Wonderful fragrance
This is a good product to try if you have dry frizzy hair like me. This butter comes in a smaller jar than I expected. Hair products like masks typically come in much larger jars, but this isn’t a hair mask. This can be used like a serum that you only apply in small amounts to your scalp and hair roots. The instructions say you can also apply a small amount to the entire length of your hair, but this would use up the jar very quickly. I have been doing a combination of this, first applying to the scalp and roots and then just applying to the frizziest areas, near the hair ends. This is enough to smooth out the dry frizzy hair and as long as I don’t use too much, it does not make it look oily or flat. This has a strong minty scent that I like but if you are sensitive to scents this might not be for you. This has rosemary in it, which has some clinical data that support its hair growth claims, but I can’t verify this as I have not been using this long enough. I wish more came to a jar but other than that I am really happy with this.

Natural and raw products to hydrate and strengthen hair
This is a good size hair growth butter to help moisturize and strengthen hair. It’s a nice butter texture, but can feel a little greasy, so be careful how much you apply. It melts easily in the warmth of your hands, transforming from a butter to an oil. It helps reduce breakage and works well for split ends. The batana butter is sourced from Honduras and Jamaica, and also includes Jamaican black castor oil, rosemary, and mint. It’s 100% natural and raw making it safe to use and effective. It can be applied to damp or dry hair and a little bit goes a long way. I like using it to help strengthen my hair and also to tame frizz. It works well on the baby hairs. If you are not fond of mint scent, apply another hair product that you enjoy, and it will be quickly covered up. It also works nicely as a skin moisturizer if you suffer from psoriasis or eczema. It contains no sulfates or parabens.

Hair grease for dry hair and hair that can tolerate heavier products
This is a really nice hair grease. I know the title says “butter” but it’s hair grease to me. I grew up with my mom using grease on my scalp and hair and this reminds me of that. A bit about my hair. I have natural, coily hair. If you’re into texture typing, I have 4c hair. My hair is also on the drier side. I wear it in protective styles most of the times so I’m not greasing my scalp all the time. That being said, my hair likes heavy products. I’m used to and my hair likes heavier butters, creams, and oils. If your hair does not do well with those things, this is not for you. If you’re ok with it, then I think you’ll like this.I like the scent. The predominant scent I smell is the mint and rosemary. I’ve used a few batana labeled products so far, but none have been pure. That being said, I’ve read it has a distinct smell. I don’t get that from this. Not that it’s a bad thing as I love the smell of rosemary and mint (I’ve used these oils and these scented products before). If you are sensitive to scents, this scent will linger a little bit.I think a little goes a long way. With most hair grease or butters, start with less than you think. I like to apply a dab and spread it when parting my hair (directly to the scalp). If the ends of my hair are feeling a little rough, I sometimes rub a little hair oil/butter/grease between my fingers and then to the ends of my hair. I didn’t do that with this as I currently have a protective style in, so I just added it to my scalp.Overall, I like this and will continue using it. Full transparency, I’ve used other products from this brand I my hair likes it so I’m not surprised that my hair likes this product too. As I mentioned, a little goes a long way so this jar will last you a while (I believe it’s glass. It’s pretty heavy).

Really locks in moisture. Very pleasant scent.
This is a Rosemary Mint Batana butter. It is 4 oz and says it is good for dry hair and dry skin. I was not able to find a date on this product.This product is very thick and kind of hard. It does not come with any kind of scoop so I used my nails and tried not to get anything under them. In that form it did not absorb very well so I stirred it to soften it up. That works much better but when they say it “seals in moisture” they are not kidding. This does not come off your skin (or hair) even with warm water. But I tried it on my hands, rinsed them and dried them with a paper towel. They were soft and not sticky, greasy. Just very soft and moisturized. I tried this on my hair and it was soft and shiny (but just a very little bit)The scent is very light and pleasant. Not at all a coffee scent like many Batana products. Its floral with a hint of mint, very nice.A little is all you need but boy does this lock in moisture!

Excellent Ingredients. Rosemary Mint Smells Amazing.
I really like the ingredients of this Sunny Isle batana butter. It has numerous oils that have wonderful benefits for hair, including Jamaican black castor oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, argan oil, batana oil, and many more! There are no worrisome ingredients listed and that is important to me.The consistency is like a solid balm. I have long, fine hair that is a little dry and damaged from coloring and heat styling. Because my hair is fine, I only need to use a tiny amount of this hair butter. I swipe three fingers across the top, and then rub my hands and fingers together. Then I lightly run my hands and fingers over my dry hair, scrunching the ends. This butter removes frizz and leaves my hair looking conditioned and feeling soft and silky. If I use too much or use this on wet hair, though, it can leave my hair looking oily. I’ve noticed that my hair appears less damaged with each use, and I think this butter is protective as well as repairing. I think it’s meant more for thicker hair types, but it works nicely for thin hair types as well.I keep sniffing this jar as I’m writing this review because it smells so wonderful. The combination of rosemary, peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus is relaxing yet energizing to me. I feel happy and motivated smelling it. It’s not overpowering at all. It’s making me feel productive and positive and ready to clean the house, lol.

Moisturizing and Taming Hair Butter
I love how soft and moisturized my hair feels and looks since I’ve been using Sunny Isle Rosemary Mint Batana Butter on my hair and scalp. This Batana Butter is thick and soft, and it takes only a small amount when using it. It contains an impressive list of ingredients along with batana oil, such as castor oil, coconut oil, grape seed oil, avocado oil, tea tree oil and several others. When applying it on my scalp, it feels soothing and nurturing. I also apply it on my hair strands, and I love how it softens my natural hair and makes it more manageable. I lightly saturate my hair with this hair butter and brush my hair as the butter absorbs into my hair strands and scalp. The absorption is gradual, but I like how it absorbs instead of just sitting on top of my hair. It has a minty fragrance that I don’t care for, but the fragrance is light, and it gradually dissipates. Per directions, this butter can also be used as a sealant after shampooing and conditioning the hair, and it can be used as a moisturizer for the skin. It’s good quality and good value for the money.

Not for me
I’m very familiar with this brand because I use their mousse when I twist up my hair. I really wanted to like this product but I honestly didn’t think there was anything great about it. It never seemed to moisturize anything. Even when I oiled my scalp with it, it wasn’t soothing or relaxing like other products I’ve used. It just feels like nothing. I don’t know how else to word that. It has a good consistency and doesn’t feel greasy but that’s the only good thing I can say about it. I continued to use it to be able to give a fair review. Maybe it would be more moisturizing for someone with thinner hair. My hair is thick and I have a lot of it. The jar is also small. Unfortunately this just did not work for me.

Smells Amazing – Great Texture – Very Moisturizing!
This Sunny Isle Rosemary Mint Batana Butter 4oz | Hair Growth Butter | For Dry, Damaged Hair smells amazing and has a lovely texture. The batana butter is soft and smooth and blends into hair and skin very well. This is sold as a hair growth butter but I like to use it on very dry spots of skin like heels and elbows. It provides instant moisture and softens skin almost immediately. I love the smell! The natural minty / rosemary scent is so pleasant and I enjoy it very much. It is not overpowering and has just the right amount of scent. The ingredients are very good for hair and skin and I love that there are no parabens or harmful things in this. For me personally this is too heavy for my fine hair but I do use it as a “treatment” every so often where I wash it out shortly after applying. I mainly use this as a moisturizer for my skin which is does great at. For the current price of $9.99 this is a great deal and well worth it.
