I’ve been doing my own nails at home for about a decade and have no desire to return to regular salon appointments. I’m newer to nail strips than I am to press-ons and traditional at-home manicures, so I wasn’t sure how smoothly my first attempt with these would go. Thankfully, the process was simple, and the finished Hello Kitty manicure turned out so cute.I’m 39 and an original Hello Kitty fan, so I love that Sanrio is having such a major comeback. This set gives me all the nostalgia without making me feel like I’m wearing something designed only for children. The mix of pink, blue, lavender, stars, hearts, bows, rainbows, clouds, and Hello Kitty artwork is playful, but the glossy finish keeps the manicure looking polished.These are self-adhesive, pre-cured nail strips rather than press-on nails or wet gel polish. They don’t require liquid glue, a UV or LED lamp, or any drying time. The strips already have a flexible gel-like finish, so the basic process is simply to prep the nails, select the closest sizes, peel and position each strip, smooth it down, fold the excess over the tip, and file it away.The kit includes 35 strips, a prep pad, manicure stick, and small nail file. I appreciate that it contains the essentials needed to get started without buying a separate tool kit. The 35-piece assortment also provides a fun variety of designs for mixing and matching rather than forcing every nail to look identical.Application was much easier than I expected as someone still learning nail strips. The material is flexible enough to contour to the nail, and I had time to position each strip carefully before pressing it down securely. Starting in the center and smoothing outward helped minimize bubbles and wrinkles.Sizing everything before application is extremely important. I laid the strips over each nail first and planned the complete manicure before removing the backings. A strip should be slightly narrower than the natural nail rather than overlapping the surrounding skin, since skin contact can cause early lifting.The fixed designs do create one small challenge. The strip that best fits a particular finger may not always be the exact Hello Kitty pattern I originally imagined placing there. On shorter nails, some artwork can also be lost when the excess is filed away. Planning the arrangement in advance helped me preserve my favorite graphics and create a balanced mix across both hands.The included file works, but I found that gentle downward strokes are much better than aggressively sawing back and forth. The strips are flexible, so rough filing can stretch or tear the edges. Someone who already owns a finer-grit nail file may find that easier for achieving a very clean finish.Once applied, the strips feel lightweight and comfortable, almost like polished natural nails rather than thick enhancements. They don’t create the bulk of press-ons, and there is no awkward waiting period where I’m afraid of smudging wet polish. I could use my hands immediately after finishing the manicure.The glossy surface gives them a gel-style shine, although these are not the same as salon gel polish or semi-cured strips that need to harden beneath a lamp. They are better understood as flexible, ready-to-wear polish strips with a shiny finish. Natural ridges or unevenness may still show through because the material is not thick enough to create a completely artificial overlay.Wear time will depend heavily on preparation, natural nail shape, water exposure, and how carefully the edges are sealed. I made sure my nails were completely clean and oil-free before applying them, pressed around every edge firmly, and avoided soaking my hands immediately afterward. A clear top coat could also help protect the artwork and improve chip resistance.I wouldn’t automatically expect these to perform exactly like a professional gel manicure for two or three weeks. For me, the biggest appeal is the ability to create detailed Hello Kitty nail art quickly, without glue, wet polish, curing equipment, or salon-level skill. Even several days of attractive wear would make them worthwhile for an event, vacation, weekend, or fun themed manicure.Removal also needs to be gentle. I would never recommend pulling them off dry because that can stress the surface of the natural nail. Softening the adhesive with cuticle or jojoba oil and slowly working the manicure stick beneath the edge is a much safer approach.At approximately $10, I think the set offers good value for 35 licensed Hello Kitty strips and the included preparation tools. Depending on the widths someone needs, there may be enough for a full manicure plus extra accent nails, repairs, or possibly another mixed set. They would also make an adorable gift or stocking stuffer for a Sanrio fan.These were a great introduction to nail strips for me. They were far less intimidating than I expected, required no lamp or glue, and gave me a colorful Hello Kitty manicure in very little time. The final result is nostalgic, cheerful, and cute without feeling too juvenile for me at 39. For anyone who loves Hello Kitty and wants quick at-home nail art with minimal mess, this is such a fun set.

Literally the cutest nail strips!
I absolutely love anything Sanrio because how can you not? And these were too cute to pass up! I have used these cured gel strips before (think Ohora type stuff). I do see that a lot of people struggle with these things, and I totally get it. I think for these, you have to make sure you absolutely love your nail shape and length before committing, and also make sure that your nails (natural or not) have similar lengths for them to look good. I do like that this item is curated for both short and medium-long nails! You just have to make sure you take your time to really pat them down slowly to make sure there are no bubbles, no lifting, and fitted perfectly. I think this could be a really fun thing for both kids and adults. Highly recommend!

