Not perfect but my wife is happy with it

My wife saw this and asked me to order it for her. Years ago, she had a curling iron that had a clamp (like this one has, although in the second sentence of “About this item,” the seller calls it clampless) that would hold her hair while she rolled her hair around the barrel. Then she got a new one where she had to physically hold her hair on the barrel with her gloved fingers while she rolled her hair around the rod or barrel. She never really liked that kind of curling iron and wanted to go back to one that would clamp her hair securely while she rolled her hair around the barrel. She is very pleased to have what she calls a “traditional” curling iron again. She likes that this curling iron has that clamp, a swivel cord, a ceramic-covered barrel, a built-in wire stand that holds the curling iron safely off the countertop, and that it heats up quickly. In the wording of the information in “About this item,” the seller seems conflicted regarding just how quickly this curling iron heats up. In one place, they say 60s, and in the next sentence, they say it is 30 seconds. Either one is fast, so my wife is not disappointed, but it seems the seller offers up incorrect information in a few places. In the main list, they say it has 10 heat settings, but really, it is only 2, and they are both hotter than my wife would prefer for her thinner and fine-textured hair. The included brief instructions say the temperature ranges from 190°-450°. While 190° is okay, it seems to quickly get too hot even when keeping it on the lowest setting, so she turns it off and on while using it to keep it from being too hot for her hair, which isn’t ideal, but since it doesn’t take long to heat up, it is a good work-around for her, and she doesn’t need to actually stop curling her hair during this time. She just switches it off, and when she thinks it is cooled down, she switches it back on. The seller included a rat tail comb, a scrunchie, a glove and 2 hair clips in this order.

Curls don’t last very long

Well it’s no so much for curls but for waves. The barrel is wide. It does have a clamp so it’s easier to keep your hair wound. The waves did not last for me very long, but I do live in a humid environment. That may have something to do with it. I wish it came with two gloves. I would not call this iron extra long. It’s about the usual size. I do like that it has a slider button instead of a push button. This one is not easily triggered just by holding it.

Good for large waves/curls

There are a lot of things I like about this current long iron. It is the perfect size for the big, loose curls that I like. The curling iron heats up quickly and you can adjust the temperature setting. My hair glides smoothly between the plates and I quickly had all of my curls complete. The first photo of my hair is after I curled it, the second was after I brushed out the curls. The curls stayed in most of the day, which is pretty good for my hair. There were 3 things I didn’t care for. The cord is not as long as my other professional curling irons. It is pretty much the standard length you would get from a regular box store cutting long iron. The other negative is that the end of the curling iron gets pretty warm. They did includ a heat resistant glove but I really don’t like wearing them. Overall, I think this curling iron is a good value for the money.
