Cuts like an Edjy but overall are a mess & a miss
Background: I have the Edjy fingernail clippers & love, love, love them! I have always had thicker strong nails but now have psoriasis so my nails have lots of ridges & are a challenge. With regular nail clippers I always had to do an extensive nail filing process using several grits on each nail just to get the edges smooth enough not to catch on things. Seriously I’m not talking about shaping my nails but just getting them functionally smooth. With the Edjy fingernail clippers the cut is so clean that I don’t have to file every nail & even on the few that need filing it’s a simple one step touch up. I love the fingernail clippers so much I have repeatedly given them as gifts. Everyone I’ve given them to seems to like them too.Naturally I was so excited that Edjy was making toenail clippers. Sadly try didn’t live up to my expectations. Maybe my expectations were just too high.The Pros:They cut beautifully & leave a smooth edge that doesn’t need a nail file or just a quick touch up.The Cons:The angles are just wrong & awkward. Toenails should be cut straight to prevent ingrown nails, but there is too much curve on these. Even using smaller cuts Ike with the fingernail clipped it is hard to achieve a really good straight line because of the excess curve.There is too much of a lip on the plastic that prevents it front fitting snuggly under or against the nail cutting angle if used with the short handle held on top.If used with short handle down it is hard to see, feels very awkward in the hand (actually hurts my hand), & spills the clippings everywhere.No matter which way it is held the handle only covers part of the clipper so it doesn’t contain the clippings or even predictably block them so they don’t get all over the place. Because of the way you have to constantly adjust the angle of these clippers the clippings fly off at different angles. I don’t mean the clippings land just a couple of inches away, but some of the clippings get real distance so it’s messy.Hopefully Egjy can take these back to the design board & work out these flaws so their next release of toenail clippers is just as fantastic as their nail clippers.

Something is afoot.
I’d like to say that this thing “nails it” and it’s close, but it falls just short of perfection for me. Thy work well on nails no matter how thick, their weakness is getting close enough. You have to make multiple passes to get your toe nails where you want them. Still, I really appreciate the new take on clippers, though and it’s great to not have that clamping from two not-so-sharp blades when the single sharp one that these have makes such a better, smoother cut. I plan to keep these and use them whenever I can. The price is a little on the high side but you certainly get what you pay for as these are made well.

It Works!!
Works as designed! Blade is very sharp so don’t get too cocky using this cutter. I thought cutting the sides of the nail might be an issue but it can cut the entire nail, albeit a bit at a time yet quickly, unless you have curved sides or in-grown nails then you’ll probably need nippers. Not efficient for really thick nails as I still need 1/4 horsepower sander for my wifes big toenail. Doesn’t take a lot of pressure to operate either and very easy to handle. The clippings reservoir/bay is open and 95% of the time the nail falls into it, and tipping it over will spill contents but, by keeping it level, no problem. So far so good! FAST shipping and well packaged.

After buying the EDJY fingernail clippers, and finding them GREAT, I was happy to see that they had toenail clippers, now.I am very satisfied with these. The blade is super sharp and has no problem powering through my nails. The cutting action uses a leverage design to reduce needed effort. The shapes of the blade and cutting areas make it easy to get smooth, even results. It is very convenient and easy to use, allowing me to touch up quickly and regularly, instead of waiting weeks between trims with my old awkward snippers.I will certainly watch this brand for any future innovative products.

Cuts are clean as the blade is very sharp. These can cut very close so it’s important to align as directed. Looks bulky but works very well. Best I’ve ever used. Ordered these after trying the fingernail cutter version.

These toenail clippers are well-built and feel much more durable than the average pair. The stainless steel construction gives them a premium feel, and they cut cleanly with very little effort.
