I love trying new hair products, especially those aimed at improving the appearance and health of thinning hair. I went into this with realistic expectations and I didn’t expect it to magically grow new hair overnight. What interested me were the ingredients. Ginseng has long been used in scalp-care products because it’s thought to help support a healthy scalp environment, while the lightweight formula is designed to make hair look fuller and healthier without weighing it down.For reference, I’m in my 60s with some mild age-related thinning. My hair is naturally dark blonde, fine in texture, and I’ve been coloring it for years to cover gray. One of the biggest surprises when I briefly grew out my gray hair was how difficult it became to get any volume at all. Even after returning to coloring, I’ve continued to struggle with flat roots and hair that never seem as full as I’d like.After showering, I applied this serum mainly around my roots and the areas where I wanted more lift and volume. Honestly, I didn’t expect to see much difference, so I was pleasantly surprised when my hair actually looked a bit thicker and fuller at the roots after styling. It wasn’t dramatic or over-the-top, just a noticeable improvement that made my hair look healthier and gave it more body.Another big plus for me is that it doesn’t leave my hair sticky, greasy, stiff, or weighed down. It has a very mild herbal scent during application, but it disappeared quickly. Since I’m extremely sensitive to fragrances, that was important to me. best of the K-beauty scalp serums by a mile in terms of price-to-quality ratio
I am obsessed with K-beauty and have been using it for over a decade. I have tried a ton of the popular scalp products and in terms of quality-to-price ratio, this blows them all out of the water.My previous favorites are the Purcell spray (which is a totally different type of product since it’s probiotic-based) and the Tosowoong ampoule, which is an excellent product but very pricy per ounce as it’s a mere 20ml. Here you get 80ml (4x the amount!) for just a few dollars more. Not even a competition!The one thing that I don’t love as much about this is the added fragrance. However, it’s not super strong or unpleasant, and most importantly, it doesn’t linger. If you are looking for a hair perfume-type product, this isn’t it. If you are looking for a ton of great plant extracts and nourishment for your scalp, it’s one of the best on the market.It’s very lightweight with no greasy or oily after-feel. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t coat your hair or scalp. It’s super easy to use and apply, whether to targeted areas or your overall scalp. And, most importantly, it makes a difference in how my hair looks and feels, as well as the overall health of my scalp.I was also able to try the conditioner in this line (but not the shampoo), and I find the combination leaves my hair silky and not weighed down. It also adds a bit of volume at the roots and just gives my hair a general “lift” in the way a sea salt spray might. It’s an excellent product.As I said in my review of the conditioner, I had no idea AmorePacific had a haircare line until this and the serum popped up on my Vine Feed. I use a tons of products from their various brands and they have a longstanding reputation as the best-of-the-best of K-beauty. They offer products at all pricepoints, and if you like the nature/plant-vibe of this hair line, their Mamonde brand is now available online and it focuses on flower extracts for targeted skincare. I’ve used both the original formulas and the new reformulations of many products in this line and I love them for their plant-based skin support.Hope that helps!

Feels nice to use on my scalp!
I ordered this because I’ve always had fine hair- I have a decent amount of it, but because it’s fine, it always seems to lay flat and doesn’t really build up a lot of volume. I already use Kbeauty shampoos and vinegar rinses, so I do know a bit about Korean hair treatments. As for this serum- I really like this serum a lot. The applicator is unique and makes it really easy to put the serum exactly where you need it. I applied it to my roots when I got out of the shower and then I applied my leave in conditioner to my roots. I dried my hair like usual and I DID notice a bit more ‘oomph’ to my hair. I didn’t really expect immediate results, so I thought maybe it was from my conditioner or something. The next timed I washed my hair, I used this serum again afterwards and AGAIN there was a bit more ‘oomph’ to my hair, so after two times I knew it had to be this serum! I was surprised to see results so quickly, but something in this serum must lift the root or something because it works almost immediately! It also feels SO nice on my scalp! I tend to take warmer showers (not hot but definitely warmer) and the cooling effect of this on my scalp after getting out of the shower kind of radiated through my whole body and felt really nice. I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for more volume for your hair. Not only does it feel awesome to use, you should see results pretty quickly as well!

Pleasant Scalp Treatment, but I Did Not Notice Hair Changes
I am a fan of the Ryo brand and have enjoyed trying their other Korean hair care products, so I was excited to give this scalp serum a try. I used it consistently along with other Ryo products, hoping to see improvements in fullness and overall hair appearance.The serum itself is pleasant to use. It has a really nice herbal scent that reminds me of rosemary and other botanical ingredients. The application feels refreshing on the scalp, and I like that it does not have an overpowering fragrance. The bottle is also easy to use and apply directly where needed.Unfortunately, after using it, I did not notice a significant difference in my hair thickness, volume, or areas of concern. Of course, hair products can affect everyone differently, and someone else may have better results, but I did not personally see enough improvement to justify repurchasing.My biggest hesitation is the price compared to the amount of product you receive. The bottle is fairly small, and for the cost, I would expect more noticeable results before committing to buying it again. I still think Ryo is a great hair care brand with many quality products, but this particular serum was not a standout for me.Overall, I enjoyed the scent and the scalp-care experience, but based on my results, I cannot say this is a product I would purchase again at the current price.

Wonderful applicator!
I have been enjoying this scalp serum. My understanding is that it’s designed to support a healthier scalp, which may help reduce hair loss from breakage. This is an important distinction because it’s not going to magically regrow hair or keep your hair intact if you have hair loss caused by, for example, genetic reasons.I love the applicator because it makes it easy to use the product and actually apply it to the scalp, not all over my hair.The serum has a gel-like consistency that feels lightweight, and has a light pleasant scent. I haven’t used it long enough to comment on major changes in hair loss or thickness, but so far, I really like the ingredients, how it feels, and how easy it is to apply. Finally tried this scalp serum
I only recently started using hair serums and this “RYO ROOT:GEN Scalp Serum” has been a great addition to my routine. I usually apply this after washing my hair and sometimes as part of my nighttime routine. The texture is lightweight almost like water. Not sticky or greasy. It has a refreshing citrus and menthol scent so it refreshes my scalp. I also like the applicator because it is easy to target the areas of my scalp that need extra care. I usually give my scalp a quick massage with a scalp massager after applying this to help it absorb and spread evenly.After using this for about a month together with the shampoo and treatment from the same brand, I’ve noticed that my hair feels healthier and my scalp is much less itchy. I haven’t seen any major hair growth yet but I’m still happy because my scalp feels healthier. Overall, I think this serum is worth the price. It has a nice formula, feels great on the scalp and it delivered improvements. Recommended!

Reputable cult favorite brand for haircare
Ryo is a nice quality and very reputable Asian hair care brand so I was excited to get this. Their shampoo and conditioner are cult favorites and I have the conditioner already so I was excited to add this to the mix.As I’m getting older I notice my hair thinning which makes me a bit self conscious. I don’t want any medicated products so I was excited to try more drugstore and herbal products. I like Asian skincare products because they are well researched and I find the quality of ingredients and herbal lore better than American products at times.I’ve been using the conditioner for months and I feel like it has made my hair stronger. I’ve been using this serum for a few weeks so it’s too short of a timeframe to notice full effects but I also think it’s been helping.
