Immediately upon using it, I realized it lacked sufficient hold. The scent is indistinct, certainly not citrus. Its jet black hue gives my mustache an artificial appearance, which might only be fitting for Halloween.

Obnoxious scent
So my kiddo has taken an interest in trying shaping waxes for his facial hair, and this product is a mixed bag.He HATES the scent, says it is obnoxious and lasts far too long, and unless it’s unscented, it’s a hard pass despite it being epic in every other way.I decided to give it a try for my stubborn brows.Despite it being called “DARK BLACK”, no colour shows up, and I have Black hair. It didn’t show up on kiddos Auburn mustache either. My brows don’t move once I’m done fiddling with them, and for a few hours look almost laminated until running around in the heat softens them, though one quick brush with a spoolie and a bit of shaping, it’s like I just did them, so I’m impressed, as a little goes a long way.That Citrus scent is OBNOXIOUS. It’s up on my eyebrows, yet I could smell it for HOURS.Both of us used spoolies to comb it through, and then shape.Honestly, and I absolutely adore Masculine and Citrus scents, I need this product unscented. I’ll actually use this up, and if they have an unscented version, will get kiddo a huge tin, as well as some for me, as the hold is amazing, and I need to have this always, as it’s perfection for my unruly stubborn brows.I have been given this product and tested it for review. All opinions are mine.

Weak Hold
The Bay Rum medium hold is my favorite mustache wax. It holds fairly well and is much easier to use than hard waxes. The dark version is not nearly as strong, and though the color is much better, it did almost nothing for me.

It holds OK, smells earthy/charcoal-y. Your fingernails will look like you work on cars, so wash up well after. I have a grey mustache and to me, it looks unnaturally dark, but my wife says it looks fine. I think I’ll stay with their Bay Rum scent – wonderful stuff!

Droopy stache in AZ heat.
The Bay Rum scented version is better as this will color your stache black. Which is good if you want to hide the grey but bad if you ever sweat. Also, this doesn’t hold the handlebars well in Arizona’s 110°F (43°C) heat. I guess the wax has a lower melting point than the clay I was using.

Delivers as promised
My first use of mustache wax. I began wearing a ‘horseshoe’ style and my lower ends are white, while the rest is black and white making grey. Although this is common I feel it makes me look even older. This wax has a color in it that blends my white ends easily to match my main ‘stache’. Could not be a better product!

Not just for mustaches, but for beards too.
This is my first wax for facial hair.I don’t have a mustache, but I do have a burly out of control sometimes beard, and I like to keep the stragglers down on occasion.This wax worked out for me and ads a nice thickness to the hairs and keeps it in place. Comes with a guitar pick to scoop out (a little goes a long way) some wax, warm it up in the palm of my hand and applied to the outer layer and being a beard I did this twice. Perfect for the Santa’s in all of us, or if you like to twirl your mustache it will keep for a long time.I am looking forward to using this every other day, or just on the weekends.Great for getting a slept on look back to church mode or date night in a quickness.All is well with this one, twist on cap to keep in the pocket, good color black charcoal so you can see where it is and even having an all grey beard/goatee it doesn’t show the color at all when worn.Good smell, every once in a while I get a waft of it but not overpowering .
