Noticeable Results with Consistent Use – Pleasantly Surprised!

I’ve been using The Oily Tonic Rosemary Oil for Hair Growth for about 7 weeks now, applying it 3–4 times a week as part of my evening routine. I was initially skeptical, as I’ve tried various hair oils in the past with little to no visible results, but this one genuinely surprised me.🌿 Texture & ScentThe oil has a light consistency—not too greasy—and absorbs relatively well into the scalp. The scent is herbal and natural, definitely rosemary-forward, but not overpowering. It fades after an hour or so, which I appreciated since I usually leave it on overnight.🧴 ApplicationThe dropper makes it easy to target the roots. I usually apply a few drops directly to different parts of my scalp and gently massage it in. It doesn’t cause any irritation or heaviness, and I haven’t had any residue issues even when I skip washing it out the next morning.📈 ResultsHair fall: Within 2–3 weeks, I noticed a reduction in the amount of hair falling during showers and brushing.Scalp health: My scalp feels healthier, less itchy or dry. I also had some flaking before that’s significantly reduced.Regrowth: After about 6 weeks, I started noticing some baby hairs along my hairline and crown—small, but encouraging! Smells fantastic, but is a diluted oil

I love the fragrance of this product- I am a huge fan of rosemary (the herb, fragrances, natural essential oils, you name it) and the smell of this oil definitely gives off a rosemary scent. The glass bottle it comes with also feels very high quality and the dropper is very convenient to be able to transfer some drops to your scalp. The instructions say it’s essential rosemary oil, which I don’t doubt there IS in the product, but there are also other carrier oils listed so that would dilute it off the get go. Maybe for some who are particularly sensitive to skin irritation from rosemary may need to dilute it further with another carrier oil, but I didn’t find that necessary personally. I find it a bit greasy to sleep with it on overnight so I let it sit a few hours and rinse/wash out before bed. It does help with my scalp issues and psoriasis flakes but it doesn’t cure it, just helps minimize it and hydrates my irritated scalp skin a bit.

Oil is Good; Instructions are Contradictory

This is a hair oil that comes in a glass bottle with an eyedropper top. The oil itself is good, but the labeling on the box is deceptive, and the instructions are contradictory.The bottle says “Rosemary Essential Oil” on its label, inferring that this is, in fact, a bottle of Essential Oil. It is not. It is a mixture of oils that contains some rosemary oil. Then the instructions (on both the product page and the box) say: “Dilute a few drops of rosemary oil with a suitable carrier oil such as jojoba, coconut, or olive oil. Gently massage into the scalp and hair. Leave on for a few hours or overnight, then cleanse with a mild shampoo. If well tolerated and no irritation occurs, rosemary oil may also be applied directly to the scalp in small amounts.” This again implies that this is a bottle of Essential Oil that needs to be diluted with a carrier before being safe to apply. However, if you look at the ingredients, they say: “Rosemary Oil, grape seed oil, sunflower seed oil, sesame seed oil, squlane, vitamin E.” Obviously that means you should not have to dilute this further with coconut or jojoba, as it is already diluted. There are also no allergen warnings on the product page, despite the fact there are two seed oils that should not be used bu folks with allergies to sesame or sunflower seeds. The product page also claims this product is not greasy. It definitely is.But the oil itself is a decent hair oil. It can be used like any other hair oil by applying 3-5 drops to your palms, rubbing them together, and running your hands through your strands, roots to tips. It can also be used as a deep conditioning treatment by applying a dropper full to your roots, letting it sit (or leaving it on while you sleep,) then washing it out. If you apply more than a couple of drops, it will leave your hair greasy, and you will need to wash it out, but it will bring benefits to your scalp and hair. Rosemary essential oil is very powerful and does great things to your hair. Grapeseed oil, however, does not do anything for hair except make it greasy, so I really wish this used coconut or castor oil along with the sesame seed oil, as those oils are both really nourishing to your hair. I also wish this came in an amber glass bottle, rather than a clear one, to improve its shelf life.This bottle was selling for $15 at the time of this review, which I think is a little pricey considering the oils it includes. Grapeseed oil is one of the cheaper oils, and again, a better oil would make this more worth the $15 dollar price tag. And I really think they need to change the label on the front, as calling this Rosemary Essential Oil is deceptive, considering the degree to which this has been diluted. Finally, they need to make up their mind when it comes to their instructions. This has already been so diluted that any further dilution would make the amount of Rosemary Oil in this ineffective. If you do purchase this oil, understand it does not need further dilution, despite the contradictory instructions.
