Ok, so in my mid 30’s and working in an office, I decided I was going to make my first real attempt at growing a beard. Not looking like grizzly Adams while there was paramount, and moisturizing underneath became a requirement. Like many men out there I’m sure, I first started with things around my house. Castor oil was good, but smelled funny and was more slimy than soft after a while. Coconut oil was great, but greasy. So, being a Canadian with a weak spot for any product dressed in red plaid, I took a shot with this stuff. MAN what a difference. It’s solid, then melts in your hands and when you rub in lt into your beard it practically dissapears. Instantly your beard is dramatically more soft and tame. Another added bonus is it seems to thicken your beard hair so the few patchy spots I have are much less noticible. I am extremely satisfied with this balm, and will definitely be looking to see what else I can get from these guys.Oh, and it is “unscented” but in reality it has a subtle natural honey smell. The best way to describe it would be that it it you are wearing it alone, your beard smells fresh, but the moment you wear a cologne or any other scent, the smell dissapears.

Unscented does not mean no odor. You smell the ingredients in the balm, which with this one smells to me a little like walnut. But the smell is gone within ten minutes. I’ve used other unscented balm that had a very strong wax smell whose odor went away in about the same amount of time.This balm has only mild shaping strength, but it doesn’t leave beard hair stiff or crunchy, or glossy and waxed. I feel like it softens the beard while offering just a little bit of shape (especially for frizz). It’s my favorite so far.

Great quality, tames my beard and eases itching
This is a great product, it lays my beard down a bit more than usual (it is slightly curly/wavy) and my beard is pretty short. The hairs are pretty thin however and this does not have a strong hold so keep that in mind. When I grow my beard a bit longer than the usual it can get a bit itchy and this definitely soothes that for me. It gives it a bit of a shine and definitely make my beard softer to the touch. However up to maybe 2 hours it will get my hands a bit greasy if I stroke my beard but after a couple hours its fine.

Combine scented and unscented.
The sandalwood is far too strong on its own. Your coworkers will smell the sandalwood. The unscented is very bland with an odd wax sort of scent.If you can find a larger tin or reuse your tins. Slowly double boil a scented and the u scented balms in to one. (Yes you have to buy one of each)The combination of scented and unscented is perfect. Not too strong but still pleasant.The balm itself spreads through the beard very nicely and keeps shape well. It tames morning beard with no problems. I straighten my beard as well as my mustache with it.Over all the products are great. Especially once you make your own combination of the two.The combined tins usually last me around six months give or take.

Uneven quality
I’ve gotten 3 tins of this now. The first two were more or less UNscented (smelled faintly of beeswax), but the most recent one is VERY smelly. The scent sticks around for several hours. It’s not as powerful as some of the others I’ve tried, but not even close to UNscented and smellier than the previous two UNSCENTED tins I’ve gotten over the last 8 months or so.

Worth a try!
I have been using this product for a few weeks now and this product has definitely made my beard smoother. The unscented version has no added scents but smells of beeswax. Not that that is a bad thing, but I was expecting no scent. I contacted customer service and true to the card they sent with the product they got back to me in under 2 days and resolved my issue. Can’t wish for better customer service. The only thing I am disappointed with is the amount of control it gives you. I know this is not beard wax, but they advertise it as having great control. It did help control my beard but not nearly as much as I thought it would. Overall it is a good Canadian product that is a fair price. If you are looking for a beard balm this is definitely worth a try!

The real deal
Use it everyday, great product. After applying an unscented oil to my skin under the beard. Blow dry up while coming up, the reverse it back down, then style with this. Keep your beard tamed all day looking sharp without the smell of some fake vanilla scent that you have to smell all day lol

I don’t recall saying that this product was greasy. In fact, it works well. In fact, I’ve recently purchased the same product again and use it about two or three times at most a week. I purchased this product after letting my beard grow longer. I wanted to keep it at a specific length in this product along with trimming helps keep everything in place exactly the way I want it.

Great stuff
This stuff is great. Some complain that it is not ‘truly’ unscented, and while they are technically correct, I believe that smell is just beeswax and fades away quickly unlike other beard balms/oils that use fragrance oils.
