Works Great!
I own an much older philips version of this and felt it was getting dull, looking around i came across this model from Remington that appeared to be exactly the same and MUCH improved. This was also on sale at a deep discount so it was worth a try. as it turned out i was an excellent unit, trims easily and evenly, and since it’s a bigger unit than your standard beard trimmer it cuts more hair with each stroke which makes trimming your beard very fast and easy, the only thing you will need to do is break out the scissors to trim under your nose as the larger size makes it difficult. I’m fine with that as it’s not an inconvenience. The vacuum feature actually works! and the catcher is made of a fine mesh so it keeps the shaver clean. And the vacuum feature actually works, i’d say it captures about 95% of the hair cut from your beard. it’s an excellent trimmer, i’m very glad i bought it.

Well designed and easy to use.
Vacuum works well – it’s a must feature! Well designed and easy to use. I used to have a Phillips with a vacuum and this model is as good and easier to clean.Price is also 5 stars.

First Impression: 9/10
I am a simple man – my only use for a trimmer is to plane down my face to 3mm once every couple of weeks.I’ve had the Remington 4045 for about 7 years until its battery died, and it’d done a wonderful job. I decided to go for something more modern, ran into the “vaccuum” gimmick, and gave it a shot.As far as the vaccuum goes, I think 98% of my stubble stayed inside the trimmer. This is phenomenal. It is also very easy to clean. However, the adjustable comb is too soft on the “adjustable” face, and too thick on the opposed face. This caused the end result to be somewhat uneven, and also had me do manual adjustments of the mustache part directly under the nose because the blades wouldn’t reach there. As for construction, I assume the filter of the vaccuum side will eventually break down. The trimmer is unusable without it (unless you like your stubble sprayed around the room like a glitter bomb) and I could not find a replacement to buy separately. This is a shame.

Falls apart after warranty expires
I liked this trimmer at first, but MAN does it have issues toward the end of its warranty period.First, I like the adjustable trim guard and the swappable heads. I also like how easy the vacuum chamber is to clean, and it catches a decent amount of hair. Additionally, battery life and retention are also pretty good; I only really need to charge it a few times a year. This is where the positives end.Materials: I’m not one to shy away from cheap or chromed plastic, but the kind of rubber they use for the front panel on this trimmer is unacceptable. The glue that was holding it on gave up leaving two rubber strips dangling near the trimming head to dry up and crack off.Maintenance: This trimmer needs a lot of it. The package claims “self sharpening” but when it gets to the point where it needs to sharpen, the trimmer gets painfully loud when near the ears. It was pretty quiet when it was brand new, but now I need to oil each blade before every use. The detail head also eats trimmings and deposits them inside its housing instead of into the vacuum chamber, which also clogs easily with the detail head. Cleaning the regular blade is somewhat annoying but doable. Cleaning the detail head is pretty much impossible; it’s only a matter of time before it fills completely with trimmings and jams up forever. Mine has certainly slowed down over the course of my owning it.I would say this is fine as a travel trimmer that you’re not going to be upset about losing if it wasn’t for the price. It’s way overpriced for what you get. Look elsewhere.

no comfort
not comfortable, vacuum working on half power (half hairs on the ground)

