    Effective, But Perfumed

    This paste is labeled as 100% batana oil, with no artificial ingredients. It certainly looks, feels, and functions like batana oil products I have used previously. When used as a pre-shampoo intensive, it really moisturizes and conditions my hair.I would give this product five stars, but this product smells quite perfumed, which is not characteristic of batana oil. So I suspect that even though the label says otherwise, there are some additives.

    I’m a believer now

    I saw Batana oil everywhere so I finally decided to give it a try, and I am almost sorry to report that it lives up to the hype.I don’t really have a problem with thinning hair, but I do have some breakage and split ends. I used a very light coating of this oil as a hair mask on my ends and saw results after the first use. My husband has started using it as a beard oil, and is absolutely in love with it.But what I really love this for is skincare. Just a little smoothed over my dry skin absorbs almost instantly and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated, and smelling absolutely amazing. It’s so hard to describe the scent if you’ve never smelled it. It’s not quite floral, not quite woody, not quite fruity, but it smells a bit of each. It is a pretty strong scent at first, but it does soften relatively quickly.At the currently listed price of $15.58 ($3.71/fl oz) this is in the low-mid range of this kind of product. And as a little goes a long way (at least for my purposes), it is going to last a long time and is well worth the cost.

    My wife swears by this stuff.

    She also constantly blames me for using it but I swear I’ve never used it once!She does have really thin hair caused by some of the medication she’s on, and she has tried lots of different things over the years to help mitigate that. This really seems to be one of her favorites and she says this is a great deal because a little goes a long way.Also, despite the fact that I constantly tell her her hair smells like bananas she loves to inform me that it’s BATANA oil, not banana oil.

    Light fresh scent

    First of all, I have to say this product has a very pleasant smell. I tried some other hair oil and the odor was off putting. This has a light clean smell. The product is similar in consistency to shortening or butter. It’s a little tricky to apply it to the scalp, which is where it needs to be in order to promote new hair growth. It’s recommended to use 2-3 times per week for 8-12 weeks before seeing results. It is difficult for me to do this because I only wash my hair 2x per week.I haven’t seen any new hair growth since I started using it, but I am not very consistent and usually only apply it once per week. My hair does feel good afterwards and I think the overall condition of my hair is better. I can’t in good conscience give it a 5 star rating as I just don’t know whether it actually delivers as promised when used as recommended.

    Doesn’t seem like Batana oil to me

    This is not a “bad” product. It’s not totally useless. But I don’t like the way it’s presented. I’ve used other Batana oils before, and this is nothing like those others. It doesn’t smell like the others that I’ve used that also claimed to be 100% natural and raw. This smells very strong, perfumed, like hair conditioner. It smells like it would burn if you got it in your eyes, and it doesn’t smell natural at all. Not even a little. There are no other ingredients listed besides the Batana oil, but it doesn’t smell like what I know Batana oil to smell like, which is earthy and nutty, and a little like coffee. It has a pleasant but not strong smell, but it smells natural. In the same kind of way that cocoa butter smells pleasant and a little sweet but still natural. And doesn’t smell like it would burn your eyes if it got in there like a shampoo or conditioner would. This product has a very strong scent but it smells good at least. It’s not even a specific scent I can describe. Just very perfumed, and a conditioner, even though they have flavors, is all I can liken it to. Also, it’s oil. That’s what you’re marketing it as. So real Batana oil should be normally used as that. They are presenting it as a conditioner. And it also claims to regrow hair. That’s literally all they claim it to be for. It doesn’t do that that I’ve noticed. And if it’s Batana oil and that’s all, you should be able to use it for everything, all over your body like cocoa butter or shea butter. They present it as a conditioner so they should call it that. I also just simply do not believe that it doesn’t have any other ingredients in it. BUT it does smell good, it does soften your hair and makes it a little more manageable if you use it like a hair oil. Because that’s what I’ve always used it for I oiled my scalp with it, and used it on my hair for styling. It’s actually not even as oily as some I’ve used. It doesn’t feel or smell like you can or should rub it on your skin also, but batana oil is supposed to be able to be used for that. It has the consistency of a soft shea butter. As a conditioner the way they say to use it…..it works like any other fairly decent conditioner. There wasn’t anything spectacular about this product. I didn’t notice any hair growth, and I personally don’t believe it’s 100% Batana oil. I wouldn’t buy it again.

    Feels so soft after use

    This raw Batana oil has been amazing for my hair. It leaves it softer, stronger, and really nourished without feeling greasy or heavy. It’s more of a paste, but a little goes a long way and it smells really nice. The clean ingredients are a bonus, and the price is very reasonable for how well it works.

    Perfume Scent but works

    This banana oil arrived promptly. Upon opening the jar the perfume smell indicated this is not 100% batana oil. It does have a pleasant scent. The color is spot on for what it should be. The texture is smooth and melts in your hands as it should. I did give it a try as a prepoo and my hair is so soft. So I’m giving a four out of five given that the perfume scent which is pleasant but also indicates that it is not 100% pure. The cost I believe is fair for the all that you receive and the results.
