Great for getting a clean shave
I got this Rocky Mountain Barber Company shaving cream mostly out of curiosity, since it’s made here in Canada and I like supporting that when I can. I normally just run a beard trimmer over things to keep a light stubble going and rarely bother with a full shave, but I figured this was a good excuse to go clean shaven for once and actually give it a proper try. The lather builds up thick and creamy, and it doesn’t take much product or water to get there, which surprised me a bit. Gliding the razor through it felt smooth the whole way, no dragging or catching, and my skin didn’t feel raw or irritated afterward the way it sometimes does with cheaper creams. The spearmint scent is noticeable but not overpowering, more of a cool, clean smell than anything artificial. My skin felt hydrated rather than tight once I rinsed off, so whatever they’re doing with the coconut oil and aloe seems to work. Even applying it just with my hands instead of a brush worked fine, so you don’t need extra gear to get a decent lather. For someone who goes clean shaven infrequently, this made the whole process pretty pleasant, and the tin looks like it’ll last a good while before I need more.

Good shaving cream, although the spearmint scent isn’t my favourite
I’ve purchased the Barbershop scented shaving cream from Rocky Mountain Barber Company before, so I was willing to give the Spearmint a try.The shaving cream itself works well and gives me a nice, creamy lather and a comfortable shave. One thing I’ve noticed with all of the Rocky Mountain Barber Company shaving creams I’ve tried is that I seem to need to use a little more product to get the lather I want compared with some other brands I’ve used. I don’t have an exact amount of “shaves per tin” to compare, but it is something I’ve noticed. I will need to keep a closer record of the number of shaves per tin.As for the Spearmint scent, it definitely delivers on that however, Spearmint isn’t my personal favourite. I prefer some of the other more traditional scents I’ve tried from the company.Overall, I like the shaving cream and it provides a good shave. , however I find their creams tend to require a little more product than some other brands that I have tried.Pros: Good lather, comfortable shave, Canadian-made.Cons: Strong gum-like spearmint scent; seems to require a little more product than some other brands.

a Little messier than what im used to but a nice close shave and refreshing feeling
Overall I am big fan of this shaving cream by Rocky Mountain. So proud to be supporting ga Canadian made product and a quality one at that. I got a nice close shave, with a lovely non-overpwering minty scent that didn’t smell fake or artificial. That said, and perhaps this might have had to do with transport, when i opened my package it was a creamy gooey mess. Wasn’t that warm outside, but im thinking this might have been left in the sun of a driver’s car or something as I left it in the bathroom and came back to it a day later and is solidified back up. This doesn’t like warm temperature as it changes from solid to goo pretty quickly even at temps just slightly above room temp… home was at about 23-24 and this turned soft fast – making for a bit of a messy operation. Even when solidified, the lather while refreshing and smooth didnt lather up as as that compact foam I am used to from a few other brands of shaving soap i have. Great product no doubt, but might need some tinkering in the stability dept.

A refreshing lather that gets the job done
I started using the Rocky Mountain Barber Company Spearmint Shaving Cream recently, and it has become a staple in my morning routine. The first thing I noticed was the scent. It uses real spearmint oil and menthol, which provides a crisp, cooling sensation that feels great on my skin without smelling like an artificial chemical spray. The consistency is impressive too, as it whips up into a thick, protective cushion that helps my safety razor glide smoothly without any tugging or irritation. I appreciate that the formula includes ingredients like aloe leaf juice and coconut oil, as my face feels hydrated rather than tight after I finish shaving. It also rinses off the blade cleanly, so I don’t have to worry about buildup clogging things up during the process. One thing that could be better is the packaging. While the 5 oz tin is a generous size and holds a lot of product, the screw top lid can be a little tricky to manage with wet hands. Despite that minor inconvenience, it works perfectly with my different razor types and offers a high quality shave. This is a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable, refreshing cream that stays gentle on the skin.

Very nice
I had tried the sandalwood aroma years back and although the performance was bang on, I found the scent so faint it was bordering on unscented. A certain orange faced guy south of the 49th caused me to buy Canadian, even if I didn’t need something and I’m glad I did. The spearmint kick is on target and lets you know it’s there. I have more shave soaps and creams than any man should, so I speak with confidence when I say that the quality of this particular Rocky Mountain shave cream is at the top end. I’d easily put it head to head with British brands; Taylor of Old Bond Street or Geo F Trumper, creams (no pun).

