A natural, effective scalp cleanser that leaves hair incredibly soft
This soapnut powder has a very fine texture and a mild, earthy scent. When mixing it with water, I found that creating a thinner liquid rinse works much better for my hair than making a thick paste. The application process requires a little patience since it takes time to work it thoroughly into the scalp and let it sit. It is a bit messy in the shower, but the routine is definitely worth the extra time.Rinsing it out is straightforward, and the formula does not leave any heavy residue behind. While wet, my hair initially felt a bit coarse, almost as if I had washed it with fine dirt. That texture completely changed once my hair fully dried. It became surprisingly soft, light, and smooth, feeling well-conditioned without being weighed down by artificial ingredients.I also use this powder as a follow-up conditioning treatment after applying henna. Long process, worth the results!
I have fine thin and stringy hair and at my age, I need all the help it can get.If you’re familiar with how to apply henna, you’ll have no problem using this stuff. I use henna and it’s a long process, this is the same concept. Turn into a paste, rub it into your hair, let it sit for a while, rinse off. This stuff smells much nicer than henna, for sure!I love how effective this paste is as making my hair feel very soft. It looks so much healthier and conditioned. I don’t know how often I’ll use it because it does take a lot of time and I’m just not that patient but it’s instantly effective so I might use it for special occasions. I think im going to try incorporating this into my homemade bars of shampoo. Maybe I can get the same results using this in a bar without having to sit with the paste on my hair for hours.Still, an amazing product that I will continue to order as necessary.

This soapnut powder has a slightly sweet smell, a fine texture, and absorbs water to make a paste easily.I usually only use a baking soda and water solution to clean my hair because I haven’t found a shampoo and conditioner that I don’t react to. Baking soda does well to clean my hair but sometimes doesn’t all seem to wash out and it leaves my hair more dry than I would like. I have tried a dilution of raw apple cider vinegar or very fine textured oils to moisturize my hair but their results aren’t consistent and often add too much texture or weight.When I tried to apply a paste with the soapnut powder like the instructions said, it was difficult to work throughout my hair, so I added more water to make it more like a rinse than a paste. It felt like applying dirt to my hair, and the texture of my hair was difficult to work with as it is after rinsing out shampoo or soap, so I didn’t expect it to be moisturizing my hair. I was pleasantly surprised when my hair dried to find that it was lighter, smoother, felt less dry nearly as if I had used my old favorite shampoo and conditioner, but didn’t have any of the reactions that would have come along with it. Additionally, my hair stayed cleaner for longer.Overall, I like the results on my hair far more than with my baking soda routine, but I don’t like the actual practice of using it as much because it’s not as easy, it’s more messy, and especially less pleasant in a bath.
