Another great shea moisture hair masque!!
This is my 2nd purchased hair masque by shea moisture. I have previously reviewed the JBCO leave in, which has been excellent for my 4B BC hairstyle, having used it weekly over the last few months. I have also recommended the JBCO line to my friends and family. I saw this new Manila honey masque in a fitness magazine and ordered it from Amazon after reading some great reviews. First off, this smells amazing!! It is white and thick, which gets distributed well into my 4B hair! I left it on for a few minutes whilst in the shower (to try it first) and when I washed it off my hair really did feel super clean and soft. It smelt really good after and my curls were so defined. I really love how my hair feels even a few days after. I intend to keep this in for longer on my next wash and will give another updated review. This like the other hair masques are really good products to add to your weekly wash regimen. I will certainly be using this along with my favourite mask(JBCO) simultaneously over the next few weeks! It is a great product and I highly recommend the manuku honey masque as well as my other favourite!!

Super thick…not sure if it good for all over treatment on certain hair types
I’m kind of undecided about this product. A little history I’m African American with natural hair that I choose to wear straight. Hey it’s my thing. My hair is mid-back in length. Anyway with all the travelling I was doing the ends of my hair were DRY…like giving me the middle finger DRY. So I was online searching for products that would be great for restoring moisture to my hair. Anyway I purchased this item, leave in conditioner and a cordless heating cap (fyi..skip that product).So this mask is very very thick. I rubbed it in my hands to try and thin it out a bit but it was still pretty thick. I ended up just using this on my ends of my hair and a little bit on my scalp. The scent, to me, was pleasant not over powering just pleasant. But since I have so much hair and barely used any of this product I used my “standard” hair mask along with moisturizing conditioner. I used a heating cap and left it all in my hair for about 30 min. Washed it out applied my new leave-in conditioner and styled as usual.After everything my hair was definitely more moisturized and the ends of my hair were happy again. However, being that I used this product along with another mask and a hydrating conditioner… I can’t say for sure that this product did anything special but I will keep it as an addition to my other hair care products I have in my arsenal. If nothing else I’m happy my ends stopped giving me the middle finger regardless of how it happened.As always I purchase 100% of the products I review with my own hard earned money. I rely heavily on other consumers reviews in making my decisions, therefore, I try to be as honest as possible.

Phenomenal
This is the first Shea Moisture product I have tried. Based on my experience with this product I will definitely be trying other products from this company. I have short hair which was never particularly dry nor damaged. I don’t even blow dry my hair. However, as my hair has become increasingly gray I started to color it. That inevitably led to dryness and damage. I tried a couple of other masks that were considerably more expensive than this and got good reviews, but I wasn’t impressed. Neither of them left my hair feeling truly moisturized and nourished. After doing further research online I decided to give this mask a try. Boy am I glad I did. My hair looks and feels better than it has in a very long time. This truly is an intensive moisturizer as the label states. You don’t need to leave it in for a long time to get results either. The label says 5 minutes. I’d say anywhere from 5-10 minutes should suffice depending on the condition of your hair and how often you use it. I think this mask would be particularly good for dry, course or wavy hair. I don’t know if it would be the right product for someone with very fine, soft hair. It does not leave your hair feeling greasy but it does impart shine and smoothness along with moisture. I also happen to think it smells wonderful. I can’t understand some reviewers who objected to the scent. I guess to each his own. I think this product is a perfect example of a modestly priced, widely available product being equal to or better than many expensive, fancy pants brands.

The best for low porosity 3b hair
I had been struggling to find the best masque for my low porosity hair. I have short hair so when it’s not properly moisturized you can really see it, and there is no ponytail or quick fix to save it. I shampooed my hair, I added the step of putting conditioner to detangle my hair properly before putting on this masque, washed it off, AND THEN I applied the masque, raking it through my hair first with my fingers and then with my tangle teezer brush. Once the product was on, I put on a plastic cap and got under a heated hood for 30 mins. As soon as I started washing this masque off I could feel the HUGE DIFFERENCE. Even wet, my hair felt extremely soft, juicy and moisturized. Since my hair was properly moisturized, my styling was much easier and gave me much better results that before using this product. All these steps were done with warm water. So for anyone with low porosity hair struggling with moisture, maybe giving this product a try could do the trick like it did for me. Hope this helps

De-frizzes and nourishes my color-treated hair
I’ve been purchasing this product for a few years, using it as a replacement for the Garnier Hair Food deep conditioners/masks that have been more difficult for me to find. It has a similar price point as the Garnier, too.I’ve used this hair mask the same way that I used the one from Garnier–for both dying my hair and as a standalone product after a light shampooing. It leaves my hair feeling soft, smooth and nourished without being greasy. I have normal to dry hair that tends to frizz.The mask, which is thick but still easily spreadable, contains a pleasant floral and slightly sweet fragrance that is noticeable immediately after use. It fades after a few hours (that or nose-blindness sets in). A small amount goes a long way, provided that you really make an effort to comb it through your hair.

Great Moisturizing masque to get soft hair + good for budget!!
I am writing this review after using this product for 8 months now. I have naturally wavy hair that is neither soft nor too rough. This is the first time I tried using a hair masque. Also I normally use Tresemme shampoo and conditioner so I was hesitant about shifting to Shea Butter brand. But I must say.. I love this product. I have applied this to the bottom two third portion of my hair once a week or at the very least once every 2 weeks over the past 8 months and I can see visible results. My hair has become quite soft and flowy. I apply this to my damp hair using a wide toothed comb and leave it on for 15 – 20 minutes and wash it off using cold water. This is enough to make my hair soft and smooth. I did notice that my hair gets a little dry and tangled the day after using this but this is just a small price to pay for the greater good. Currently I hardly ever use straightener or hot iron on my hair and have completely embraced my beautiful curls. I feel a lot confident since my curls are completely moisturized and bouncy!! Also this product has a very sweet smell that my spouse loves… The smell lasts for a couple of days after wash and I’ve received a lot of compliments .. so definitely this my hair masque of choice and I’ll keep buying this until they stop manufacturing this product.Note: This is not a leave on product. Wash off thoroughly or else you can see a lot of dryness, tangles and breakage for the next couple of days.

When you think of moisture, you think of this!
Omg! This was magical! I am currently transitioning from relaxed to natural hair this is my second time.I lasted 10 months last time only to give in and re perm my hair. Well this time around after my first born child I wanted to try again. I have been on a hunt for the masque that could give me moisture as my hair is soooo dry, tangled from the demarcation line. I have high porosity thick girls, and boy this gave my hair life! I co washed, then after I immediately applied this on soaking wet hair. Then, I put a bag over my head and sat under my hood dryer for 20 minutes. Omg when I tell you it was so soft and moisturized I can’t make it up!! I thought the high porosity line was for me but nope it was a bust…this is a whole steal!Only problem was this scent caused me to sneeze like crazy, and irritates my senses honestly but it faded over time and other products masked the scent later on anyways . Small prize to pay for a good deep conditioner. Buying the whole line later when I get the funds up, total recommend!
