Does make your hair look a bit greasy
Reviewing The Earthling Co. Hair Oil for Dry Damaged HairI’ve tried several products from the Earthling Co, and have liked most of them. This dry hair oil isn’t bad, but also not my favorite. It says it can be used on hair or the scalp, or even your skin, but it has a squeeze top as opposed to a dropper, so it’s hard to get on your scalp. I put a squirt on my fingers, rubbed them together, and then tried to massage it into my scalp. I then also combed through my hair with my fingers to distribute it to my hair, including the ends. It made my hair look pretty greasy… It probably did help with some frizziness, but I think that’s because it just made it look stringy/greasy…I think the best way to use it on your scalp is to do it overnight, then shower in the morning. If you want it on your hair during the day, I suggest trying to use very little and just put it on the ends.I put the ingredients into ecogolik and while it couldn’t find one ingredient, there was only 1 that didn’t show up green/good, so that’s great! I personally don’t mind the smell, but I’m used to essential oils, so I’d MUCH prefer this geranium smell to any other strong artificial fragrance.Overall, I’m happy with the ingredients and will continue to use, but will be sure not to use too much and not use during certain times I don’t want my hair to have that slightly wet look, which will work better for “wavy hair” days.

Works Great on Long, Wavy to Curly Hair
As someone with wavy to curly hair, I am used to dealing with lots of frizz in the summer. I have tried a variety of different products, and most don’t work for my hair. It either makes it greasy or just smells nice without doing anything. One of the things I did this year was switch my family to the Earthling Co.’s shampoo and conditioner bars, and I have been amazed by how much they have improved my hair. With how much it has helped, I decided to try their new Hair Oil to see if it would help my frizzy hair.So far, I have been very happy with the results. I can’t say with any certainty that it works. My long, dyed hair was far less frizzy after trying this. I tried it on my hair dry after it air-dried overnight. My husband even commented that my hair looked amazing after using it and was shocked how such a little bit went a long way. Only one little squirt did my very long, wavy hair. I will say it is one of those products that feels very oily when you put it on your hands. I was really worried I had used too much at first, but after I rubbed it thoroughly through my curls a few times, my hands felt close to normal again.My only real complaint would be the smell. It has a very natural, herbal smell which I personally thought was very strong. It faded rather quickly, but it wasn’t the sort of smell that I would personally choose (I get their shampoo in a citrus scent). I honestly wish it came in other fragrances, but that was the only negative I had with this hair product. It is something I would purchase again without question, even with the scent, especially with how well it works and how long the bottle will last.

Made in the United States with Globally Sourced Ingredients
I chose this Earthling hair oil to help retain moisture and maintain flexibility in my thin fine brittle hair. The hair oil is manufactured in the United States using globally sourced ingredients. The product I received in August of 2026 was supplied in a glass bottle with a pump style dispenser. Neither the bottle nor the box had a lot number, manufacture date or expiration date.The directions for use are printed on the box and the bottle and are pretty straight-forward: Apply a few drops to damp or dry hair and massage until fully absorbed. The pump is a nice feature because it’s a clean and convenient way to dispense a small amount of product. A single pump was about right for my medium length fine hair. I applied the oil to my palm, rubbed my hands together to create a thin film and ran my fingers and palms through my dry hair. I followed with a thorough brushing to evenly distribute the oil and covered my head with a silk bonnet overnight. The following morning I showered and shampooed as usual. I found that the light application seemed to help with frizz control and did not seem to weigh my hair down as heavier applications sometime tend to do.Also suitable for skin, I tried the oil on a small area and found it was okay, but as expected, oily. I think I’ll stick with overnight hair applications followed by a morning shampoo.The oil itself is unscented and derives it’s pleasant, hard to define subtle aroma from natural plant extracts.

Not Good For Fine Hair
This oil was NOT good for me. I have fine hair that seems to never get oily, but is damaged from color processing. I thought this would be useful to help tame the frizz and fly aways. It was not good. First, it made my slightly damp hair take extra hours to dry. It smelled awful. And it didn’t do anything to help my hair. It was just a huge miss for me. I know that everyone has different needs for their hair and different textures, but this was just worse than useless for me.

Arrived unsealed and leaking
Factory package was not sealed at all. Bottle arrived about 1/4 low, the box was saturated and inside the lid was full. There’s no seal or wrap or anything to keep the oil in the bottle once it leaves the factory. The smell is good and it absorbs well. Good value for the price. It does help with frizz and helps with fly away. Too early to tell if it helps with healing damaged hair. I probably wouldn’t buy again based on the issues with the lack of seal.

Nice hair oil, but difficult to apply
First of all, I should admit that I’m not a big fan of hair oils in general (my hair is thin, and I don’t want it to get weighed down). That said, this oil is nice as far as hair oils go. It’s pretty light, and it didn’t seem to weigh down my hair or make it look oily. It also has a lovely herbal scent. My only complaint is that it’s hard to apply—the bottle has a pump rather than a dropper, so a lot comes out at once, and it’s hard to apply it lightly all over your scalp. Overall, I don’t think I’ll become a hair oil convert, but if you do like a smoothing, nicely scented oil (and have an extra dropper you can use), this is a good pick.
