This brush is awesome

I can’t believe I’m writing a review on a hair brush, but here we are. Long story short, I don’t know how I’ve been without a boar bristle/nylon combo brush like this for so long. I had no idea what I was missing. I was at my hairstylist recently and she used this brush to loosen up my waves after she used the curling iron. I was shook- I always struggle with taking my just-curled hair from springy to more “lived in” and beachy. Yet she runs this brush through my hair a few times and my hair was suddenly loosely wavy and perfect. She also explained that boar bristle brushes are awesome because they do a great job of distributing scalp oil throughout the length of your hair. Who doesn’t want more moisturized hair and a less oily scalp? The brush she used on me was the Mason Pearson one that costs something like $150-$200. I’m sorry, but there is just no way I’d spend that on a brush. She told me to look for a dupe and here we are! Obviously I don’t have both brushes for comparison, but I feel like this one is high-quality and I can personally tell no difference between this and the one she used on me. The effect it has on my hair seems exactly the same. If you want to splurge on the MP, go for it, but I personally don’t see a need when this one is working so wonderfully. Highly recommend this brush!Edit: I’ve now had this brush for almost 4 years! I truly can’t recommend it enough. I’m a 2x/week hair washer, so I rely on this brush every day in between washes to distribute any scalp oil down my lengths and ends and keep tangles at bay. I have fine hair strands but a lot of it, so tangles are a constant issue for me, but this brush is so gentle and yet really gets the job done for me. I feel like this is the only brush I’ve ever used that has truly improved the health and quality of my hair! It really keeps my hair silky and manageable, and I’m convinced it allows me to go a little longer between wash days as well. I’m about to buy a replacement, but honestly my brush still looks great. I just think despite cleaning it regularly hair brushes eventually gets to a point where it’s time to start fresh! I am at a point in my life where I’m willing to splurge on hair products if they are worth it, but I see no reason to upgrade this brush to the more expensive brand’s version! It’s SO good! I hope this review helps if you are on the fence about purchasing it. Highly recommend 🙂

Great for graying dried out hair!

I bought this brush for my mom. She asked for a new brush to help as she allows her hair to be full gray without dying it anymore. Her hair was falling out and breaking and no matter what she did (my mom does not use cheap shampoo or conditioner) she couldn’t get her hair to stop breaking. My mom has arthritis in her hands really bad and needs a bigger handle to hold onto because some of the smaller round handles hurt for her to hold and use.I looked up brushes that help for these issues and had a cosmetologist friend mention that combination soft bristle brushes are really good. I stumbled upon this brush and gave it a shot.My mom says she LOVES her new brush. She loves brushing her hair with is so much she says she brushes her hair 9x a day! She likes how it feels in her hand and her scalp doesn’t itch anymore. She is noticing her hair feel like “real hair” again. It is softer and doesn’t break. She has been singing praises for it!I tried it out and it is quite nice. It reminds me of something from a movie with ladies in the 1800 brushing their hair in front of their vanity. I don’t know why. I think because it makes the hair so instantly soft, shiny and beautiful.It’s weird to be so amazed by a brush. I don’t brush my hair ever because I don’t have tangled hair very often so I don’t ever feel like I need to. But I am getting one because I like that idea of distributing the oils. Plus it feels really nice on my scalp. I do have some build up on my scalp that causes clogged pores sometimes. Maybe this will help that?? I’ll try to remember to update if my occasional “scalp acne” goes away.

Best Hairbrush for Fine Hair

This is the second time I’ve ordered this hair brush. The first time was 2014 and I just ordered a replacement in 2024. The boar bristles gives me shiny and smooth hair while the nylon bristles make brushing my fine long hair easy and smooth. It promotes hair health by evenly distributing oils throughout the hair. If you regularly clean the brush it will last for years. The handle is easy to hold. The brush size is ideal for all hair lengths. I cannot say enough about the quality of this hair brush.

This is the best hairbrush I’ve ever had. This brush is lightweight and thin—not chunky plastic—and fits comfortably in my hand. The bristles are stiff enough to comb through my straight, mid-weight hair yet soft enough to feel really pleasant on my scalp. I usually finger-comb before I brush so I can find and work out any tangles, but sometimes I forget or I’m in a hurry, and the bristles on this are flexible enough that they bend around knots rather than ripping them out. This also does a good job smoothing down frizz, especially compared to hairbrushes with thick, ball-tipped bristles—the kind I grew up with.I bought this brush three years ago, and, after innumerable falls on my tile floor, two dozen confirmed fly kills (hey, you use what’s at hand), and plenty of swats to friends’ derrieres—not to mention brushing my hair every day—it started to crack along the back, so I replaced it. It held up better than I would have expected: the plastic is slightly rubbery, not brittle; instead of being painted, it has a flat, matte surface that doesn’t show wear or scratches; and the cushion and bristles show very little visible wear.I recommend washing the brush a few times a year. I use an old toothbrush and a mild detergent to scrub the bristles and pad, then I rinse the outside, and, because soap leaks through the bristles, I dunk the air hole under the faucet and squeeze pump until it squirts out clear. I squeeze out all the water I can and leave it handle-up so it can drain.UPDATE: Since I liked the full-size brush so well, I decided to buy the miniature one for my purse. The small brush is surprisingly small. It almost looks like a doll’s brush. Brushing my hair out with it this morning took forever, but, otherwise, it worked fine and left my hair smooth, sleek, and tangle-free without ripping any of it out (unlike my last compact hairbrush). For an “in case of hair emergency” brush, its small size is an asset—as long as you’ve got a few minutes to spare.
