    Expensive, mediocre shaver (given the price)

    This Westinghouse rotary shaver is a really solidly built electric shaver but has some issues that make it a bit hard to justify given the high price.The shaver itself comes in a huge ready to gift box with a leather pouch, nose shaver attachment, and the shaver itself. The shaver body is deceptively heavy; it has quite the heft to it and is made extremely well being fully metal. The shaver heads are just attatched to the top via magnets making swapping out the heads/cleaning them super easy. Charging the shaver is done through a USB C port on the bottom. A single button turns on and off the shaver with no speed controls or any other features.The main issues I have with this shaver is functionality. The shaver itself is a bit on the underpowered side and will struggle on anything longer than a stubble of a beard. Tried it on some longer beard hair in need of a trim and it was snagging and pulling the hair and took alot of effort (and pain) to fully shave it down. The other issue I have is that this is a travel shaver yet there is no lockout feature to prevent accidentally turning the shaver off so you need to hope the button doesn’t get accidentally pressed while placed into the storage pouch. The nose shaver isn’t anything special but gets the job done.I will have to say that it does do decent job (minus the snagging) and gets a really close shaver with enough effort. But for 90 USD (as of this review) you can get much more effective and proper travel shavers at this price. This feels more like a shaver built for the looks rather than for actually shaving.

    Let me get the sticker shock out of the way: $89.99 is a lot for an electric shaver when a serviceable one runs $20. I went in skeptical. I came out convinced, though with a few gripes I’ll get to. It feels like an expensive device. That’s not a small thing. It has real weight to it and sits well in the hand, which makes it easier to control against your jaw and neck than the featherweight plastic ones.The floating rotary heads track contours the way the listing claims, and the shave is genuinely close and comfortable. No razor burn. The unboxing is a legitimate part of the value. Fancy gift box, leather travel case included. The nose hair trimmer attachment is a nice inclusion too, and the magnetic swap is instant. USB-C. Thank you. No proprietary brick, no micro-USB in 2026. Charge it off the same cable as everything else you own.Cons, and they’re real: No backup blades. At this price, including a spare head should be table stakes. I can’t even find backup blades on here? Do they make them? Are they compatible with others? The magnetic heads are also annoying to clean. You have to line the head up correctly, and if you don’t, turning the razor on will launch the blade across the counter. It’s a two-second fix once you learn the alignment, but it’s an avoidable annoyance and mildly alarming the first time it happens.The power button placement is also bad. It sits on the side of the body, which is exactly where your fingers go when you grip it. I turned it off mid-shave more times than I’d like to admit. A front-facing or recessed button would have solved this. Despite the design misses, the shave quality, the build, the USB-C, and the packaging add up to something I’d still buy again. Five stars on performance, with the caveat that a spare blade and a relocated power button would make it a much easier recommendation at this price
