Pleasantly surprised! Like Salon Shampoo!
(Backstory, skip forward for list of Pros) I have tried this brand of shampoo before and it wasn’t anything special. The smell, effect on my hair, amount I needed to use to cover my scalp. I thought I’d give this brand a second try with their purple shampoo and it was such a better experience!! It felt like salon shampoo to me!Pros: 1)Sulfate free 2)Concentrated. Some sulfate free shampoos don’t lather and feel drying and like they are mostly water so you feel like you need more shampoo to get your hair clean. And then you need extra conditioner after to undue all the dryness. This is thick. A little goes a long way. 3)Dark purple color. I read that the darker the color, usually the more effective it is. This is super dark and I noticed a difference on my brassiness after one use. I put it on and lathered and left it on while I shaved. 4)Pleasant smell. Fragrance is very personal I know. To me this smells lovely and luxurious. Maybe a little fruity, a little floral, a little vanilla. If you can’t do fragrance at all, I would skip this. 5)So smooth! I don’t think I’ve ever used a shampoo that made my hair feel this good. It feels soft when rinsing the shampoo out. I still use conditioner because my hair is long and tangles but I actually may not need to with this shampoo. It feels so silky! If I use my same conditioner, same leave in spray conditioner, and style it the same, it turns out looking healthier and shinier and I know the only thing I did differently is the shampoo. This is a winner!I have wavy hair, medium density, not super thin or super thick, dirty blonde with some blonder highlights in front.

It’s really purple!
I have silver-gray hair compliment of my paternal grandmother and know how important it is to keep the yellow away. I had used a different purple shampoo for the past 10 years or so, ever since I stopped coloring my hair to hide the fact I am gray. I saw this and am familiar with the company so thought I would try it. I wasn’t expecting it to be this purple! To be honest, I am afraid to use it full strength for more than 1 day. So I mix it about 50/50 with another shampoo I like and it’s still pretty purple but at least I don’t feel like I will have purple hair. Still, my habit has been to use it twice a week and my hair is beautifully silver, no yellow and no purple after at 2 months of use. It has a clean smell, doesn’t dry my hair since we have naturally soft water in my area. I don’t feel the need to use conditioner much as all. The bottle did not leak in transit, it was well protected.

I’m always on the hunt for purple shampoos that actually work. The ones I do like & do work are a bit too pricey for me at the moment & especially since my hair is super long & thick, I go through those purple shampoos pretty quickly. I thought I’d give this one a try as I’m familiar with this brand & use to purchase the keratin shampoo/conditioner which I liked. I had to go through the reviews to see how this lather as I prefer it to lather purple on my hair which it changes to white when left on for it to work. Reviewers said it does lather purple…..BUT it does not. Once you attempt to lather it on your hair, it lathers white. As for the effectiveness of this purple shampoo, It doesn’t seem to be cancelling out any brassiness in my hair either. It also dries out my already damaged dried hair which I didn’t like either. The only thing I liked about this was the scent.

This purple shampoo really works to keep blonde/ highlights staying bright and fresh. I have well water and my blonde can start looking dull and brassy after 3-4 weeks of getting hair done. This works great. I use 1-2 times a week, let it sit in a larger on hair for a couple of minutes. Don’t keep in too long because it can give you a temporary tint to your hair. It really cuts the brass and yellow!
