    Wax pen with toner

    The wax in this pen is white with a thick and sticky consistency and a fruity scent. The end of the pen is twisted to dispense the wax from the applicator, which is a silver metal spatula shaped tip that is the perfect size for spreading wax over small areas of the face. The stickiness of the wax made it difficult for me to precisely apply to the intended areas of skin. The wax removes only about half of the fine hairs over my lip, it may be better suited for those with thicker peach fuzz. The toner is a clear fluid that feels hydrating and soothing, it has a calming effect on the epilated skin. The kit comes with waxing papers that are thick and firm but doesn’t with any oil to remove residual wax.

    Quick and easy touch-ups, but very mid results

    I’ve been using this mostly for quick touch-ups, and it’s pretty easy to use. The pen-style design makes it convenient to apply without making a mess, and it feels gentle on the skin.It works fine for small, light areas, but I wouldn’t say the results are super strong or long-lasting. It feels more like a light maintenance product than something for heavy hair removal.The soothing toner side feels nice after using it. It has a cooling, calming feel on the skin and helps reduce any irritation afterward.It’s simple and convenient, but best for minor touch-ups rather than anything more heavy-duty.

    This did not work for me.

    This did not work for me. I used this to wax the hair on my upper lip. I like the concept. The applicator is metal and cool to touch. I was able to apply enough wax in the direction of hair growth to cover the area, and the application was precise. The strip was easy to apply and I was able to pull in the strip in the opposite direction of hair growth and 5 of 25 strands were removed. I re-read the directions, then reapplied the wax and removed 2 additional strands. I was not satisfied with the outcome. The toner was very soothing afterwards, and decreased any discomfort I had from the process. Everything smelled pleasant and nothing was overly irritating or uncomfortable. This product did not work on my upper lip area.

    Ehhhh

    I definitely have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, the adhesive that you apply to the brow and the strip together will definitely take care of the issue without much pain. And the toner solution that comes with it, will help clean the excessive off and keep it from getting overly irritated.My one problem is that it’s very messy. I know the whole point is for it not to be, but once it comes out of the top, it doesn’t glide across your skin well, so it leaves a lot of excess product on the tip of the applicator, and I’m not sure what to use to clean it off.I love this concept, I think it’s a great idea, but I wish we could make the wax a little smoother. Other than that, it’s a great price, as Sheglam usually is, and I’ll still probably use it.

    Facial waxing kit

    This waxing pen and kit is surprisingly very easy to use and I like that it comes with everything you need — the wax pen, removal strips, and soothing toner. Like with any waxing product, be sure not to go over the same spot too many times and don’t wax when your skin is dry (I didn’t realize that I had a dry patch on one side of my upper lip and when I unknowingly waxed that dry spot, it took off a layer of skin with the hair — ouch! But i don’t hold that against the product, i should’ve checked better to make sure my skin was in good shape. I didn’t have that issue again the second time I used this). It works for upper lip, general facial hair, and eyebrows and the pen tip makes it easy to apply the wax where you need it. It’s VERY sticky wax so I recommend using before showering and cleaning really well with an oil cleanser aftewards to remove the stickiness. It is pretty hard to get all cleaned up after (especially since you need to be very gentle with freshly waxed skin and I definitely didn’t want to rub with isopropyl alcohol wipes to remove the residue from my face, but I did use the wipes to clean up the tip of the pen itself). The difficulty of removal and cleanup is why I removed a star. The waxing strips are soft and sturdy and remove the hair well and the kit comes with a good sized stack of waxing strips. I also appreciate that the kit came with a little bottle of soothing toner to use afterwards on your skin. I think if they ever put out a new version of this product, including some sort of wipes or a tiny bottle of oil cleanser that’s formulated specifically to remove the stickiness without damaging the skin would make this a 5* product for me. It’s also a fantastic value, soooooo much cheaper than going to a salon for waxing and this set has multiple applications too. I recommend this hair removal kit!

    Easy to use wax pen

    This wax hair removal pen is easy to use and convenient for traveling. It includes removing strips and toner. The toner helps to soothe skin and remove sticky residue.The wax pen works like a tube of lipstick, you just keep twisting until the wax comes out. The hair needs to be about as long as the thickness of a nickel and no longer the length of a grain of rice. I have super fine hair, and the wax worked on the longer hair but not the shorter ones, so the hair length matters.Overall, it’s a good wax pen for travel and didn’t cause irritation to my sensitive skin.

    Hair removal pen hit or miss if it works.

    This wax pen works, but it’s not quite strong enough for thicker hair. I followed the directions and it did remove some hairs, but it struggled to grab everything. On one brow I got maybe three hairs out, and it left about eight behind. On the other side, it didn’t pull any. It feels similar to salon style wax, but it never firms up enough on the sheets to get that solid grip you need. I grew up with my mom waxing my brows in her salon, so I know what a good pull should feel like, and this is just a step below that and doesn’t work nearly as well.The good part is that it comes off cleanly with no sticky residue, and it soaks into the wax sheets well. It’s easy to use, but the twist up pen is a little unpredictable. I had to twist a lot more than expected to get it started, and then it suddenly pushed out like there were air pockets inside, so the control isn’t as smooth as it should be.If you have fine or light hair, this might work better for you. With thick roots like mine, it just doesn’t grab enough to make it worth it. It’s close, but that “almost” is the difference between actually removing hair and just tugging at it.

    Works better for fine hair removal!

    The SHEGLAM EZ hair removal pen works for quick and on the go touch ups. It is easy to use with its precision tip so there is not need to make a mess for the hair removal. However, I did find that it doesn’t work as well if you have thicker hair. It’s perfect for fine facial hair but it may take a couple passes to remove thicker hair. The toner works great and prevents any irritation and redness that may result.
