    Parker Version 2

Yes it is the version 2, version 1 did not have the Parker logo etched on the handle.Bear with me here, this may be long winded …Loading this razor is like loading any other injector. Watch carefully as you load a razor, most issues with dull razors are due to the blade edge dragging across the guard cap on the outside edge. To prevent this issue when you insert the injector, slightly twist the the key counter clock wise as this will open the gap and allow the blade to be inserted without the razors cutting edge rubbing against the guard cap on the loading guard cap side. After loading the blade ensure that each end is seated into the guard caps. If they are not seated equal you can have a different gap at each end which will give a bad shave. One side will bite into your skin deeper than the shallow side.Another issue with these types of razor is beard preparation. Hydrated soft beards produce better results. For me canned cream is a no go, a good hydrating shave soap is key. This is not your faster multi blade, canned goo shave here. Think old school grandfather shaving. Enjoy the preparation, the shave, the time to take care of personal grooming without any rush.Shave angle is important with this razor. Feel the blade against your face, use less pressure than a multi blade cartridge, adjust your angle. Once again this is a shaver designed in 1926 so use some old fashioned technique. Now onto the razor itself:Pro’s: Adjustable, Quick change out of blades, Handle has textured surface on inside for better grip while wet. Well built, mostly metal construction for durability.Con’s: May not be good beginner razor, especially for those used to multi blade cartridges. Loading blades without attention to detail can make this razor seem inferior while shaving by dulling the blade during loading. May not shave well with an under prepared beard routine.

I really wanted to like this …

The concept of injection razors makes a lot of sense to me. One of the biggest problems with double-edged safety razors is their wide heads, which are not easy to get into tight spaces like under the nose or around the jaw line. So I wanted to like this new thinner more modern “injection” design. And maybe it does … given another brand’s implementation … but not this one by Parker.Because this particular razor is pretty bad. They skimped corners everywhere. The plastic handle has rough and pointy edges. The metal part of the handle is so sharp in places it’s borderline dangerous. Every bit of metal looks like they used the cheapest option they could get away with without it falling apart. There’s a weld seam at the top of the razor they artfully (mostly) hide in the photos. It’s obviously built to a price point, and that price point is low.All of which could be forgiven if the shave was actually good. But it’s not. It’s possibly the worst shave of my life. The blades provided are not at all sharp. Blood city. I tried several different blades just to make sure the one included inside the razor wasn’t a fluke. Nope, they were all bad.Even at setting 1 (the most mild) it’s way more aggressive than nearly every other razor I’ve ever used. At setting 5 you might as well just use a straight razor with the amount of blade you have dragging across your face.Perhaps if you have very tough skin and soft hair this razor will work for you. But if you have fair / sensitive skin and/or anything other than the lightest of hair, I can’t even imagine this working.I don’t like giving products bad reviews, but in this case I must. This thing is pretty bad. I like the concept, but the implementation is terrible.

    as advertised

Having cut myself often enough while changing blades on double edged safety razors (my own clumsiness partly), as well as getting shaving nicks from the razors themselves, I liked the injector design, which significantly reduces any contact with the blades while switching them. The somewhat retro design appealed to me, as well. The Parker injector shaves nicely, and the cost of the razor and blades is reasonable.

    The worse shave ever

It could be me – user error. I didn’t change the setting from 1 and it was barely shaving. When I set it to the most aggressive setting, it worked better. At the end, I had cuts (not nicks) and the most severe razor burn ever, with a shave that was mediocre and far from BBS. The very best razor I’ve tried is the Henson ** in titanium – no weepers or nicks or razor burn, and BBS every time. I don’t know if the injector blade was not sharp enough or there was a problem with the angle of the blade. I needed more pressure and passes to remove my beard. Oh, and I began with pre-shave oil, and ample lather. After I used the alum bar to stop the bleeding and ease the burn / irritation, and applying an astringent after-shave, and after-shave balm, my face is still raw hours after the shave. For wet (DE) shaving, the Henson is the best designed, the Velocity One, the Futur, Envoy, and Konsul adjustable slant are excellent / first-rate; before (and still today) I love the Gillette multiblade cartridges – BBS shave mostly every time, no razor burn or weepers. Why shift to wet shaving? To try something new. Shaving with multi-blades is a bit mindless and boring at times.

