Good for smoothing and soft volume, but best for touch-ups not a full blowout
I’ve used a few hot brushes over the years and this one feels like it was designed more for smoothing and polishing the hair rather than giving a full salon-style blowout. For that purpose, I think it does a nice job.The 1.5-inch barrel is a good size for adding a little bend at the ends and giving some lift around the crown. I liked it most for second-day hair when I wanted to tame frizz and make everything look a little more put together without dragging out a flat iron and a round brush. It glides through the hair pretty easily and I didn’t have a lot of tangling issues, which is always one of my big concerns with this type of tool.The brush heats up fairly quickly and I did notice that it helped smooth flyaways. My hair felt softer after using it, and it gave a smoother finish without making it look overly flat. The cool air feature is nice in theory and does seem to help a little with setting the style, although I wouldn’t say it replaces a real blow dryer’s cool shot. Still, it’s a useful extra feature.I also appreciate the auto shut-off. That’s one of those things you hope you never need, but it does give some peace of mind.A couple things to keep in mind: if your hair is very wet, this is not the tool I would reach for first. I think it works better on mostly dry or dry hair. Also, if you’re wanting a lot of curl or a dramatic blowout look, this may not be enough on its own. For me it worked better as a smoothing and shaping tool.Overall, I think this is a solid option for quick styling, frizz control, and adding a little softness and shape. It’s especially handy if you want something simple for everyday use and not a super complicated styling routine.

Excellent for Shine and Defrizzing
This is not to be used as a hairdryer; hair needs to be either completely or almost dry to work like it should, especially on wavy hair. It works excellently to either straighten or give some bounce; I also like to feather my hair a bit from time to time. I love the softess, smoothness, and shine it gives, as well as the bounce. I can easily change the part in my hair a few times after using due to the softness and malleability it gives my hair. (I also use It’s a 10 conditioner.) Adjusting the setting is a little wonky and still haven’t completely figured that out. But it heats in about a minute, while appearing to somehow benefit my hair instead of fryng it. In summary, it’s totally worth it as long as you don’t try to use it for something it’s not meant to do (i.e. dry hair and/or expect it to end up very curly).

Easy, Safe, and Effective
Heats up in about 20 seconds and is very easy to use. The 1.5-inch barrel creates smooth, long-lasting styles, and the negative ion feature noticeably reduces frizz. It doesn’t tangle the hair, stays at a consistent temperature, and the auto shut-off adds safety. Overall, efficient, gentle on the hair, and great for daily styling.

Mixed feelings
I’ve seen styling brushes like this advertised a lot and I really want to try one to see what they were all about. So I ordered this one. Having never owned one, I was of course not sure what to expect. I have mixed feelings on this.First, you need to know that I have long stick-straight hair. The texture is very fine, but I have tons and tons of it. My preferred daily look is a blowout and I am very, very good at doing a bouncy blow out with just my hair dryer and a round brush.Second, this styling brush is just that: a styling brush. It adds curl and bounce. Not as much curl as a curling iron, but more curl than a blowout. It puts out air, but just a tiny bit. It could never be used to simulataneously dry-and-style your hair. I tried it on almost dry but still slightly damp (like 95% dry, 5% damp hair) and it was pointless. Where it did excel was on hair that is dry or hair that’s just a shade away from dry. (You know the feeling: your hair looks dry, but when you run your fingers through it, there is a tiny bit of moisture left.) It excelled especially on styling-up day-after-a-shampoo bed head.Once I got the hang of using it, I do like it. It moves easily through my hair and does add volume and bounce to my blowout. As noted above, it’s great for styling on days when I just need to get out the door and I don’t feel like putting a lot of effort (or time) into styling. I use it A LOT for this.Some other notes: This brush is lightweight and easy to maneuver. It comes with a swivel power cord which is heavy duty and awesome. However, the styling wand gets supremely hot. The first setting is very hot and if I’m not paying attention, I can almost burn my hair. The second setting is too hot for me. The one time I tried it, I could smell burned hair and promptly put it down. Thus I never tried the third hottest setting. The plastic end of the stylish brush also gets really hot, even on the lowest setting, and I burn my fingers on this every time I use it.In conclusion, I like the idea of a thermal styling brush. Since this is the only one I own, I’m not sure how it compares to others. I can only tell you my experience. I’m sure my hair texture and density comes into play, ie YMMV. I will continue to use this one, but I may also look into buying another one.

Worked great with my thick, naturally curly hair
I’ve bought more than my fair share of thermal brushes, flat irons, curling irons, dryer brushes, etc. You name it. Most of them are in a graveyard of forgotten hair tools. The FORLIFA Pro 2-in-1 Thermal Styling Brush is not destined for that graveyard – it’s a keeper.I have a lot of naturally curly hair. Thermal brushes and dryer brushes usually just kind of straighten it, but I still end up looking like the pre-makeover girl in a 90s teen movie – hair that’s straight(ish), but big. This one actually was able to handle my hair without needing something else to follow it up.The other challenge I’ve had is that similar tools can’t handle my tangles. And if you have naturally curly hair you know that if you sneeze, nod “yes” or just think about the wind, then it’s full of tangles. So with other tools I’m having to brush it like crazy before using the thermal brush, because otherwise the brush will get stuck in my hair. While brushing first definitely make it easier to use this brush, this one was actually able to make it through my unbrushed post-nap hair as easily as my regular brushes.I was also able to use this to achieve curls, which is something that I’ve seen other products claim, but I thought they were making it up. Whenever I’d try to turn the brush in my hair, it would get stuck. So I could only use it in a single up/down brushing motion. With this tool I was actually able to turn the brush to curl it and achieve actual curls and not just straightened hair. Witch craft.Other pluses with the brush: it’s attractive (not vital, but I like the varying shades of pink), the cord is adequately long, it heats up quickly, it’s the perfect size, and fairly lightweight. Also – I didn’t burn my fingers or forehead once while using it.A few very minor detractors that aren’t enough for me to deduct stars: the brush doesn’t come with any accessories. At this price point I’m used to it coming with a storage bag at a minimum, and possibly clips to hold your hair. It’s a bit noisy with the cool air flow, though I got used to it. I didn’t see any instructions that came in the box, though it was fairly easy to figure out (hard press to turn it on and then single press to toggle through 3 different temperature settings).
