Very nice Body Shop shave kit. I’ve used Body Shop body wash and shampoo for over 20 years and this was very nice cream and after shave balm.As most things Body Shop, the past few years the price is frankly too high. I love their products, but the prices (this and all their body washes & shampoos) have easily doubled the last few years. I’ve been trying other brands and watch for their products to go on sale. So love this stuff, but it’s not a great value and that prevents it from being a 5 star product as I review things. Value is important, especially these days – and that ship has sailed for the Body Shop.Not a huge deal, but the post-shave balm (old school, after shave lotion) needed to be shaken up a bit to use it. No huge deal, but I guess it separates in storage and needs to be shaken back into suspension/solution. Annoying, but a very nice balm. Again, don’t expect that at this price point.A nice set, especially if you use a brush/cream for shaving. And it will last for a while, but as above it’s pricey. Love the clean/fresh scent of the products, very comfortable with Body Shop products, just wish the price wouldn’t continue to climb without any identifiable reason.

Nice quality, just pricey for what it is
The Maca Root & Aloe shaving cream and post-shave gel work well together. Cream has a nice glide and doesn’t leave skin feeling stripped, and the post-shave gel calms any irritation nicely. Both feel gentle enough for sensitive skin. Packaging looks premium too. My only hesitation is the price, for a shaving cream and gel duo, $34 feels a bit steep compared to other quality options out there. Good product, just wish it were more reasonably priced.

The Body Shop Men’s Shave Duo | 2-Piece Pre & Post Shave RoutineI’ve been shaving with a manual razor for decades because I always felt it gave me the closest shave. I was slow to switch to an electric shaver, partly because of the cost and partly because I just never got around to it. Recently that changed, and I now have an electric shaver that I’m really happy with. That said, I still enjoy going back to a manual razor from time to time.The Body Shop is one of those brands I’ve known for years. I don’t buy their products regularly, but whenever I have, I’ve never been disappointed. Since I still shave with a razor now and then, I thought it was worth trying a quality shave cream and post-shave gel.The shaving cream is rich without needing very much product and gives the razor a smooth glide. The post-shave gel feels light, absorbs quickly, and leaves my skin feeling comfortable without any greasy residue. I also like that neither product has an overpowering scent.Overall, this is a quality two-piece shaving set from a brand I already trust. It makes using a manual razor feel a little more like a treat instead of just another part of the morning routine. It’s not inexpensive, but based on the quality and how little product I use each shave, I think it’s a worthwhile purchase and in a way–and investment in myself!

The shave cream lathers up perfectly and provides an excellent protective barrier. It allows the razor to glide smoothly across the face, significantly reducing drag and preventing those annoying micro-nicks. I really appreciate the post-shave balm; it absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving behind any heavy, greasy residue. It immediately soothes the face and has completely eliminated the razor burn and redness I used to get on my neck after a close shave.

Great 2 piece shaving kit!
My husband has absolutely loved using these products! I am a big fan of the body shop and as such have purchased many of their products over the years way back to the ’90s when we had to go to New York for them! One of the things I’ve never tried though is the shaving kits because obviously I don’t have facial hair. But when this product came up on Amazon I decided to order it for my husband because he shaves for work all the time so I figured we’d give this a try. He has a somewhat frequent issue with shave bumps and ingrown hairs so I thought would give this a try and see if it helps that.He decided to use a brand new razor with this kit just to make sure his results weren’t being influenced by inadequate equipment! He’s been using this for over a month and his shave bumps and ingrown hairs have thankfully not been a problem! The shaving cream is thick and rich and it makes the razor glide easily. The aftercare lotion feels much lighter and soothing when applied. He keeps it in the refrigerator for an extra cooling/soothing feel! This post shave gel might be what’s helping with the shave bumps, I’m not really sure but something’s working!He has been using this for a few weeks and it doesn’t seem like there’s very much product gone so I think this set will last a really long time. I know $35 for a two-piece shaving set seems like a lot but this is probably going to last him at least a year so when you think of it that way, it’s really not that much! We both like the smell and he likes the fact that the smell dissipates very quickly so he can’t smell it on his face after applying. He gets migraines from strong sense and we were afraid that the scent would bother him, but thankfully it does not because it does dissipate quickly!He’s getting a very close shave and has not had any problems at all using the products. I would buy this for him again. I already trusted this brand to begin with and even though he’s not somebody that uses a bunch of different products, he gave this a try for me and he’s actually really happy he did! We both think this is a good purchase.

Nice shaving cream/gel set. Mild scent.
I have sensitive skin and I also have issues with certain scents so I’m always on the lookout for new shaving products to try. One thing I really like about this set is that both the cream and the gel have a quite mild scent. I also like the fact that (to me) the fragrance smells like a men’s product. In my opinion many of the men’s shaving items I’ve tried recently smell more like women’s perfume, not so with these. It doesn’t seem like I have to use much of the shaving cream for it to be enough to do the job. I would say it’s a comparable amount to the type I was using before this which I would call a foaming gel. The post shave gel works well also but my skin is so sensitive that I can’t apply it immediately after shaving, I have to wait about 30 minutes which for me is minimal wait time for applying aftershave lotion. Overall I consider this set to be good quality products that perform well and have a good scent. I consider them to be a reasonable value for a more “premium” shave set. I think they would make a nice gift for someone, or a nice way to “treat yo self”.
