This Is the Kit If You Love Old-Fashioned Shaving Methods
This is a complete throwback for me. It takes me back to the days when I was younger and I would accompany one of my uncles to the barbershop where he would go for his weekly shave. The smell of the shaving creams, the buzzing of the clippers, the sounds of the straight edge razor against the skin as it’s removing hair and even the clacking sound of dominoes while the older gentlemen talked about the prime of their heyday – this is what this kit reminds me of fondly. It takes me back to watching my uncle sitting in the barber’s chair and going through the process of getting his weekly shave. Something that with this Wet Shaving Kit from SAMEBUTECO, I can mimic myself.This kit has 3 pieces to it: a stainless steel mixing bowl, shaving brush and a stand that holds both the bowl and the brush. The bowl is standard fair, there’s nothing really more to say about it. The stand is also standard fair. The top is designed to hold the brush and could possibly be hung from a rack if there is space in wherever this is being used. Alternatively it can be placed on a flat surface. The design is pretty stable and doesn’t easily tip over with the bowl and brush in place. I wouldn’t classify this as a flimsy design at all as anything with enough force can be tipped over. The brush is clearly the star of this kit. I don’t know if the handle is made from actual bamboo or if the bristles in the brush are made from actual badger hair. What I can say is that as a whole the brush looks and feels authentic. The handle doesn’t feel like cheap wood. The bristles in the brush are ultra soft. To my nose, it kind of has a leather like smell to it. Really reminds me of the smell from one of my old leather trenchcoats.As far as use, the brush does whip up a tremendous foamy lather in the bowl and it spreads thick and evenly on the face. The brush does get in the facets of the facial hair and ensuring all is covered for an excellent wet shave whether you’re using a straight edge razor or a more traditional razor blade. There isn’t much lacking in this kit as far as a wet shaving kit, especially at the price point.Whether it’s for yourself or as a gift for that someone in your life that’s a shaving aficionado, it’s a nice little kit. The only thing I would be concerned about and something I haven’t had a chance to test long term would be the durability and longevity of the brush. From a couple of uses and based on my experience on the surface with using it this seems like it may be a brush that can be used for the long term before needing to be replaced as long as proper maintenance and care is taken. This scores a 4.7 out of 5.0 for a 5 star rating.

Good combination, but a little awkward to get in and out of holder
Works like it’s supposed to, BUT, the brush is about an inch too close to the bowl, making it a little difficult to remove the brush from the wire holder (as well as trying to get the bowl out of the holder if the brush is in the holder too). Takes both hands to remove either from the wire holder. An extra inch of distance between the two would make removing either one a one handed task. It’s not enough of a reason not to buy it though. The brush is good and the stainless steel bowl works well.

Nice shaving brush 3 piece set
This 3 piece shaving bush set is all you need in a shaving brush. The metal stand is sturdy and is capable and strong enough to keep the metal bowl and brush upright and in place.The brush feels like it has a nice wooden handle with a full bushel of bristles. Right out, the brush was shedding a lot of bristles. Im hoping that after a few uses it will not shed as much.The bristles are a good combination of softness yet firm enough to get a good lather.The size and appearance of the set is perfect to have sitting out on your sink without being annoying.If you’re looking for something like this, you just found it!!!

Good brush for the money
New to DE razing and got a synthetic brush and was way too soft. This is decently firm and creates lather very well just remember to properly break it in. Lots of people also complain about animal hair brushes having too much of the “call of the wild” smell, I don’t think it was bad and hardly can smell it after a few lathers. Another thing, it’ll “bloom” after some use it’ll look/work better after breaking it in. Would buy again!

A Nice Little Wet Shaving Set That Performs Well for the Price
As someone who enjoys a traditional wet shave and has owned a few shaving brushes over the years, I think this is a surprisingly nice little set for the money.The overall performance is good. The brush lathers shaving soap or cream well and feels pleasantly firm during use. The bristles are on the stiffer side, which I actually like as they help exfoliate the skin and lift beard hairs for a smoother shave. If you enjoy a brush with a bit more backbone rather than something ultra-soft and floppy, this may suit you well.That said, I do have some reservations about the “real badger hair” claim at this price point. I’ve owned genuine badger brushes in the past, and this one doesn’t seem to retain water quite as well as I would expect. Traditional badger brushes tend to hold a lot of water and create a richer lather with less effort, whereas this feels a little different in use. That doesn’t make it a bad brush by any means just perhaps not quite what long-time wet shavers may expect.The rest of the set is well put together. The stainless steel bowl and stand feel solid, and while it’s too early to comment on long-term durability, the stainless components look and feel good so far. The stand is practical for helping the brush dry properly between uses, and the bowl works nicely for whipping up a decent lather.The bamboo handle is comfortable to hold and gives the set a nice look without feeling cheap. Altogether, it makes for an attractive setup on the bathroom counter.Overall, this is a cute, affordable wet shaving set that performs well and looks the part. Whether for yourself or as a gift for someone getting into traditional shaving, it offers good value for money and delivers a pleasant shaving experience without breaking the bank.
