great ingredients and much larger than competing serums and ampoules; great value!
I try a lot of scalp serums and the majority of them have a lot of things in common: they tend to use a combination of denatured alcohol and menthol to create a temporary cooling sensation, they often rely on a combination of biotin and caffeine, and they sometimes also use chemical exfoliants. All of the above are true for this serum, but what interested me about this is the combination of CICA and peptides, both of which have given me excellent results in other products.This has a minty menthol smell that dissipates after about 15 minutes, so keep that in mind if you are strictly fragrance-free (I don’t think I’ve seen a fragrance-free scalp ampoule or serum though so I think you might be out of luck there).It is very light and not greasy and applies with a watery texture after the alcohol evaporates. I applied it to my crown and scalp areas only and massaged it in as directed.For this type of serum, you need to use them consistently for results, but I will say that I have noticed differences with other ampoules and serums in the past, particularly the Tosowoong one which is probably my reigning favorite. I am a lover of hippie shampoos and conditioners since my teen years, have never used silicone-based products, and let my hair dry naturally without blow drying. Many of my favorite shampoos and conditioners already contain several of these ingredients and they have worked for me very well over the years as I get a lot of compliments about my hair and it is very silky.Since peri/menopause, I’ve had more issues with hair fall and I have found these serums and ampoules to be helpful but also cost prohibitive since they tend to be so small. This one is great in that it’s much larger than the norm; in fact, the only other one I have that is close to this size is the Purcell spray and that is more of a microbiome thing than a true scalp ampoule or serum. So in terms of value, this one can’t be beat since almost all the others come in 20g packaging but have a similar pricepoint to this one.The only reason I deducted a star is because the tiny yellow font on the green packaging made it nearly impossible to read the full ingredient list and the directions. I already looked them up before selecting this but if you aren’t familiar with how to use this product or what it is in it you should be able to easily find out by looking at the box without needing a microscope, lol.SomebyMi is a reliable brand that has been around forever and they have ensh*ttified to a lesser degree than many of the other main K-beauty brands. This product still has great ingredients, and if the smell and alcohol don’t bother you, I think you’ll like this product. Just be careful in terms of patch testing and starting slow, just in case your skin doesn’t like the exfoliants or plant extracts, which are in smaller doses here and are less likely to bother all but the most sensitive skin.Hope that helps!

Gentle Scalp Serum That’s Already Showing Some Promising Signs
I’ve been trying to be a little more intentional about caring for my scalp and thinning hair, but I’m also very skeptical of anything that promises to transform your hair overnight. If my hair could magically grow back in two weeks, I’d probably be suspicious of it anyway. So when I started using the SOME BY MI Cica Peptide Scalp Serum, I was looking at it more as a long-term addition to my routine than a quick fix.I’ve only been using it for just shy of two weeks, so I definitely don’t want to claim that it has magically fixed my thinning hair in that amount of time. Hair growth takes time, and I think it’s important to be realistic about that. What I can say is that I’ve already noticed a little more volume and less breakage, which makes me optimistic about what continued use might bring.The serum itself is really easy to incorporate into my routine. It’s lightweight, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave my scalp feeling greasy or coated. I also appreciate that it’s a leave-in treatment, so I don’t have to add another step where I’m applying something, waiting around, and then washing my hair again.My scalp has also been comfortable with it. The Cica and peptide formula feels gentle rather than harsh, and I haven’t experienced that dried-out or irritated feeling I’ve gotten from some scalp treatments. For something I’m planning to use consistently, that’s a big deal.One thing I was particularly watching was how it behaved with my color-treated hair. I have both permanent and semi-permanent dye, including a peekaboo color job with black permanent dye and red semi-permanent color. So far, this serum hasn’t caused the black to fade any faster than it normally does, and I haven’t noticed the red bleeding or the different colors running into each other. That’s honestly one of the biggest wins for me because I don’t want a scalp treatment undoing all the work I put into my hair color.The only thing I would caution is that I’m still very early in the process. If you’re buying this specifically for thinning hair, I would go into it expecting consistent use over time rather than immediate dramatic results. The changes I’ve noticed so far are encouraging, but I’m not going to pretend two weeks is enough to know the full story.At around $20, I think it’s an easy product to add to a haircare routine, especially because the formula is lightweight and doesn’t require rinsing. I like that I’m able to use it without sacrificing the color I’ve worked so hard to maintain.Overall, I’m really happy with it so far. My hair seems to have a little more volume, I’m seeing less breakage, and my scalp feels comfortable after using it. It’s much too early for me to make any big claims about hair growth, but the early results are promising enough that I’m definitely going to keep using it and see where it takes me.

Easy to use and gentle ingredients
I am really liking this scalp serum so far. It seems to be a good-quality product! I especially appreciate how easy it is to apply. The bottle and nozzle make it easy to get the product directly onto the scalp without making a mess.I also like that it has a nice-looking pretty bottle that I don’t mind keeping out on the counter, which is helpful for me to do, because it reminds me to use it consistently. I appreciate the gentle ingredients and it does not irritate my scalp at all. I love that it’s a leave-in treatment, so there’s no need to rinse it out afterward! It also doesn’t have any overly strong scent, which I am thankful for since it’s a leave-in product.I’m hopeful about seeing results with continued use, but one thing I already really like is that it doesn’t weigh down my hair or leave my scalp and hair feeling greasy. I got this hair loss treatment because I’ve been dealing with thinning hair and was hoping it would help. So far, I haven’t noticed any improvement. It does give my scalp a cool, refreshing sensation that reminds me of eucalyptus or tea tree, which I actually like, but that’s really the only noticeable effect I’ve experienced.I’ve actually noticed more hair loss since starting it, although I can’t say for certain that the product is causing it. At this point, I just don’t feel like it’s helping. I’m also not sure how long you’re supposed to use it before seeing results, if it works at all. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much luck with it so far.

Okay – umm OMG I LOVE THIS SERUM! Just another stellar and outstanding product in the awesome Some By Mi line.I used it last night for the first time and honestly – my hair has not looked or felt this great in years! Now I know “Rome wasn’t built in a day,” but the immediate effects are brilliant. My hair feels light and voluminous, plus my scalp feels fresh and clean in a way I didn’t even know that it needed or that it could feel this way.The serum itself is super easy to apply and smells delicious. I followed & did as the instructions said, applying it to my hairline after shampooing as well as other “problem” spots throughout my hair. After applying it I gave myself a scalp massage, helping it absorb, then left it in for about 15 minutes before massaging in my conditioner, then rinsing. I let my hair air dry and oiled my tips w/o putting any other products in. Last night it felt amazing and this morning, even after sleeping on it, it looks and FEELS even better.I’m beyond impressed with this serum and I only wish that it came in a larger size for price… That being said, I will be cutting out other products that are no longer needed because of the Cica Peptides affect – so I won’t mind spending the money on this to continue treatment overtime. It’s definitely worth every penny and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND giving it a try for your hair routine too.SOME BY MI has covered daily skincare routine, and now my hair care too. Helped With My Dandruff!
I like the anti hair loss properties of this serum by SOME BY MI. It helped reduce my dandruff noticeably but not completely eliminate it after using it for several weeks. Whenever my scalped flared up, I applied this and it has helped reduce the urge to scratch my scalp with its soothing sensation.
