This heated brush works wonders on dry, frizzy hair!
I have used many different hair tools to try to find the perfect ones for my hair. I have color treated, naturally curly, but frizzy hair, so I either blow dry the roots, apply curling/anti-frizz mousse, and let it mostly air dry, or I attempt to tame my hair with heat protectant and a variety of tools. My current favorite hot tool is an oval shaped blow dry brush, but I recently ordered two different heated brushes for use on dry hair to test. This is my review of the Stylefi Ionic Hair Straightener Brush. It is intended for use on dry hair only, and it has ceramic coated heated bristles to help tame and smooth hair.I tried it one day when I was in a hurry and had to let my hair mostly air dry after a shower after pulling it back into a pony tail, and then I returned to style it later, so my hair was a frizzy, curly mess. Normally I do not attempt to straighten my hair after letting it air dry like that because I can never get it as smooth as I could if I styled it immediately after washing it. I reviewed the instruction manual, and I can understand why people could have difficulty setting the temperature on this brush, because the manual leaves out important details. The first time I used a brush like this I became very frustrated with the controls for the temperature settings because it heated up to a higher temperature than I wanted, and I could not lower the temperature. I learned that the trick is that you have to select the temperature ASAP after turning the brush on, and then it locks in that temperature. Then it will default to that temperature the next times that you use the brush. If you want to change the temperature, you have to turn it off and then on again and change it to your preferred temperature immediately. That will become the new default temperature, so you don’t have to reset it again. Pressing the temperature control button after the brush has been on for a while does nothing, but it was probably designed that way intentionally so that you don’t accidentally change the temperature while using the brush. This trick worked perfectly for me, and I was able to select the lowest of the five different temperature settings, which was the safest choice for my color damaged hair.I sectioned my hair with clips and used heat protectant spray, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well the brush worked. My hair was not as smooth and flat as it would have been with a flat iron or if I had used a higher temperature, but I was pleased with the dramatic improvement that it made to my frizzy, messy hair, even though I used the lowest and gentlest setting. I only used this brush on one side of my head, and I used another brush that I was testing on the other side, and they seemed to perform equally well. I noticed that although the brushes had very different color schemes, they were extremely similar, and they were both marked as model no. SM-229.Overall, I was very happy with the performance of this heated brush. It worked very quickly and tamed my dry, frizzy hair into a more manageable style, which is very hard for me to do if my hair air dries before I can style it. It seems a little pricey at the current price of $59.99, but it’s a great styling tool, and they may have sales or coupons on this model in the future.

Quick, Easy Styling with Smooth Results, But Lock Feature Not Mentioned Anywhere In Instructions
I am always trying new hair tools because I love finding things that make styling quicker and easier while still giving really good results. I have quite a few tools already, but I’m always on the lookout for something that can simplify my routine, especially for everyday styling. So when I saw this plasma straightening brush, it looked like a really easy way to smooth and style my hair without having to use a traditional flat iron.This is actually a really nice tool, especially for how affordable it is. The quality is great and you can tell it’s really well made. It feels solid and not like a cheap plastic hair tool. It also comes with a styling glove and instructions, which I do like having included.Using it is pretty straightforward overall. It has two buttons, one for power and one for temperature. The only thing that was a little confusing at first was changing the temperature. I kept pressing the temperature button and nothing was happening. Only after playing around with it, did I figure out the temperature locks and you have to press the power button twice to unlock it. That wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the instructions either, which is weird. I would think that would be an important detail to mention, espeically because it affects being able to operate it. At first, I thought the I received was broken because of that.It does take a little time to heat up. It heats gradually, usually about 2 degrees per second, sometimes a little faster. So if you’re going up to something like 360°, it takes a couple of minutes. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. I do like that it shows the real time temperature as it heats up and cools down. There are five heat settings including 250°, 280°, 320°, 360°, and 450°, which gives you good control depending on your hair type. Once it’s heated though, it actually works really well. My hair glides through it smoothly and it didn’t really pull or snag. I maybe lost a couple strands, but way less than most tools like this. After about two passes, my hair was straight but still had movement and life to it. It looked smooth and shiny and didn’t feel dry or damaged. It’s comfortable to use and has a nice balance to it. It has a little weight so it feels sturdy, but not enough to make your arms tired. The cord is long, about 6 feet, and swivels 360 degrees so you have plenty of flexibility while styling.One thing I really like is the anti scald design. The outer bristles help protect your face and ears from the heated plates in the center. If you press hard enough you can still get burnt, but for the most part, if accidentally touching your skin it does not burn you. It feels much safer to use than a traditional flat iron. You can also use it to slightly curl or shape your hair, not just straighten it, which adds some versatility.At the current price of $28.49 (as of 4/4/26), I think this is an incredible value. Overall, this is a really easy to use, effective styling tool that actually delivers. It smooths and straightens while still leaving your hair looking healthy and shiny. I’ve been really impressed with how it performs and have been reaching for it often. Highly recommend.

Excellent Straightener Brush
The Plasma Hair Straightener Brush works very well on my hair. I used it on my hair and on my human/synthetic hair wigs. The brush heats up quite fast, in less than 30 seconds. The temperature settings are 250F-450F which works well for me especially when using the brush on synthetic hair. I must use on a lower setting than when I’m using the brush on my own hair or on my human hair wigs. My hair is never staticky when I use this brush. It also helps rid frizzes. My hair feels really silky when I use this brush. The brush also makes my hair shine. The brush is easy to use and now it is in my favorite tools list. I like how the brush protects from getting burned by the make of the brush. I don’t have to worry about the burns on my scalp because it is safe. The price was also good. This brush is a great buy for the money. I would recommend this product.

Budget friendy option
This is one of those products that almost delivers everything you want—and still has some solid wins.I felt like it definitely has versatility going for it. It heats up super fast, handles thick or curly hair better than most budget tools, and the ceramic helps reduce frizz so your hair actually looks smooth and polished instead of puffed out after it gets hot enough and you make enough passes through your hair with it. The glove is also a nice touch—small detail, but genuinely helpful, I tried it once.That said, it didn’t quite live up to what I was hoping for. The “all-in-one” concept sounds amazing, but in practice, it feels like each function is just good, not great. The curls don’t hold as long as I expected without extra product, and switching between styling styles isn’t as seamless as it seems. It also takes a bit of a learning curve to get the results you want consistently. I have pretty thick, wavy hair and it takes me several tries and I have to hold it in my hair to really get it straightened out so that’s why I went with 4 stars. It still gets the job done and it feels like if you wanted to try one on a budget, this is a good choice.Overall, it’s a decent, budget-friendly multi-tool that can get the job done—just don’t expect salon-level results right out of the box.

This is the best hair straightener I’ve ever used.Pros: This straightener seems to be very high quality.My hair is naturally wavy bordering on curly which I wear naturally often. However, sometimes straight is also nice, but if I do not straighten it in just the right way then I end up with frizzy dull hair.This straightening brush makes it a breeze to get the smooth glossy look. It does not seem to dry out my hair and gives it a beautiful shine when finished.The device is lightweight and easy to hold. It glides right through hair which is much preferred to a standard flat iron that just presses it. The brush means there is no risk of creasing at all.It functions well and the craftsmanship seems terrific.The cord is a nice length. I prefer having a cord as the cordless ones rarely do a good job when trying to straighten.Cons: none with the device.The product title is misleading as this is NOT a curling iron.
