and would consider investing in this again if we keep getting good results from it.

Luxurious lotion with a very strong scent

This is a very luxurious moisturizing lotion with very premium packaging and brand name. The scent is very strong and perfumy which for someone else is probably lovely, but in my house we tend to stay more unscented. The feel of the lotion is nice on the hands and does a good job of moisturizing. But I found that even after washing my hands the scent stayed and almost seemed stronger, so if you are looking for a scented lotion that has some staying power, this is for you. The 11oz size is a great size for having out, it looks a lot nicer than the value brands that come in giant plastic pump bottles, so on that front, the price point makes more sense as this is a quality glass bottle. The pump can be toggled on or off by twisting. The box I received was a little beat up, but otherwise, this would make a lovely gift for someone who appreciates perfumes and luxury brands.
