Round Brush Attachment for Shark FlexStyle Accessories

Maybe for shorter hair?

I have long hair, past my shoulders and I did not find this volumizing brush to be very useful. With my long hair, I had to be careful otherwise my hair would get tangled up in the brush. Because of that, I was not able to use this to volumize my hair.I you have short hair, this brush would likely work quite well. For me, it’s not worth buying.

Needs frequent cleaning

Adding a standard round brush to the drying setup seemed like a logical step for creating volume. The bristles are quite firm, gripping the hair tightly to maintain tension while wrapping sections around the barrel. Getting the knack of twisting the wand while pulling downwards takes practice to avoid creating tangled birds nests. The volume achieved at the roots is noticeable, lifting flat hair effectively during the drying process. The metal barrel retains heat intensely, setting the waves nicely but requiring extreme caution to avoid burning the scalp. One major annoyance is the size of the barrel itself; it feels slightly too wide for styling shorter layers or fringes properly. The bristles also tend to accumulate loose hairs very quickly, necessitating a thorough clean out after every single use. It locks tightly into the base unit without any wobble. It provides decent volume and curl definition for longer styles, but the large diameter and intense heat retention require careful handling.

Game changer for quick volume!

I grabbed this round brush attachment for my Shark flexstyle and it honestly made my morning routine so much better. It slides on perfectly, and the combination of boar + nylon bristles grabs hair nicely without pulling. I have wavy, fine-ish hair and it gives me that bouncy root lift and smooth finish I usually only get with a regular round brush + blow dryer but way faster since it dries as you style. It works great on straight to wavy hair for that polished blowout look, especially on bangs and shorter layers. Not bulky, heats evenly, and delivers good airflow. If you want easy volume without the full salon effort, this is a winner!

I don’t think Shark are worried

I’m really enjoying using my Shark FlexStyle and want to add to the number of attachments I have. My intention was to dry half my hair with the original Shark round brush which came with my styler and the other half with this in order to demonstrate its performance in comparison and to take some photos of the finished ‘product’. Unfortunately, I didn’t get that far as I had to stop using it after just a couple of minutes.My hair is thick, slightly wavy (read: unruly!) and comes to between my jaw and my shoulders. According to the description then, it should have been fine. The main issue was that I couldn’t get this brush to grip my hair at all – it just kept skimming over the surface. Without any grab, of course I couldn’t get my hair dry or styled with it. The other problem is that the air flows through the brush too quickly. This led to it being very difficult to wrap my hair around the barrel because it just blew everywhere. It was a bit like trying to do a traditional blow-dry with a brush randomly attached to a hairdryer! I’m old enough to remember the 00s hot-brushes which did exactly the same and were exactly as disappointing! That’s why I am so amazed and delighted at the results I get from my FlexStyle – it’s just a totally different animal.On the plus side, the quality is perfectly acceptable for an after-market item and it fits perfectly to the body of the FlexStyle with no wobble or leak. Also, because it’s made of thinner plastic and metal and is a good deal smaller then the original attachments, it is a lot lighter. I feel like this attachment might work if you had very fine, straight hair but not for me certainly.

Great frizz control

These bristles are tough in a good way. Bristle brushes like this usually get bent out of shape after regular heated use, but these are holding up really well. They are definitely sturdier than other bristle brushes I have used in the past. It also helps reduce frizz, which my hair is prone to, and it creates reasonable volume. I especially like using it for root lifts.I have hair past my shoulders, so I do have to be careful not to get my hair tangled in the brush. The tangling is my only real issue. I think this attachment might be better suited for users with thinner or shorter hair, but it is workable with long, thick hair as long as you take your time.I have had no problems with the brush staying securely attached to the Shark FlexStyle, and overall it performs well. It just requires a little extra caution if you have longer hair.

It works great

This AFDD round hair attachment worked great on my hair and did better than I expected. I have naturally curly hair, but when I straighten it, my hair usually does not want to hold a curl, so I was not expecting a whole lot from this. Still, I am always willing to try new hair tools, and this one ended up being a hit.I washed and conditioned my hair, used my heat protectant, brushed it out, and then put it into two braids to let it dry most of the way so I do not have to fight with my curls as much. The attachment clicked right onto my Shark with no issues. Once my hair was sectioned, I lightly spritzed each piece and started using it.I was super excited because it actually gave my hair body, bumps, and soft waves. I even have other hot brushes similar to this that have done almost nothing to my hair. I have wrapped my hair around those heated brushes only for my hair to stay straight, so for this to actually give me a little movement made me very happy.This will definitely be getting used regularly. I switch up how I wear my hair each week. I usually wash weekly, or at least try to, and one week I wear it straight while the next week I wear it naturally curly. Having something that helps me dry, blow out, and add a little curl at the same time saves me so much time compared to blow drying my hair soaking wet and then trying to get my super tight curls straight. This is a really good product, and I am very happy with how well it worked for me.Edit:I meant to take pictures right after I finished but was rushing so these pictures are at the end of the night. There was high humidity so the waves I had got even curlier.