Cool Mint Precision: Rocky Mountain Spearmint Shaving Cream Delivers Rich Lather & Smooth Glide
I acquired the Rocky Mountain Barber Company Spearmint Shaving Cream for Men to establish a rich, protective, and refreshing grooming foundation for my morning shaving sessions. Finding a high-performance shave cream that successfully balances ultra-thick lathering capability, natural skin cushioning, and an invigorating botanical scent can often prove surprisingly tricky. Generic foam cans frequently discharge thin, airy lathers that dry out skin rapidly, leading to razor burn, irritation, and uncomfortable nicks along the jawline. I was searching for a 5-ounce tub of concentrated shaving cream formulated with natural ingredients, offering a cool spearmint aroma, exceptional blade lubrication, and versatile application options whether using hands or a traditional shaving brush. I use this not for my electric razor but for my Gillette Labs razor and I am satisfied with this product, as it delivers a magnificent combination of cushiony glide, crisp aromatic freshness, and soothing post-shave skin comfort.Let’s talk about the incredible performance of the extra-thick lather density and slick barrier protection, which serves as the primary functional engine of this shaving cream. Thin shaving gels often dissolve quickly upon contact with water, leaving skin exposed to harsh blade friction. Rocky Mountain Barber Company has engineered a concentrated formula that whips up into a dense, creamy cushion with minimal effort. Paired with my Gillette Labs razor, the lather creates a rich lubrication barrier that allows multi-blade cartridges to glide effortlessly across skin contours without dragging or pulling at coarse facial hair.Turning our gaze toward the crisp, invigorating spearmint scent profile and cooling skin sensation, morning grooming receives an immediate sensory lift. Artificial fragrance blends can often smell overwhelmingly chemical or leave behind an unpleasantly heavy perfume. The natural spearmint aroma opens up with a clean, crisp sweetness that instantly awakens the senses without overpowering the room. As the cream rests on the face, a subtle, cooling tingle calms the skin, reducing heat build-up and leaving the face feeling energized long after rinsing.Regarding the versatile application options whether spreading by hand or lathering with a shaving brush, preparing for a shave fits seamlessly into any timeframe. Busy mornings require fast application, while weekend routines afford time for traditional wet-shaving rituals. Scoop a small pea-sized amount directly into wet palms to work up a thick protective layer across the cheeks and neck in seconds. Alternatively, swirling a damp badger or synthetic brush in the tub builds a dense, warm lather that lifts facial hair straight off the skin for an extraordinarily close cut.Shifting our focus to the soothing skin hydration, natural ingredient blend, and anti-irritation performance, post-shave comfort reaches impressive new heights. Alcohol-heavy shaving foams tend to leave skin feeling tight, dry, and prone to redness. This rich cream incorporates hydrating botanical oils that nourish skin while shaving, preventing razor burn and razor bumps. After rinsing off with cold water, my face feels soft, moisturized, and smooth without needing heavy post-shave balms to fix dry patches.Directing our attention to the generous 5-ounce tub packaging, long-lasting product value, and low-mess storage, incorporating this cream into daily counter organization proves completely effortless. Aerosol cans can leave messy rust rings on wet bathroom shelves and run out surprisingly fast. The sturdy screw-top jar keeps the cream fresh, sealed, and protected against shower spray. Because a tiny dime-sized amount generates enough lather for a complete multi-pass shave, a single 5-ounce container lasts for months of daily use, offering fantastic cost-efficiency.Bringing this comprehensive evaluation to a fitting conclusion, this specialized Rocky Mountain Barber Company spearmint shaving cream represents a top-tier acquisition for any gentleman, wet-shaver, or grooming enthusiast seeking supreme blade cushion, refreshing mint aroma, and skin-soothing protection. My genuine satisfaction after pairing this cream with my Gillette Labs razor confirms that selecting masterfully formulated grooming products brings real physical comfort and precision to daily shaving. The extra-thick lather provides outstanding razor glide, the spearmint scent delivers crisp morning wakefulness shave after shave, and the overall quality is exceptional. If you want to move away from harsh aerosol foams and welcome a far slicker, more refreshing, and skin-friendly habit to your bathroom counter, this spearmint shaving cream is a stellar choice that will surely deliver lasting grooming pleasure and smooth results with every single pass of the blade.

Not easy to lather up and foam.
The shaving cream is supposed to lather up for application. In order to lather, I need the shaving brush and some water to essentially whisk it into a creamier texture, but it never did foam. Direct application without doing, even with water, is more like a thick lotion rather than shaving soap. It also takes a lot of water to rinse the shaver in between strokes. After completing the shave job, there is a lot of cream left on my face, which takes a lot of rinsing to remove. On the plus side, the scent is nice, and after all is said and done, my face feels very smooth.

Love the brand and smells great
I like this brand they make some other good stuff and it smells great. This is quite thick compared to Sasquatch shaving cream which i prefer. It spreads well and fits with the rest of the brands.

