i personally have medium thickness hair with waves/slight waves, and this product works superrrr well for me. i will point out that i do lose hair when using these products but to be fair 1. its no more hair that i lose than when i use drugstore shampoo and conditioner 2. doesn’t seem like an exorbitant amount, seems to me like its the normal amount of hair to lose tbh!my hair feels so nice when i use this, thank you to blowout professor on youtube 😛 i am able to go 3 full days between washes, tbh i bet i could go more however i have bangs so my bangs get greasy faster than the rest of my hair (as is normal with shorter hair!), so i just wash all of my hair at once! recommended!!!!!EDIT 12/2025: i first started using redken’s volume injection in 2023, and i have stuck with it ever since. when i tell you it is AMAZING for my hair, i mean it. my hair feels so clean, my hair always looks great, it brings out my natural waves— volume injection just does it for me! still working amazing 🙂

My hair was lying so flat on the top of my head that even after using clarifying shampoos, it just was flat. I have used this product twice so far and the shampoo is great, suds up nicely and my hair is clean. It is lightweight as well, thus the volume.The conditioner, well it also is lightweight, rinses out much easier and better than other conditioners I have used in the past. So again, since it does rinse out so well, it does not weigh down my hair and I have noticed more volume. I do use a leave in conditioner after I get out of the shower as well. And others have noticed my hair has a bit more volume now.

Actually makes a noticeable difference
I’ve tried a lot of different shampoos and conditioners for my hair and my daughters. I’ve never before noticed an immediate difference. My hair has more volume, took longer to dry, is less frizzy (i’ve been trying to reduce frizz for years and nothing but straightening works) and smells great. My daughters hair usually gets tangled and clumpy and oily in front but her hair lasted days, had more shine and looked amazing. She noticed the difference as well. Highly recommend this. Can’t wait to use it more and see.

Hair silky. Lifeless goes a long way. Hair were noticeably healthier looking without weight. I have hard time finding shampoo for my hair, but so far no purchase regrets. I love scented products/essential oils, but the scent of this shampoo I am not a fan of, but with the way my hair feels I am closing my eyes on the scent.

Great shampoo & conditioner without any proteins
I have extremly thin gently wavy hair. This is the best shampoo & conditioner from the Redken line that I have used thus far. Product is milky and thick. A little hard to squeeze out the bottle especially when half way through. Storing upside down helps. Both shampoo & conditioner smell floral. A bit too potpourri flowers for my liking but smell doesn’t linger in the hair, luckily. Both the shampoo & conditioner spreads and absorbes easily so not much is needed. Has smooth moderate lather. Leaves my hair feeling soft and my waves more defined and bouncy. What I like about Volume Injection is that it does not have protein. Usually hair products intended for thin hair tend to have proteins to strengthen hair structure, but I find proteins puff my thin hair in an unflattering lion’s mane way. I want volume not puffines, so I appreciate that Volume Injection does not have protein.The main active ingredients in Redkens Volume Injection are filloxane and softening polymers, which preps the hair to create volume. However. It is important to note that this product doesn’t give you automatic magical volume just because you washed your hair with it. Rather this shampoo & conditioner is meant to wash your hair while providing ingredients that allow your hair to achieve body aka volume more easily and with better results when you blow out your hair. This just preps your hair. The volume itself comes from your skill set, a good blow hair brush, and hair dryer. I rarely use a hair dryer. I prefer to air dry so I know not to expect magical salon smoothness and volume. What I get is healthy, clean, soft hair with full bouncy waves. After a couple months use, however, I have noted dandruff. I have never had dandruff before. Not sure if this is coincidence or byproduct of using Volume Injection. Will have to pay closer attention. In meantime, I will give it the benefit of the doubt.

Overall, I’m really liking this shampoo and conditioner. I find that volume shampoo works really good at keeping my hair from being greasy and this one is really great! The scent is also really nice and not too strong. The conditioner keeps my hair healthy and shiny. If you have thinner that gets greasy easily, I would recommend!
