Yeah. As other reviewers stated the plates don’t actually touch. You get the intended style for about 5 seconds before it falls flat or gets frizzy because it wasn’t properly heated. This is a VERY bulky unit. Makes it feel expensive but also makes it impossible to get close to the roots. Going back to chi brand.

It’s okay, but definitely not what I expected. As other reviewers mentioned, I had to run it through my hair 3–4 times just to get a semi-smooth pass. I have thick Hispanic hair, so I’m used to flat irons being hit or miss, but I really hoped this one would be different. Unfortunately, it didn’t give me the results I was looking for — no real shine, no lasting straightness, and way too much effort for a single section. Returning.

Feels Really Well Made and Cuts Down Styling Time
I’ve gone through quite a few flat irons over the years, and this one immediately stood out. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was how solid it felt. It has a nice weight to it and doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy at all. It just feels really well made compared to a lot of other flat irons I’ve owned.The longer plates make a bigger difference than I expected. I can grab larger sections of hair and get through my whole routine much faster than with my old straightener, which makes getting ready a lot quicker.I also like having multiple heat settings and a digital display. It’s nice being able to see the exact temperature instead of guessing where it’s set, especially since my hair doesn’t always need the highest heat.The rounded edges also make it surprisingly easy to curl my hair. I originally bought it for straightening, but I’ve been able to create soft curls and loose waves without much of a learning curve.Small detail, but the button placement is really good. I’ve accidentally changed the temperature on other flat irons while using them, but that hasn’t happened with this one. So far, I’m really happy with it.

I have long, thick hair, so straightening it usually takes forever. The longer plates on this flat iron have been a huge time saver. I can work with bigger sections, and most of my hair only needs one or two passes to get smooth and straight. It takes me way less time to do my hair now compared to my old straightener.It also heats up really fast, which I appreciate when I’m getting ready in the morning and don’t want to wait around.One thing I noticed right away is how smoothly the plates glide through my hair. The ceramic plates feel very smooth, and the floating plate design helps apply even pressure without pulling or snagging. My hair doesn’t get caught at all, and it feels gentler than some of the other flat irons I’ve used.The results look great too. My hair comes out smooth, shiny, and with a lot less frizz. It gives that polished look without making my hair feel dry.I also like the locking feature.
