Medium hold, no crunch/no cast
I have naturally wavy hair, and this gel gives me enough hold to keep my waves defined without making them stiff or crunchy. I scrunch it into damp hair after my leave-in conditioner, and once it’s dry my hair still feels soft and touchable. (If you’re looking for a product that gives you that “cast” over your curls that you’ll break later, move on. This does not do that.)It also does a good job keeping frizz under control, especially on humid days. I haven’t noticed any flaking, even when I use a little more than usual, and it doesn’t leave that sticky residue some gels do.A little goes a long way, so I don’t need much product each time. If you want definition without the hard “helmet hair” look, this one is definitely worth trying. I’ll be reaching for it again.

Works well, thought honey would be sticky but it’s fine
I love styling my waves with this. It helps make them much more defined and more silky, not frizzy. There’s no crunch to it either.It makes my hair look more shiny and healthy, but not that wet look that some mouse or gel gives.It’s easy to use, I get better results when I diffuse my hair afterwards but even if I air dry it’s still effective.I like the smell but I can see it hit or miss. It doesn’t linger in my hair though. It smells similar to other mane attraction products, a slightly citrus scent with a little something herbaceous.Oh and I thought the honey would make my hair sticky but it doesn’t do that. I like that they’re able to find a way to get curl gel results without some of the ingredients that aren’t very beneficial to most of us wavy/curly haired people parentheses like silicone, parabens, mineral oils, petroleum).

One Side Has Curls, the Other Has Chosen Chaos
I have a definite love/hate relationship with this curl-defining gel.First, the love: the fragrance is fantastic. It has a lemongrass scent, which is one of my favorite earthy fragrances, and I can still smell it in my hair hours after applying it. I am absolutely not mad about that.As for curl definition, my hair presents a unique challenge. One side of my head produces lovely curls. The other side apparently attended the curl meeting, nodded politely, and then decided to do whatever it wanted. It acts like it is going to curl, falls flat, gets frizzy, and leaves me looking like I have perpetual bed head. This gel does help keep that side under control longer than using nothing at all, so I will give it credit for trying to negotiate with the problem child.Where it loses me is the texture. I do not notice any moisturizing benefit at all. In fact, even when I use only a pea-sized amount, my hair can end up feeling crunchy. The gel itself is also incredibly sticky, so less is definitely more.Overall, I like the scent and it does improve my curl definition and longevity, but I wish it provided more moisture and a softer hold. It hasn’t convinced both sides of my head to cooperate, but frankly, neither have I.

Too soft of a hold for my curls
This gel gave me a very soft hold. I have 4C type natural hair and I need a gel with a strong hold. My hair didn’t puff up to bad which surprised me. It is a little moisturizing for my hair type but not a lot. It has a very strong ginger scent which I am not too fond of but the scent didn’t linger in my hair. I did experience some flaking but not much. My curls were defined after I applied the gel but not too defined after I diffused my hair.
