Some formulas soften well but leave his beard looking slick, weighed down, or overly shiny. This one absorbs much more cleanly. It gives the hair a healthy, conditioned appearance with a natural-looking sheen, but it does not leave him looking like he coated his beard in oil.It has made his long beard noticeably softer, smoother, and easier to manage. His beard hair can become coarse and wiry, particularly through the longer sections, and this helps it feel more flexible and less rough without taking away the fullness. It also makes combing, shaping, and keeping stray hairs under control easier. This is conditioning rather than firm styling, so it will not replace a balm or wax when strong hold is needed, but it makes the beard much more cooperative.The oil also reaches the skin underneath the beard, which matters just as much as conditioning the hair itself. Love the scent! Softens Without Feeling Heavy Nor Greasy!
Full disclosure: I’m a female that reviews a lot of beauty products through vine & ordered this for my husband that wears a full but shorter beard.As his wife, I’m not always a fan of how wiry & scratchy a beard of his length feels. He’s not quite as bothered by it but has used & enjoyed many beard oils over the years and this was a great opportunity for him to try a luxury beard oil from a legendary French company I’ve heard wonderful things about for decades.He’s now used this beard oil for one week and we are both impressed with the softening it provides his beard. He really loves that, compared to other beard oils he’s used, this one feels much lighter and less greasy. He has oily skin and while his skin is hearty and not prone to sensitivity, he can be very particular about products that feel heavy, oily or greasy. He loves this acts more like a dry oil that does not leave a heavy oily residue that lingers. The texture is very lightweight and the 4-6 drops he uses absorbs pretty instantly.We both love its fresh citrus scent that offers a subtle, woody undertone. It smells clean and attractive without being overpowering. One important note there though is to be aware this contains a few essential oils that are well known to cause photosensitivity (lemon & grapefruit essential oils most prominently). Since he does has sporadic sun exposure scattered throughout his every day, and wears a shorter beard, he personally sticks to a hard rule of only applying this at nighttime to avoid risking any sun related irritation.Overall, my husband feels this is one of the better beard oils he’s ever used. He loves that it conditions his beard really well yet feels lighter and less greasy than most beard oils. I find his beard looks healthier and feels much less rough and wiry. This is a very nice, natural leaning beard oil ( over 99% natural ingredients) that’s great for those that enjoy essential oils and are looking for refined beard nourishment without heaviness. Just keep the photosensitivity note in mind if you spend a lot of time outdoors.

This is an excellent beard oil with a refined finish and the distinctive aromatic profile I have come to expect from Yon-Ka.The formula uses castor, sesame, and sacha inchi oils, but it does not behave like a heavy traditional oil. A very small amount spreads easily through beard hair and across the skin underneath. It settles quickly and leaves everything feeling smooth, soft, and conditioned without an oily film, visible greasiness, or much added weight.The scent is complex and strongly botanical, with citrus, herbal, minty, floral, and woody elements from the extensive essential-oil blend. This is very much part of the Yon-Ka style rather than a lightly scented generic grooming product. I enjoy it, although anyone sensitive to fragrance or essential oils may want to be cautious, particularly immediately after shaving.It works well on a beard, mustache, and longer sideburns. It could also soften other areas of coarse body hair, but at nearly $60 for a 30 ml bottle, that is not a practical general-purpose use. I would reserve it for small targeted areas where the dry finish, conditioning effect, and fragrance are best appreciated.The fortified-looking language is mostly cosmetic marketing, but the product does genuinely improve softness, smoothness, and manageability. It is expensive, but it performs very well and only requires a few drops at a time.

I ordered this Yonka Paris Beard Nourishing Oil for my partner because I’ve had such good experiences with Yonka skincare products over the years. When I saw they made a beard oil, I was curious to see if the same quality would carry over into their men’s line.My partner is currently growing a beard as part of a bet he lost, which has been entertaining for both of us since he normally stays clean-shaven. Full disclosure: I ordered this to try as a hair oil, because, well…beards are hair, so why wouldn’t it work well? It’s hard to find a hair oil that isn’t full of silicones and/or doesn’t smell like floral perfume, and the ingredients list on this one was free of silicones and seemed safe in terms of not smelling like a mall candle store.In short, I love this as a hair oil! I’m lucky enough to have what I’d consider great hair; it is thick, wavy, and long. I do work outdoors and keep it up in a bun all day, though, and the ends take quite a bit of stress and need extra nourishment and smoothing. A couple drops of this, either at night before bed or in the morning before I tie up my hair, really smooths the ends without making them greasy or overly shiny. The oils go further than smoothing, too, with a blend of omegas instead of just slippery silicones, and this smells like rosemary with a woody finish, not a flowery perfume.My husband doesn’t wear a full beard but keeps a trimmed bit of stubble rather than a closely-shaven face. He’s hesitant to add steps to his super-minimal routine, but I talked him into using this after touching up and actually liked it for its soothing properties; he works outdoors also and could use the extra help for his skin.This oil is versatile and makes a great treatment for all types of hair, both facial and on the head. A little bit goes a long way and the bottle will last a long time, but this one is on the “reorder when low” list now.

Smells great and is nourishing
This is a lightweight, fast absorbing, non greasy oil that does a good job with not only mens beards, but also for women’s hair!It has a nice blend of omega rich and nourishing oils, but just note that the first ingredient is canola oil. It sounds cheap but it’s actually full of solid vitamins and omegas. It’s followed by a ton of different oils plus a long list of essential oils. I wish it was only EO if they were to add scents, but parfum and fragrance components like pinene and limonene are included as well. For some these are fine but for others they are potential irritants. The scent itself is lovely. It’s not overpowering and it is bright and fresh, like a sweet eucalyptus, but still clean and masculine. Great for either men or women. For beards or the ends of hair you really only need a couple drops so this bottle will last awhile.It does include some premium oils like sacha inchi otherwise I wouldn’t say its worth the cost as it’s pretty easy and affordable to make your own beard oil at home with jojoba/different oils + EO. I think if you enjoy a pre blended, convenient, and effective beard oil to add to your routine, the cost can be worth it.

I’ll start off my saying that this oil has a fresh, citrus scent to it. I actually really enjoy it. While it is an expensive product, I do think it is worth the money in a lot of ways. This beard oil provides exceptional softening properties and frizz control. It does an amazing job at taming the coarse texture while giving it some shine as well.I wouldn’t say this is a heavy beard oil. It gets the job done without weighing down the hair or leaving behind an oily residue. Only a little bit of the product is needed to see results, so I suspect this size bottle will last quite a while. Overall, I’m impressed with this product and I think it does what is claims to do.
