This stuff works and smells great!
After trying the Truefitt & Hill sample pack of every scent, my wife and I approve of 1805. Luxury will Await You Every Morning with this Balm!
I have been wet shaving for years, but recently began double edged shaving within the past two years. I have had countless aftershave balms and splashes, in addition to all of my shaving creams and pre-shave oils. This is just to give you some background that I am be no means a novice at DE shaving. My main razor is a Merkur Progress, loaded with the mighty Feather blade.So to sum up my review of this balm, it is thick and moisturizing and smells FANTASTIC! It has an oceanic smell to it. I’ve had many balms before like I said but I have to say that this is my number one balm so far. I find it intriguing that the scent of this product does not irritate my sensitive skin. How they do that is beyond me, because it’s strongly scented. It smells as though you are walking bare foot on the beach at sunrise, with the ocean breeze gently misting in your face. I have had many shaving products but I’ve yet to find a company that has better quality and consistency than Truefitt & Hill. A good one word description for their entire product line is LUXURY. If I were a celebrity, I would love to be the spokesman for their products. If it’s good enough for Royalty, then it’s good enough for me!A little of this balm goes a long way, so you’ll have it for a while. For my perfect shave, I use Truefitt’s pre-shave oil, 1805 shaving cream, and then this balm. I follow it up sometimes with the 1805 cologne which makes you smell heavenly!If this isn’t in your shaving rotation, then you are denying yourself an undeniable pleasure every morning!

Great After-Shave Baum
I have been experimenting with the shaving creams produced by Truefitt & Hill, Geo F Trumpers, Taylor of Old Bond Street, and Art of Shaving. All of them are excellent and I highly recommend them–it makes shaving fun and is easy on the skin. I have also been experimenting with after-shave baum and I must say that the Truefitt & Hill baum is the best I ever have used. I highly recommend it–after shaving with their shaving cream, the baum is the perfect ending to the shave. It does not burn, it leaves the skin feeling refreshed and soft and the fragrance is great. I am going to try their other fragrances now that I know the quality is number one. This approach to shaving has eliminated the red, irrated skin that was the result of retail shaving cream in the can. I look forward to shaving each day with these great products and wonder why I hadn’t discovered them earlier. Men, get off the can and into the shaving cream and after-shave baum offered by TH to get the closest and most refreshing shave you have ever experienced. The initial price to purchase these products is much higher at the front end, but the quality is much better and the supply will last a long time. If you are looking for a barber like shave with better skin care in the process you can’t beat this product. All of these products are available through Amazon and I really like the fact you can get reviews from people who have used the products–it is what motivated me to try these products, and I am glad I did. I’ll never go back to the retail shaving cream in a can and retail after shave products.

I love the the scent of this balm. It’s very cooling which leaves the skin nice and smooth, and soft to the touch. Quite expensive, but nice to use once in a while.

Favorite Balm
I ordered the T&H sampler pack which had a large variety of their pre shaves, shaving creams and after shaves. Since I bought it (obviously), the 1805 was my favorite. It’s a great smell and I love the way it melts/dissolves into my skin, leaving no mess like many other products.I’m not a scent expert, so please search the web for scent reviews, I’ll just say that I really like it. The Trafalgar was interesting and I might reconsider it in the future. It was a little “woodsy” to me and the fiancé, but it might be nice to switch it up. If that’s your thing, I’d recommend it as it is otherwise as excellent as 1805 in regards to being a soothing aftershave balm and a great way to complete your shave.

The Perfect Aftershave Balm
Best aftershave balm I’ve EVER used. And I’ve tried lots of them. A few drops produce a very comforting, moisturizing and smooth feeling on your face that lasts all day. More so than any other balm I’ve ever tried. I like the 1805 scent because it is a bit less aggressive and “in your face” than the T&H’s Grafton or Trafalgar…but YMMV. Worth the money. Couple this with T&H excellent shave creams and it’s wet shave perfection.

Great balm, great fragrance, annoying packaging
I’m a Truefitt and Hill junkie – I’m stuck on 1805 in particular. This is a great balm. It’s got a mild 1805 fragrance and excellent moisturizing qualities – disappears into my face after applying and leaves my skin feeling great. I have but one star to knock off, though, for the packaging. The bottle is the same size as the 1805 cologne, which is fine, but the pump doesn’t get all the product once you’ve used about 85% of it. I’d prefer that they either lose the pump, make the pump so that you can remove it, or offer it in tubes – especially travel-size tubes. I’ll be over the moon at any one of those. It’s a common complaint that they don’t seem to want to address, but it’s a real pain in the patootie when you pay such a dear price for a great balm like this. Good stuff, though. Highly recommend for all the 1805 fans.
