Early arthritis runs in my family, but words can’t really express how devastated I was to find my fingers stiff and aching at 35. It was physically painful, occupationally problematic as my typing slowed down (my job involves a lot of digital communication), and just completely depressing to feel old and like my body was falling apart and was never going to be “whole” again.I remember that my mother used to use a paraffin bath (she had it early too), so I bought this.Yes, it took forever for the wax to heat up. Easily 5+ hours.But as I type this, my fingers don’t ache, for the first time in months. I forgot what it was like to have flexibility in my fingers and no typing ache. That’s all that matters. I fee this huge sigh of relief to be ache free and know that it’s not a lost cause. I can do this – I can dip my hands in wax for 10-15 minutes once or twice a day. That won’t kill me. I can do it while I watch TV or relax when I get home. It’s manageable.I feel like commenting on the melting time (slow) or the scent (NICE!!! – rain actually smells like post-rain outdoors) or the effect on skin (Smooth! This is an oily wax and my skin feels soft and moisturized) or the heating unit (plastic, but doesn’t feel as cheap as it could be, and it’s substantial enough) is so tangential to the fact that my fingers don’t ache. But I just included my thoughts on the other things regardless.I’m glad I bought this. I fully expect it to last a long time, but even if I had to replace it every week, I would. If it cost a $1000 I’d pay it. If you’ve got those achy fingers and hands, you know that a day of freedom from that is kind of priceless.

Absolutely love this product after doing intensive search of what would be the best for me and stay in my budget. I does take 120 minutes to heat up for the first time but it was way too hot to dip my hands in it so i had to play with the dial which is the right temperature. Shortly i found that if i keep the dial inthe middle and just a bit to the right it’s the perfect temperature for me. I can’t keep it warm for i am not home during the day sometimes so after i plug it on again in about 2 and a half hours it heats up where i wanted to be leaving the dial from the previous usage and it’s the perfect temperature so i never move the dial anywhere anymore. I guess you just have to play with it since everyone’s’ tolerance is different. I use scented paraffin and it’s amazing how much it relaxes me at night. After everything it’s done i do the dipping for my hands, wrap it in plastic bag and put my mittens on then wrap a big towel around it for 15 minutes already laying down and ready for sleep. After i take everything off, put my hemp oil based cream on my hands/wrists/upper arm since i have bad arthritis in my joints plus i had carpal tunnel release 6 months ago and have residual pain left. I go for OT as well and they do the same thing to my hands and arm. I feel much improvement after a couple of weeks and most morning the stiffness and pain is tolerable. I have size 6 feet so this is a perfect size device to be able to dip them in as well at times. My hands are smooth and it’s a good feeling falling asleep after this ritual which i do most nights. I am so happy i can do some pampering for myself and don’t feel robbed from my money to do so. Makes me so happy! This was a very good investment!

Great Product, horrible bricks

I read other reviews on this product so I wasn’t too surprised when I received it and the wax literally were like bricks! I had to take mine into the garage and use a hammer to break them into pieces before putting them into the paraffin bath. Once this was done, it took 2 hours for the wax to melt. These are the two things I would like to have seen different but besides these, this is turning out to be a great product. I’ve had my paraffin bath for about a week now and been using it on my mom’s hands and feet daily before bed. She suffers from arthritis pain and has told me she has woken up with less stiffness in her fingers. The paraffin is soothing and very easy to put on and remove. The 3 lbs of wax is almost done so it lasted a good week, used once daily, with hands and feet both dipped about 5 times each. Her feet are a ladies size 8 shoe and fit in the paraffin tub. It smells great and does not create a mess when removed. I wish the product came with towel socks like the hand mitts. Overall, I would recommend this product based on my mother’s experience so far. She’s really enjoying it.

Tenía duda cuando la pedí porque leí varios comentarios negativos, pero en cuanto a mi experiencia, es un producto bastante bueno.Si tarda aproximadamente 1 hora en derretir toda la parafina pero, no escurre, no hace ruido y tiene un aroma ¡ delicioso ! es una actividad bastante relajante para después de un día ajetreado.Van 4 veces que la utilizo sin ninguna queja lo recomiendo ampliamente ( hasta ahora )

Place it in a tray/container for the first time you heat it up!

Our first attempt with this machine was a disaster. We put the wax in, plugged it in, set it in the other room to warm up. When we checked on it a couple hours later all the wax had leaked out the bottom of the machine and all over the room. It was a mess. Looking back at other reviews this seems to be a somewhat common issue. I requested a replacement because we really did want to try out the wax bath.When we got the replacement in, we set it up inside a larger plastic tub for its first time so that if anything leaked again the mess would be contained. This time there were zero issues! The wax bath works MAGIC in terms of pain relief, mobility, and circulation on my boyfriend’s hands with athritis and Reynaud’s disease. Plus it just feels nice. The wax also leaves your skin feeling super soft afterwards.The wax included with it has a very strong scent, which we like so that is a plus, but I imagine if you didn’t like the scent you would be very put off, it will carry across the whole room.Temp wise, as other reviews have said, this thing gets HOT. Too hot to put your hands in unless you let it cool slightly once melted. However it won’t melt completely unless you put it on the highest heat setting, so there is some fiddling there to find your perfect temp.Overall we’re happy with it and will continue using it now that we have a unit that works as it should!

Good wax warmer

All in all good, here is the breakdown:Wax smell- at first I thought it smells nice when the wax was in the package. Then after opening it all up it is a little strong. The plus is after warming/ melting it tones down ALOT.Breaking wax- the directions say to basically break in 4’s. It’s difficult to do so I cut the packages open and broke into smaller pieces.Melting- I attached a few pictures of the melting process. You have wax after one hour, wax after and hour and 45 minutes, which was completely melted, and then after turning it off for 30 minutes.TEMPERATURE- the wax does get HOT. That’s why I decided to turn it off to cool it down some. However after 30 minutes it started to solidify again just on top. I went ahead and kinda mixed it in and used it anyways.At this point I felt the wax was an ok temperature and it didn’t bother my hands. My husband thought it was way to hot still. So I think getting the right temperature is going to take some practice and trial and error.There were no leaks with the warmer and it came with enough wax to fill the tub and the little plastic sleeves to cover your hands with. I would advise preopening them and or having help to put them on.After leaving the wax on for about a half hour my hand and nails were noticeably softer. It says to use a few times a week and I think I will, because let’s be honest it’s fun.
