I picked this up to use with my Dyson Airwrap since I’ve been trying to get a bit more lift at the roots, and it’s actually been a nice addition to my routine.The attachment clicks in securely and doesn’t wiggle around while you’re using it, which was one of my initial concerns. It feels solid and well-made, and I like that it doesn’t get too hot to handle even right after styling.Performance-wise, it really shines when it comes to adding volume at the roots. I’ve had the best results using it to create some tension at the base and then finishing with a cool shot to lock everything in. It’s especially useful if your hair tends to fall flat.That said, there is a bit of a learning curve. When I tried using it on a higher heat setting, my Airwrap got pretty warm and I ended up switching to a lower setting, which worked better but took a little longer overall. Also, the tips of the comb are slightly firmer than I expected, so you do have to be a bit gentle when working close to the scalp.Overall, it’s a solid accessory if you already own an Airwrap and want more styling options. Not perfect, but definitely useful once you figure out what works best for your hair.

Puregust remains my favorite maker of aftermarket Airwrap attachments. This is my third attachment, and I’ll admit, I was skeptical of this one, as a habitual round brush user. I have a lot of hair, but it’s on the finer side, and when I don’t blow dry it, I have “Irish curls” – that is, the top hair is somewhat straight, but the lower layers are all s-waves and outright ringlets.So I generally blow-dry any time I’m going out in public.¯\_(ツ)_/¯I wish I had the kind of hair where I could just flip it over, blow-dry it with my fingers and without a brush and have it look great – the kind that slips past itself and can be endlessly flirtatiously manipulated without being frizzy or getting hung up on itself, but my hair doesn’t have the weight for that, so what I end up with is hair that is technically straight, yes, but not really shaped in any particular way – it’s hard to describe, but if you have the same kind of hair, you’ll probably relate and know exactly what I mean.So when I saw this attachment for rapid straightening of curly and wavy hair, I was, as I said, skeptical.I have never been more pleased to be wrong.At first there’s a little learning curve in terms of figuring out how to wrap and manipulate the hair section (and I’m sure there’s tricks I’ll figure out going forward, too), but basically you will need to hold the end of each section you run the brush down, and as it gets drier, you can add tension by rolling the brush so that the hair is held more firmly in the shorter segments (because hair is over-elastic when wet, you don’t want to do this right out of the gate, to avoid stretching the hair and damaging it).After just a few slow passes on a section, it’s dry, straight, soft and smooth, with its natural body, and without the root lift and additional curl at the ends you get from a round brush.And it’s fast – I was able to dry my entire head even faster than I do with a round brush attachment, which is already far faster than with a non-Dyson conventional dryer and brush.Some days you don’t need your hair to look ‘done’, you just want it to look naturally straight with minimal effort; especially if air drying is not an option for you, or you plan to wear it in a bun or a ponytail or some other style.So the upshot is, if you’re someone with hair that is not naturally straight, but you like the option of drying it quickly so that it *looks* like the hair of someone with straight hair who can air dry it naturally, this is a great tool for you. No, it’s not a flat iron effect – it looks like naturally straight hair.I can see myself using this pretty much daily even around the house when I’m not going out, because it takes so little time and makes one feel far more put together than air-dry frizz.It’s also great for when you want your hair dry and straight, but more casual and effortless than a blowout look.I can’t speak to how it works with super thick, curly hair, but for finer hair, it’s fantastic and if my review resonated with you at all, you may want to try this attachment.

I’m very impressed with the quality of the Wide-Tooth Tension Comb attachment. It fits my Dyson Airwrap perfectly and feels sturdy and well made.The wide-tooth design glides through my hair without snagging, and the rotatable barrel makes it easy to reach the roots. Its perfect to untangle hair prior to using other attachments its helped cut my dry time in half.
