    Wouldn’t Stay Attached on My 11-Year-Old’s Toenails

    I got this to try on my 11-year-old daughter, who deals with ingrown toenails during sports season because her cleats have a narrow toe box that puts a lot of pressure on her toes. I was hoping this would be a simple alternative to help relieve some of that pressure.Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the correction patches to stay on for any meaningful amount of time. We carefully followed the instructions, applied them before bed, and by the next morning both had already popped off. I reapplied them later that morning, and by that afternoon they had both come off again. After two unsuccessful attempts, she didn’t want to keep trying.The kit itself seems well organized and the instructions were easy enough to follow, so I don’t think application was the issue. They simply wouldn’t remain attached long enough for us to evaluate whether they actually helped.It’s possible these work better on larger adult toenails, but based on our experience, they weren’t a good fit for my 11-year-old’s smaller nails. If you’re purchasing these for a child or someone with smaller toenails, that may be something to keep in mind.

    Works well for ingrown toenails

    A few years ago, I had an infection under my big toenail which required removal. My doctor cut it off and it eventually regrew but I’ve had ingrown toenail issues ever since. They always pop up when I’m traveling internationally–probably because I walk more. You really haven’t lived until you try to locate a podiatrist out of the blue in Tokyo.This toenail treatment definitely doesn’t replace medical care but it’s a great option for situations such as mine. First, a disclaimer–this product has the most inscrutable instructions I’ve ever seen. Fortunately, it’s a simple concept so you really don’t need them. It’s like putting on a bandaid, only you have to put the adhesive on yourself. Not sure what some of the other reviewers had issues with it, but it took me about five minutes to apply it. Assuming you get it applied correctly, it definitely works. The concept is pretty simple–pulling the edges of the nail toward the center so the edges of the nail bed can heal. There’s been ‘DIY’ methods of doing this for years, but the addition of titanium makes it all the more effective.It all comes down to application. If you apply it correctly and let it set for 8 hours you can take baths and do just about anything else. It’s really pretty durable–I’ve had no issues with the corrector coming undone. It was a bit uncomfortable for the first couple of days but after that I don’t even notice it. I’m only a couple of weeks in so it remains to be seen how it’ll be after six weeks (the prescribed length of time to achieve ‘natural realignment’) but after three or four days I started to experience significantly less pain. Really a handy thing to keep in your luggage if you have ingrown toenail issues. It’s sold at a nice value price point–definitely much less expensive than finding a podiatrist in a strange city. Highly recommended!

Anyone who has experienced this knows the excruciating pain that comes with every step, especially when wearing closed-toe shoes. I really didn’t want to undergo surgery, so I decided to try this kit from Direme. The result exceeded all expectations!It relies on pure mechanics (the principle of leverage). An elastic strip is applied to the nail; thanks to its elasticity, it gently pulls the nail’s edges upward, preventing them from digging into the skin. Pain begins to subside almost immediately after application, as pressure on the inflamed lateral nail fold is reduced.I am very happy with the purchase. Highly recommended!

    Very effective; so grateful

    My family is prone to getting ingrown toe nails, and my sister had some bilateral ingrown nails on both feet. After prepping and cleaning the nails and skin, I applied these strips to her toes and she said she could feel her toenails being pulled gently up to prevent them from digging back into her skin. Never would have imagined an at-home product like this would be so effective. Forgot to take pictures until after the bandage covers were on and didn’t want to pull them off and ruin the adhesive, sorry. I recommend using cuticle nippers rather than scissors when removing the outer framing pieces. Also, it took me a second to figure it out, but the second tube in the kit is glue *remover* for when you want to remove the lifting strip.