Cute Hello Kitty nails that are easy to apply
These nail strips are really cute and surprisingly easy to apply. I love the Hello Kitty design, and the finished look comes out clean and polished without needing to sit around waiting for regular nail polish to dry.The strips were flexible enough to fit my nails well, and filing off the excess was simple. I also like that the kit includes the basic tools you need to get started.Overall, these are a fun option if you like Hello Kitty and want a quick manicure that still looks put together.

pretty difficult to get on
I really wasn’t expecting the level of difficulty I had with these. They were really difficult to get on flat and really wanted to lift at any curve in my nail, which resulted in them being a bit bumpy. The edges also wore off pretty fast, though instead of chipping it just kind of roughs up the edges. I’m sure a big part of it was a user-error issue, but I did try pretty hard to get these on right and just could not manage. The quality seemed pretty low in terms of how they wanted to sit on the nails – perhaps they just really didn’t fit my nails but they didn’t work at all for me and I removed them pretty fast due to how bad they looked. I think they might be a 2 person job, but unfortunately no one was around when I attempted to do them and I struggled too much by myself.

Definitely didn’t get salon quality manicure, but it’s at least partially a skill issue
I’m willing to admit that I’m probably at least partially at fault for how these turned out. I constantly keep my nails painted so I’m a lot better at that, but I’ve not really tried to apply full nail stickers like this before so maybe that’s why I really struggled with getting these to lay flat. I was able to work out most of the air bubbles, but not all and they were still a tad wrinkly in parts. As you can see by my attached photos, I have both long nails and very curved nails so maybe that also added to the issue? They also tear really easily, especially with the coarse grit of the included mini file; when I use the rest of these (more on that later), I will probably just use my nicer glass nail file with a finer grit.One thing I didn’t think about when ordering and starting to apply these strips is that they are better suited for shorter nails. I’m sorry to include pictures of my stained and patched bare nails, but I couldn’t find any sticker strips that were both long enough and not too wide for my two longest nails (middle and ring) and the stickers I used for my pinky and index were just barely long enough.I was willing to wear these on the fingers that I could and then use my regular polish for the others, but the strips just kept tearing while I was filing them down and they just looked bad all around so I opted to take them off. I did follow the directions, but I suspect that it did take off a tiny bit of the top layer of some of my nails so do be so very careful when removing them.So overall, I think that these are not quite as easy to use if you’re wanting really professional-looking nails. Combined with the fact that they don’t have enough sizes to accommodate longer nails, I’d suggest that this pack of nail strips might be better for kids and/or anyone rocking shorties who aren’t looking for a salon-look and won’t mind some possible imperfections. The patterns on the strips are fun and in vibrant pastel & bright colors which would make for very fun skittles. I will be saving the rest of this pack to use with my nieces next time they visit as they’ll both love the designs as well not mind if I can’t get them looking completely perfect.

Simple application, cute but width issue, easy removal
This was my first time using polish strips. I usually do gel polish at home and I was surprised and happy I didnt have to pull out the LED light. No light curing required for these. The directions are pretty simple and easy to follow, I felt the application went well overall.Everything needed to put them on is included.Theres a good amount of sizes and designs to choose from and I tried to size them up ahead of time and plan which ones would go where. My nails are short and I was sad that some of the designs were more towards the center/end. They seem intended for longer nails so if I put them on as-is the design would be eliminated when filing off the excess. So I tried to trim the cuticle end to make the pattern centered for my short nail. That made the fit a bit lifted on that nail.The other issue I had was the width. I don’t know if I have wide nails or not, because I only ever use polish at home, but the strips were a bit short on covering the width of my nails. I had slivers of nail peeping out along the edges on all of them. Luckily from a distance this was not noticeable imo.I loved the whimsy colors and the designs are super cute and fun with the Hello Kitty Theme. I got lots of compliments while I wore them. After 2 days they did chip a bit and the one I cut had started lifting. The removal was easy, the oil helped them peel off with no damage to my nail and I used an alcohol pad to remove some residual stickiness after.Overall quick and easy application, looks cute, and good for a few days minimally. I felt the price was fair and a good value if you want or need a quick simple DIY manicure. The Crème Shop x Hello Kitty Cured Gel Nail Strip Kit comes with 35 different individual nail polish strips.The designs are extremely cute and appropriate as a full manicure set or for individual accent nails. I also think they’re appropriate for adults and children, the wide range of sizes, the slight stretch and the ease to file down to size and shape make it really easy to get the perfect fit in your design mapping. Some of the designs don’t automatically jump out as “hello kitty” theme which I think gives these strips even more versatility to work with.The material being cured gel helps them last longer than paper nail strips, but one benefit over other gel strips I’ve tried is that they don’t have a gel polish or chemical smell. They come with a file, cuticle stick and alcohol prep pad to get you started.They’re priced at $9.99 and with consideration that you can get at least two full manicures out of these, they are a great price. I personally like them for accent nails and find that they stay on as expected, a little better over a nail tip compared to my thin natural nails but I’m really happy with the wear.

Super cute and stays on pretty well!
I am new at gel nail strips, so this was my first time every applying something like these and it went pretty well! Firstly, I am a huge Hello Kitty fan, so the design is right up my alley. The instructions are super clear and easy to follow. I wiped down my nails with the alcohol prep pad, let the nails dry and then sized up my nails. There was some room for trial and error with placing them, but everything went really well for the most part, I was able to do both hands with ease. The printed design is nice quality; the nails look nice and shiny. And, they also lasted through taking a shower, and doing dishes, even maintaining my pool and getting my hands wet there too and they’re still on after 3 days without signs of wear (Except my thumb nail but I mistakenly put an oversized gel strip on it). Overall, they are a nice value for the quality and have given me newfound interest in cured gel strips as they are way less harsh on my natural nails than anything else including nail polish.
