I exclusively use double edged razors to shave my face roughly every two days and was looking for one for travel so that I could leave my grandfather’s razor at home.Having used multiple DE razors I found this razor to have an aggressive cut which for me, means I can only do a single pass or else I’ll have some irritation. That said because it is aggressive it leaves a clean shave that will last 2 days.I like that unlike older models the aluminum head and handle is much lighter than the standards stainless steel. Personally I prefer a lighter head since (like many who move from cartridge razors) we have a tendency to overapply pressure and that reduction in weight compensates for my over application of pressure and mimics a cartridge razor more similarly.It came with simple bag which will be great for travel and a 10 pack of blades. the blades aren’t really the reason you buy the razor but they’re still holding a strong edge after 5 uses on some pretty firm and thick beard hair.For ladies, my wife uses DE razors for her body hair and after using this razor had no issues and enjoyed it like any other razor.As a fellow Winnipeger, I fully support and appreciate that this a Canadian company with the goal of reducing waste.I will happily be a returning customer as the quality is great, the price even better and an outstanding goal.

It was crafted well. However, I do not need to be using single blade razors. I don’t have the patience to learn to use it properly. The first 2 strokes left my skin nice and very smooth. But that 3rd stroke….it was rough! I sliced the hide right off of my shin. Ouch!

A double-edged safety razor in Rose Gold or Onyx colour
Wow, what a blast from the past. I’ve been using an electric shaver for 25 years now. I used a blade razor for 25 years prior to that. I started with a safety razor like this from my dad. Went through a stretch of the twin blade disposables. Briefly tried the triple blade, but was not fond of them. Went back to the safety razor, but had an adjustable one where one can control to a degree the blade angle / aggressiveness. I really liked that one, but eventually got tired of the whole “wet your face with hot water, smear on shaving cream, shave, wipe down” etc. routine. Switched to an electric razor around 40 yo and have been using one ever since.Personally, I never felt that a blade razor shaves closer than a good electric shaver. Ok, perhaps a bit, but not enough to really matter (at least to me). This Zero Waste MVMT razor is about as basic as they get. You get a knurled handle, a base plate and a top plate that sandwich the razor blade. The handle screws onto the threaded stud on the underside of the top plate, holding everything together. The bottom plate is contoured to protect the corner at the end of the blade. This is NOT of the design where one twists the bottom of the handle to flip up 2 hinged top plates to access the blade. (This is what my last safety razor was.)So how does it shave? Seems ok, but as I mentioned, this is the first time in 25 years I’ve used a safety razor. I don’t know where my old one is right now (recently moved), so I was not able to compare it to anything but a dim memory. And I’m sure I’m out of practice as well. I did manage to not nick myself! Also, one’s beard does grow differently depending on whether you shave with a blade or an electric shaver. I’m sure the tugging I experienced would reduce over a few weeks time of adjustment. I mostly got this for my partner who tends to nick herself with the multi-blade disposables. Fingers crossed.I do applaud the intent of providing a sustainable product (no plastic waste) that is actually less expensive to use in the long run. This is a small business from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, run by a couple. The razor itself says “Responsibly made in China”. For those interested, I will note that there is an Ontario precision manufacturing company that sells a Made in Canada razor, but it is approx. 2.5x the price of this one. Machining tolerances are much tighter though.

Smooth Shave and No Irritation
This was my first time using a single blade razor, and I wanted to give it a try to upgrade from my last razor. For the couple of weeks that I’ve used it, I am pleased with how smooth the shave is, and there’s been no irritation on my skin. It took a bit of adjusting to the slimmer handle but it did not take me long. I’ve tested out changing the razor and it was fairly easy. I’m most impressed with the value of this product, as it offers an additional 10 single blade razers and a pouch for storage. Overall, it’s a reliable razor that offers great value for the price.
