Yes, it really does work.
I’m currently beyond the point of wondering if the steel bee is actually doing anything or not. It’s without a doubt extended the life of my razor.While I am a double edge safety razor guy for my face I do use a cartridge razor for my chest and always wondered why my cartridge would dull faster and not cut as close as my safety razors despite having 3-4 additional blades. The answer may be in the wet environment my shower razor is subjected too and this product definitively remedies that.The steel bee is easy to use. It pops on effortlessly and grips the razor tight. It also has a rubber base that helps it grip surfaces and slightly elevates the razor which allows for more efficient evaporation further preventing rust and corrosion.The blade I’m using has far outlived it lubrication strip so I have to use a little extra soap but the blade itself is still kicking hard and I see no signs of it slowing down. If I can get one more week of shaves the steel bee has paid for itself.Hopefully there is a large enough market and steel bee can make a model for old school double edge razor blades. There are a few vintage blades that I’ve really liked but are Discontinued and only sold from private sellers thus too expensive to be viable for me. If a steel bee was made to extend the life of these types of blades it would open up a whole new world to me and other wet shavers out there.. *cough cough*UPDATE: My review was written on September 11th. As of December 2nd my Dorco Pace 6 cartridge has officially kicked the can. That’s simply incredible. The steel bee has paid for it self ten fold already. If the steel bee itself lasts aslong as they claim this will cut my shaving costs to about nothing.

Does it’s job, but could be improved upon.
I purchase my razors from Dollar Shave Club and have been wanting a travel case/cover that is small and compact. This fits that need and would fit virtually any commercially sold disposable razor set (my husband purchases Gillette razors and it fits those too).If I were to improve upon the design I would make it a bit more snug. If I tossed this in my toiletry travel bag there is 50/50 chance it will stay on the razor. It only grips the razor head from the sides and can easily slide off the top or bottom of the razor. I have yet to have to come all the way off, but it usually isn’t in the same place I attached it in.In place of anything else, this works.

Works for protecting hands from razor in travel bag
I didn’t buy it to prolong the life of my blades, and I don’t believe it does. But it works great for what I bought it for, which is just protecting my hands from the blades, as I root around my bathroom bag while travelling.

I have very sensitive skin and normally replace my blade every 7-10 days. I first used the SteelBee on July 5 on my Gillette Edge cartridge. It’s now August 8 and I’m still using the same blade with no irritation to my skin.

Tested for a month and it’s a gimmick
So I’ve waited to review this after using it for a full month. I have pretty course hair so I need a sharp blade. So I decided to take this on a month long trip.Started off with a brand new Gillette blade unused when leaving. I shave usually every other day. Max 72 hours without. After the first 5 shaves I noticed the blades were starting to get dull. Usually fine but this thing says it’ll keep them sharp. Ok continue on and by the end of the second week the razor was dull. Still usable but man it was not pleasant or close.This is absolutely no different than just hanging your razor up or keeping it elevated when you set it down.The ONLY thing this came in handy for was covering the razor so when I fumbled around in my toiletries I wouldn’t cut myself.Don’t buy this. It’s a gimmick and waste of money.

Great blade protection, and seems to work with any razor. I use different brands of razors, anywhere from 1 to 5 blades, and fits all. With the protective cap, just throw in your dopp bag and good to go.

Some of the razors I have don’t have any sort of cover for the razor head. Strangely, I don’t like risking cutting myself any time I reach in the drawer, and I definitely prefer not having the razor dull as it scrapes the drawer. These prevent any cut, scrapes, and even help make sure there’s no moisture, unlike a lot of razor covers. Took a little getting used to, but it is so worth it!

Sometime not the easiest to get on, but this is what I have been looking. It holds the razor and keeps it from getting dull. It’s simple, easy to use and easy to get off. It doesn’t fall off easily. While a bit pricey for what you get, so far it is the best I have found.

I was a bit skeptical about this, like most people would be. Something as simple as this can prolong the life of my pricey razor cartridges? I didn’t believe it but decided to try it. Yeah. It works!Before the Steel Bee, a razor cartridge would go bland after a week. So a four pack of those pricey name brand razor cartridges would not even last me an entire month. But honestly, after using Steel Bee on the daily after every shave- I have had the SAME razor cartridge for the past MONTH! It’s still sharp. Doesn’t tug. Doesn’t irritate my skin. No ingrown hairs. I’m not sure how this Steel Bee works exactly but I must say- it works!Some reviews say just blow dry it for same effect. I don’t have the time to sit there and blow dry a razor. (Who does?)Others say just pay dry it on a towel and it’ll be fine. I tried that. They don’t last.BUT, after every shave, I rinse razor, pat dry gently with towel and finish off with sliding the Steel Bee on and that’s it! I go on about my day.I’m definitely buying these as gifts for Father’s Day along with new razors for the guys in my life. Saves money in the long run with these dang razors that seem to keep going up in price.