Pretty good really would buy the blades again

I bought this because I bought the schick one that they have on Amazon and with the schick blades were terrible cuts my face or nicks only git one good shave from blade from it the rest were horrible or average or less then I tried the supply razor and it was smoother but gave me razor burn at times I wanted to love this type of razor I like the style and function but the shave was not great then I heard Parker made a adjustable injector razor so I wanted to try it. I would say that I would keep this one because it did better than the other ones and the blades are good with the schick or supply I had to switch blades as I was shaving because after the first pass I would get the blade less sharp and pull my hair or scratching my skin which were causing nicks which is why I had to switch a new blade into the razor. But the Parker blades I think are more platinum blades which is better I think but cuts great. The result from this Parker adjustable razor is that I think it is good it shave well I did get a few nicks but small ones the other injectors gave me razor burns and aftershave splash would burn tremendously but this was good way better then the others with there blades they have for them so I would give this like a 4.3 or 4.5 because the shave was good but it did not shave to bbs which what I like to get but did 90 percent of my hair which may need more practice and it gave me nicks but a few that’s why I think this is 4.5 stars try not to listen to the other reviews all the YouTube videos about this razor had been good for them I think the people that bough the razor injector razor were new to it. My recommendation is buy a safety razor instead either Rockwell is really good or Gillette king c gillette is really good too, Parker razors to me are good too but can be aggressive, weishi is good but less expensive and there Edwin jagger and merkur in fact get any safety razor that you may choose and practice using before trying this razor it gets time to get use to it and the safety razor blades are cheaper than the injector blades , Pennie’s to dollars with injector blades. Safety razor blades can be 2 dollars for five blades compared to injectors blades being 8 dollars for seven to eight and in my experience the safety razor double edge blades are far better, sharper and smoother than the injector but the Parker blades for this injector are good. But if you had use the injectors get the Parker adjustable injector razor I think it is a good razor and I am keeping mine but choose it if you want to try it don’t listen to the reviews but if it is not for you than just get the safety razor you will be happy with them I promise they are a good buy. But this razor is a good buy too in my opinion.

Very well built and balanced razor!

I’ve used a replaceable blade safety razor for 30 years, and have settled on my old Merkur as my favorite. This is my first injectable cartridge razor. The blades supplied with the Parker are sharp and good quality. The adjustable blade gap is a genius design. It allows the user to adjust how aggressive they want their shave to be.I love how smoothly the razor glides and the weight is perfect. The Parker will last any user a very long time with its impressive build quality. And you’ll actually enjoy, and look forward to shaving again because of it.With a price point as good as this, I highly recommend the Parker to anyone looking for a close shave and a quality razor.

    Au top 👌👌👌👌

    Perfect

Dit scheert heel goed. Mesjes blijven lang scherp. Door de stelknop kan je echt een minder agressieve scheerbeurt hebben. Bij een gevoelige huid en harde baard haren is dit een uitkomst. Minder wondjes dan met een safety razor.

    Most excellent razor

Looks like the vintage PAL razor from the 1960’s. Good shave and the adjustability is great. My only complaint is it’s very light.

Mild razor on settings one and two – works for a head shave.

This is a mild razor and I have used it primarily for head shaves. I changed the blade that came with it and used a new Parker injector blade for 2 head shaves and followed it up with a new Schick injector blade for another 2 head shaves. The settings I used on the razor were 1 and 2 – although I could not tell the difference between the two settings, nor could I tell the difference between the Parker and Schick injector blades. The difficulty I found in using this razor was when shaving the back of my head. It was difficult to find the correct shaving angle and after a couple of attempts, I ended up finishing off each shave with a cartridge razor. Maybe getting used to this razor might help, but with an open blade one has to be careful about getting cut.The sides and back of the handle are made of plastic and have a grip so it is not an all metal razor. The head appears to be made up of zinc alloy and the adjustment attempts to open up the blade gap, but there was nothing that I could observe even while turning the dial all the way to “6” and back to “1”. I only attempted to shave on settings 1 and 2 and both of those are mild settings – both gave a nice comfortable shave.I’m not sure whether this razor is a keeper for the long term. It has a slightly flimsy build and does not have the tactile feel of a CNC machined razor – the price point reflects that. Perhaps if Parker decided to come out with a CNC stainless steel razor in the same or improved design, that might satisfy the durability question. For now, you do get what you paid for.

A Modern Injector Razor That’s Already A Classic

I have a lot of razors, both vintage and modern, most of them double edge safety razors and recently have dipped my toe into the world of injector razors, including three vintage Schicks.I have another Parker razor, the SoloEdge, which I really like and wanted to try a modern injector style razor. This is a great value: an excellent razor (adjustable too!) AND 20 blades for well under $40.It was worth the gamble and I’m glad I took a chance because it is an outstanding razor. Keep in mind, you have to hold the razor at a different angle but once that is mastered (which takes about one minute) you will be rewarded with an amazingly smooth shave. The blades that are included are excellent, made by Personna in the U.S. and should give you up to 10 shaves or beyond, although your mileage may vary.Overall a delightful razor, one that I’d recommend to anybody interested in an injector style razor.