Less mess, not without stress
I was getting really fed up with my bathroom getting covered in hair every time I trimmed my beard and decided to give this vacuum trimmer a try. They advertise up to 90% of trimmings being caught by the vacuum. I felt like maybe it was 80% in practice. The one thing I’ll say is I have no more hair literally launching itself forward like I used to – the stray hairs now just fall flat down into the sink mostly. One big downside to me is the flimsy, flexible blade guard. It’s only attached at the back and if you use any pressure at all you’re going to get an uneven trim that swings wildly. You have to use the lightest touch which is very difficult when getting into grooves and tight spaces of your face. The first time I used it it was pretty noticeable how inconsistent it was. The blade guard adjustments are also very tiny increments and it can be hard to get it to click into the exact number you want. Many times you put the line at one number only to have it click at the number below it. Once it’s “clicked” in, it is stopped from going lower but it will slide up to higher numbers without being stopped.Another downside is that with the vacuum chamber at the front, the blade is really far back. This makes trimming around the nose literally impossible. I could not get more than a half inch towards my nose no matter what I tried.I’ve read some people say they had to use the brush to get the hairs out as they were stuck, but that was not my experience. A light tap on the side of the garbage got it out easily. However if you have a thick or long beard, you will probably clog up the chamber and have this issue and mostly likely need to empty the chamber multiple times as it’s not very large. Unfortunately emptying it means taking off and reattaching the blade guard which is a but cumbersome. I can’t speak on it definitively, but I’d imagine you might lose some of the vacuum suction if the chamber is more full or the battery is lower. The included edge trimmer could be better. It doesn’t get as close as I’d like and does not want to catch every hair without multiple passes. My OneBlade still does this job much better and I also have to use it to get near my nose. It kind of partially defeats the purpose of a vacuum to reduce the mess only to have to use other trimmers to compensate for its shortcomings.All-in-all I’d say it does reduce the mess considerably but it’s far from a perfect product.

Best trimmer purchase in years
This Remington beard trimmer has been a great upgrade. The battery life is excellent and lasts multiple trims without needing a recharge. We went to Japan for 2.5 weeks and I didn’t even need to bring the charging cable. The adjustable guard is a huge plus as you don’t have to keep switching attachments to get the length you want, which saves time and hassle. The vacuum feature really works and makes cleanup way easier with far less hair left behind. It trims evenly, feels precise, and is easy to clean after use. Overall, a very convenient and well-designed trimmer that delivers great results.

with a vacuum
I would only ever use Beard Trimmers with a Vacuum (much tidier). This is possibly the best I have used. It’s a shame that it doesn’t use a phone charger to recharge. Easy to pull apart and clean.

Trims well, catches hair so it does not clog sink
Good selection of lengths for triming beard. Catches most of clippins, easy to then toss in trash can so easy to clean sink after.

2.5 years of use and still in great shape. Good Vacuum suction for hair.
I’ve used it for 2.5 years, and it’s still in great shape, with high-quality blades and easy operation. It captures over 95% of hair using its strong suction. Trust me, no messy counters or bathtubs.

Good for quick shaves
Works surprisingly well. The trimmer holder fills up quick and obviously can’t grab up everything but good product. I do wish it was easier to tell the length of the cut and the was a bit stronger.

Powerful vacuum. Better than the Philips Norelco!
I have owned two of the Philips Norelco vacuum beard trimmers in the past. I thought they were great and I just came to accept that while they caught a lot of the hair trimmings, quite a bit of them ended up in the sink. That was fine, I thought, at least it contained a good portion of the mess. The Remington has opened my eyes to what is possible. The vacuum suction is more powerful and, as other reviewers mentioned, the slot that pulls the clippings is much bigger so it caught much more of the hair clippings. An order of magnitude more. I have attached pictures demonstrating the difference between the slots. The chamber that holds the vacuumed trimming on the Remington has some pros and cons:Pros:1) It comes right off of the trimmer and can be easily dumped and washed out. The Philips Norelco couldn’t really be washed as there was only a door that would swing open.2) It seems to be a bigger chamber.Cons:1) It does require you to disassemble more of the trimmer to just empty the bin whereas with the Philips you just open the little door and shake it out.Overall I prefer the design of the Remington because I can keep it cleaner. As for the trimmer head/comb it’s definitely bigger than the Philips Norelco. That said, I have a separate small detail trimmer that I would use to trim close under my nose. With the Remington’s second detail head, I didn’t really need my other smaller trimmer. The detail head worked great and the suction still grabbed the trimmings. That said, I do feel like it is harder to remove the trimmer head and switch it out with the detail head. I felt like I was going to break it. Time will tell how it holds up, but for now it’s fine. The main reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because I would have liked to have seen a better way to charge it. Either an inductive charging base like my Braun BodyCruzer or a USB-C connector (or both!). I think that would make it even better.

Une honte
Je commande le produit sur le site Amazon FRANCE, je le reçois avec une prise US incompatible en France et Amazon refuse de m’envoyer un adaptateur en m’expliquant que j’aurais dû voir que cela venait des US. On marche sur la tête….
