In my 50s. Entire life never really had a thick enough beard to keep one looking good; but at same time shaving sensitive skin especially neck would usually feel slightly sore after the shave no matter what aloe or other creams used and during changing of the seasons summer to fall, winter to spring, perhaps related to air conditioning or heated rooms, my neck might break out with raw red bumps from shaving. Painful and ugly. I am sure there are other products out there to help but this one has done the job above and beyond the call of duty for me. And ordering it from Amazon makes it easy. Have not had soreness or redness since beginning to use about year and half ago so have made it thru the seasons without incident. I like the liquid consistency, not too thin not to thick. My Lady suggested I use it like a moisturizer and please don’t revoke my Man Card but I began that about 3 months ago; after liberally applying to the area I shaved, I then lightly apply over my face, nose ears and back of neck; seems to help keep my skin from drying out and is not oily or pore blocking at all that I can tell. That part may not work for you but for me it seems to and regardless, I obey the Lady. Top notch product.

Way better than my regular stuff
Before I give out my opinion about the Proraso After Shave Balm, I have to say the following: I have been using the Nivea aftershave balm for quite some time and I can only say positive things about it, it’s an alcohol-free formulation, it has a clean, mild scent, has a great, light consistency, feels great on my skin and has a great price. it’s an all around great product, but the Proraso aftershave balm can make all of those things better.The Proraso balm has an elegant, citrusy fragrance that is not overbearing, it has better, heavier consistency than the Nivea, but still feels light on the skin, it applies clean and absorbs quickly and does not feel oily afterwards, my face feels clean and rejuvenated, and it takes care of any irritation inmediately.My only complaint is the price, I can get 3 niveas for the price of one proraso, but I will gladly spend 15 bucks for something that’s going to do a great job soothing myr face after scraping it with a knife. I will buy this again without a doubt, I really recommend it.

Excellent feel, not greasy
I’d been using Nivea Sensitive shave balm for a lot of years. Excellent product… until they changed the formulation recently. The new stuff has a decidedly greasy feel and that led me to search for a decent replacement. I’d known about Proraso’s balm but never tried it until now. I have to say that, while it is more expensive than Nivea’s balm, I also think it is better. It has a scent but it is pleasant and very light.Since I bought this, I contacted Nivea who told me they were switching back to the old formula because of the complaints they’d received. I may try switching back to Nivea when this Proraso runs out. Or not. This stuff is very nice, not greasy, has a great feel and scent. If they really do bring back the old Nivea balm formula, I may simply switch back because it is way cheaper than the Proraso. That’s the only down side I see for it. Proraso is otherwise a really fantastic shave balm.UPDATE: Nivea sent me coupons for 3 free bottles of their revised formula, which they claim is the old, non-greasy formula. Can confirm the replacement balm is like the old formula. Have to shout out to Nivea customer service for taking their customer’s concerns seriously. Thank you, Nivea, for the replacements. I am still liking the Proraso balm very much but am down to the last of it. I’ll use that up and switch back to Nivea. If the old Nivea doesn’t work out, I have to say I’d switch permanently to Proraso.

Good but not great
While I appreciate the Aloe and vitamin E, I feel that this balm really needs panthenol and maybe some 2% niacinamide to be complete. It does soothes the skin but it is not as hydrating as Nivea and is not anywhere near as good as the Art of Shaving balm. On the good side, a little goes a long way and it will last a long time so it is not a bad investment if budged is a concern.

Poraso After Shave Balm
Poraso is a very good reputable brand for quality shaving products for men.Any of their after shave balms soothe and cool razor burn and irritation after shaving and keep your skin looking and feeling great.I only use Poraso mens shaving products. Its a must for me.

Excellent for Sensitive Skin
This is a great addition to Proraso’s shaving system. I have sensitive skin on my neck. This provides a very cool soothing treatment after shaving and eliminates razor burn. So far the best that I have tried. Should be used with the Proraso pre-shave treatment and the shaving soap with a badger hair brush for full effect.

It’s fine. I bought this as a replacement for. N*v*a for men soothing, because the chamomile sent was so overwhelming, and very unbecoming of a man in his mid 40s in an office in environment..All in all, it’s not a lot of bang for the buck. but it does a good job at fixing some very glaring problems and some similar yet less expensive soothing post shave balmsProraso blue definitely has some pros and cons which I’m happy to tell you aboutPro:1. a pleasant masculine sent that is not overwhelming and does not seek to be the star of the show. (I would actually prefer this better if it were completely unscented, but the fact that the scent is so light is a welcome change.)It does what it is supposed to do. It brings soothing post shave without being greasy.Con:1. it is a little more viscous coming out of the bottle meaning it does not spread as far as aftershave balms with a slightly more watery consistency to the lotion. That being said, this is a small con and the lotion itself is still not greasy, which is also welcome.2. It is twice the price of what I was using before, however, I think at least for now I’m willing to pay a little more to not be overwhelmed with the scent of chamomile and to have something a little darker and less aggressive smelling.
