I picked up these 6.5-inch BOUFQ stainless steel haircut scissors mainly for quick trims at home and to clean up bangs between salon visits. Pretty Good Bargain Scissors
Stainless Steel Hair Cutting Scissors. Pretty good scissors. Please do not expect top of the line shears, at the time of this review they are priced at 6.99 this is a good value for what I feel is a descent pair of shears. I just trim my bangs. Couldn’t find my other scissor, and didnt want to spend a lot (and then find my others). This works fine and yes I did find my other pair, so now I have a spare.

Not sharp enough to switch from my old scissors
I really wanted these to work because my old scissors are falling apart and I thought this would be a great replacement. But honestly, they just weren’t sharp enough for what I needed.The scissors look really nice and the ergonomic handle is comfortable to hold. The blue stone detail is pretty and makes them feel a little more special than basic drugstore scissors. They came with a little comb too, which was a nice bonus.The problem is when I actually tried to cut hair with them, they didn’t slice through cleanly the way my old pair does. I ended up having to make multiple cuts in the same spot, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid by getting new scissors in the first place.I wanted to love these because they’re affordable and look professional, but I’m just going to stick with my old scissors until I can find something sharper. If you’re looking for precision cuts, you might want to keep shopping.

not very sharp
These were not very sharp. You can see in the blade picture that they were ground a little too much to remove the burr. They tend to jam on hair. I have other scissors that have an adjustment nut and they have a ratchetting desing where they click as they tighten. This does not have that. There appears to be nothing locking the nut at a position and as you use them, the tension changes. I would say they are a cheap set not worth bothering with. There is better quality available at this price point.

Good for DIY Haircuts
I started cutting my own hair during the lockdowns and appreciate having small, sharp scissors that are easy to use and control. I think professional hairdressers and barbers probably spend upwards of $200 or much more for their scissors, and these can’t compete with those. However, these do get the job done at a tiny fraction of the cost. I have long fine hair and have to be careful of the quantity of hair I try to cut with these scissors because too much hair causes you to start sawing and chewing away at the hair. I think these scissors might work a little better for shorter hair. These scissors are fairly comfortable, although I think I would have been happier if the blue plastic lining on one of the finger holes would have been used on both finger holes. The comb is quite cheap and too fine for my hair, so I can’t use them. If you’re trying at-home hair cuts with regular sewing scissors, you should definitely stop it right now and give these a try.