Very Effective
I’ve been using the Rocky Mountain Barber Company Spearmint Shaving Cream, and overall I’m very happy with it. The first thing that stood out to me is the spearmint scent. It has a clean, refreshing smell that feels especially nice during a morning shave without being overly strong or lingering for too long. It gives the whole shaving routine a more enjoyable, fresh feeling. The lather is probably my favorite feature. It is noticeably thick and creamy, which is exactly what I want from a shaving cream. It provides a nice cushion between the razor and skin and helps the razor glide comfortably. I also like that it works well with different shaving methods. Whether I am using a traditional razor, straight razor, or regular cartridge razor, the cream performs well and gives me the coverage I am looking for.Another thing I appreciate is the consistency. A little goes a reasonable distance, especially when worked into a good lather. I like shaving products that feel substantial rather than watery or overly thin, and this one definitely has that richer texture. The 5 oz size is also convenient enough to keep in my bathroom without taking up much space. The main downside for me is that the thicker consistency can require a little more effort to work into the right lather compared with some of the lighter shaving creams. It is not really a major issue, but if you prefer something that comes out ready to apply with almost no preparation, this may take a little getting used to. I also think the spearmint scent is a matter of personal preference. I enjoy it, but someone who prefers an unscented or more traditional shaving cream may feel differently.Overall, I really like this shaving cream and would gladly use it again. The thick lather, refreshing spearmint scent, and good razor glide make it a solid choice for a comfortable shave. I especially appreciate that it works with both traditional and modern razors, so I do not feel limited in how I can use it. For anyone who enjoys a classic shaving routine and wants a rich, refreshing cream with plenty of lather, I think this is a very good option.

Nice thick shaving cream
This is a really nice shaving cream from Rocky Mountain Barber Company. It has a rich thick consistency and creamy texture that spreads onto the face well and works into a good lather for a clean shave and less irritation. I have just recently started shaving with a razor again, so I’ve been trying out a variety of creams and gels, and this is the best one I have used so farWhat struck me right away was the refreshing minty fragrance. It is pleasant without being overpowering, and it leaves my skin smelling great and feeling refreshed. It is strong enough to be noticeable, but not so strong that it is distracting. It’s just a nice clean smellIt has a smooth thick texture, but it doesn’t take a lot to get a good lather. I usually use a brush that works it into a rich lather, but it works fine without using a brush. It covers the skin well and does a good job creating a barrier to protect the skin while still allowing a close shaveIt rinses off well, and I’ve noticed I have less irritation compared to other common store brand shaving creams and gels. I have sensitive skin that can get red and bumpy after a shave, and this does a good job reducing that and leaving my skin feeling smoother and hydratedThe price seems fair for the 5 ounce tin which doesn’t seem like a lot, but a little goes a long way, so it will last me a good while. I will certainly be back to pick up more of this when I run out

Great Shaving cream with excellent performance
The product arrived in this condition. The product must have melted and leached out of the lid and was all over the seal and outer packing material. This could have been caused by the Arizona heat. Even with all the product that leeched out from the lid, the tin was completely full. The product has a thick texture and smells like Wrigley’s Gum. I used the product with a shaving brush and it developed a great lather. I did a slight load on the brush and it produced a pillowy yogurt cream in the shaving bowl. The small dap was enough for a three pass shave with plenty left inside the bowl. The razor glided easily over the face and did not have any friction or irritation on the face. The post shave felt cool from the minty cream. I give it 5 stars for its lather, shave performance and quality of ingredients. It has a strong spearmint scent so that is a preference that some may like or hate. It is great for the warmer months as it has a cooling effect. This shave cream is a great for those who prefer the classic shave with a brush.-

I really like this shaving cream, minty fresh!
Firstly, this is sold by an American company and made in North America (Canada — their side of Niagara Falls, I believe), which is not indicated except on the back label but should not be hidden, this is a very nice premium shaving cream. The smell is minty fresh, it has a bit of menthol which I was concerned might overpower the cream or leave a minty burn but that is not the case, this is spearmint forward, not other scents like musk or flowery essence to interfere with the mintyness.A little goes a long, long way while face lathering with a boars brush — my first shave was using only half the residue stuck to the lid. It is slick, leaves a pleasant mint aftermath (even after showering), and just great to shave with.I will definitely be back to this company to try their other scents, price is competitive or slightly below that of other premium shaving creams. I had been using artisanal soaps but this lathers much better and is slicker, and ingredients are face friendly.

Another Canadian Win From Rocky Mountain Barber Company
I really like Rocky Mountain Barber Company products, and this is no exception. Supporting a Canadian company genuinely matters to me, and it makes me appreciate the products even more when the quality lives up to the ethical shopping choice. But more than the Canadian-made aspect, I really love quality products that do not irritate my skin. Rocky Mountain has consistently delivered on that front, and this shaving cream is another example of a formulation that just works without triggering any sensitivity. The scent is so nice. Spearmint that is fresh and clean without being aggressive, and the fragrance dissipates once the cream is rinsed off rather than lingering all day.The extra thick lather is exactly what you want from a proper shaving cream. It builds up beautifully whether you apply with your hands or use a brush, giving you enough coverage and glide to actually get a smooth shave rather than a scratchy one.The versatility for traditional razor, straight razor, or cartridge shaving means this works for whatever setup you have without needing multiple different products. It ticks the boxes I care about most: a proper shave, supporting Canadian, and knowing my sensitive skin will not react.
