This razor was definitely different, it felt awkward at first but once I figured out how to adjust it to my hand, it was a game changer. I am more deliberate when using this razor and get a cleaner cut than with my usual one.Also, the razor feels very high quality, it’s nice having a metal razor as opposed to a plastic one. It’s very sharp, I got a lot of use out of one cartridge.It’s really nice having a case since I travel from time to time for work, I can throw it into my luggage and not worry about accidentally touching the razor head.It definitely elevated my mornings.

I just used the SKAURA ONE shaver for the first time today, and I’m honestly impressed. Right out of the box, it feels really well-made and easy to handle. The shave was super smooth and gentle on my skin no irritation at all.It’s also really straightforward to use, which I liked since I didn’t have to figure much out. If this is how it performs on the first use, I’m definitely looking forward to using it more.Great first impression overall definitely recommend!

Right tool for the job!
Let me just start with the statement that there is a tool for every job. This is a well-made and clever take on the traditional razor. The question of is it a better razor, or the best, really depends on the job you want to do. I am not trying to be funny or smart. I found the razor blades delivered a close shave and gave me no complaints. The real difference is the hand position. You can watch the sales materials from the manufacturer for the full story but I will cut to the chase, it offers more effective control. If your a cyclist, swimmer, bodybuilder, etc and shave more than just your face, you will appreciate how much better and faster the shave experience will be with the way you get to hold the razor and do the job. Once you hold the tool in your hand, the setup is obvious and it is one of those moments that makes you say why have we not had this up until now.

Innovative design, but needs more thought, possibly a unique gift
I have a beard, but need to shave my neck and under the chin. I was intrigued to try an innovative face shaver.First, it takes a little time to get the feel of this. I can pull it side to side for most of the under chin. However, it doesn’t work to pull to the edge of the beard. I’ve held it in a normal grip and played with it to try holding backwards to pull against the grain to the bottom of beard and it kind of works but is not designed for that. So, I don’t feel this innovation is really great for face shaving. It’s possible I’m just too used to traditional razors. It is a high quality build and material.I left my wife try it for her body shaving, legs and elsewhere. Likewise she was a bit like warm on it. The blades are good and make a close shave, but takes time to get used to using. She found something that is our main reason to hold back a star. The blades are not easy to clean. Longer hairs get stuck between the blades and don’t shake out easily. After she pointed that out, I noticed it too.Overall we like it, but don’t love it, especially at the base cost. The replacement blades seem reasonable cost. It would make a nice gift for someone who like novelty things.

Good idea, but only for one side
The design of the handle is super comfortable, but only when shaving the same side of your face as the hand you have the razor in. You have to switch hands or shave against the grain to get a good angle when shaving the opposite side of your face from your hand. The razor head locking mechanism is by far better than the standard disposable head razors however this design locks you in with only using Skaura razors. Finally, the metal frame while extremely durable makes tapping it against the sink edge to clean out the blades very harsh.I’d rate it 3 of 5 as it gets the job done but isnt any better than a regular disposable head razor.

The best shave I’ve ever had. The blades are high quality and can tell it will last a while. Having a beard it’s hard to line it up but not with this razor. The handle makes it so easy to maneuver. Comes with a nice travel kit and 3 extra blades. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Innovative concept undermined by fundamental design flaws
I’m a long-time wet shaver with 20+ years experience using both safety razors (Merkur 37C) and cartridge systems. I was excited to test the SKAURA ONE’s finger-slot grip design, which promises enhanced control through “proprioception” – the idea being that dragging your fingertips gives you better spatial awareness than holding a traditional handle.What works:Build quality is solid (mostly metal construction, weighted nicely at 84.4g)The blade cartridge itself performs fine – sharp, smooth, comparable to any quality 5-blade razorThe adjustment mechanism for handle length and finger grip width is well-engineeredThe concept is genuinely novel.Oh, and it looks like a cool airplane!Fatal design flaws:1. Sizing limitations: I wear medium gloves and needed the adjustments nearly at their minimum settings (within 3-4mm). Anyone with smaller hands simply cannot use this razor as intended.2. Directional limitation: This is the dealbreaker. The finger-slot system only allows you to shave in one direction. There’s no way to go against the grain or adjust for facial hair that grows in different directions without contorting your arm around your head. For a smooth shave, you need directional flexibility – this design makes it impossible.3. Grip stability vs. release: The finger holder must be tight enough to prevent wiggling during use, but then requires two hands to remove. Loosening it for easier release makes it unstable. There’s no sweet spot.4. Durability concern: While most of the handle is metal, the top finger slider is plastic. It feels fragile and if it breaks, the entire grip system becomes unusable.5. Bulky when not using the grip: I attempted to use it like a normal razor (ignoring the finger slots), but the grip assembly makes the handle too bulky for proper pencil-grip control.Blade economics:Replacement blades are $15 for a 3-pack ($5/blade), only available from SKAURA’s website. Comparable Mach 5 blades run $3-4 each with better lubrication strips and are available everywhere.Bottom line:I appreciate that SKAURA tried to innovate rather than just slapping premium materials on a standard design. The finger-drag concept could work in theory, but the execution creates more problems than it solves. The directional limitation alone makes it impossible to get a truly smooth shave using the system as designed. At $150, you’re paying a massive premium for a grip system that actively impedes the shaving process.If you want precision control, a quality safety razor ($30-50) will give you better results. If you want convenience, a standard cartridge razor ($20-30) works better without the ergonomic compromises. This falls into an awkward middle ground – innovative but impractical.
